Journey to the Quest: An Animated Pilot

What is Journey to the Quest?

Journey to the Quest Abridged is an animated series based on what it’s like to play tabletop role playing games. The series follows a group of misfit adventurers who come together after signing up for a quest posted in a tavern. Follow Jackson the Rogue (Foster), Pepper the Bard (Jay), Mara the Barbarian (Dez), Rayne the Ranger (Nara) and Elliot the Warlock (Bin) on their Journey to the Quest!

After beginning the vertical video animated series as a one-time gag in October of 2024 we quickly realized there was a real interest in a slice-of-life fantasy animation series. 

Though we had never done anything like it before, we decided to expand the story of those characters and see where it took us. Jay began learning to animate, Foster wrote the episodes, and Dez, Bin, and Nara worked along side in various supporting roles. Not to mention everyone became voice actors for the show and developed the characters with their own flare. 

The reception to Journey to the Quest Abridged has been so positive we started to think “hey, what if we could make this a real show?”

What is the Special?

Our project goal is to take Journey to the Quest and all of it's quirks and characters and expand it into an animated TV show. We believe the soul of Journey to the Quest that we have already established will bring something new to the teen/young adult animation world. 

We aim to make a 3 minute, studio quality, animated pilot for Journey to the Quest. Ideally, we would even pass our initial goal and be able to produce a full length episode of Journey to the Quest. 

After the completion of the project, we will be pitching the finished product to various studios in hopes of turning Journey to the Quest into a real show.

Why Kickstarter?

Part of the reason we started Theatre of the Unaligned in the first place was because of the challenges that came with being new artists. 

We wanted to be able to make something the way we want, and pay ourselves and other talented new artists while doing it! Through Kickstarter we are able to rely on our audience to trust in our vision and help bring it to life.

How Can You Be Involved?

Contribute to the campaign if it's within your means. All backers will get early access to the episode upon its completion. If you can contribute more, we have tons of new and exciting merch for you to choose from! 

If you can't pledge, you can still share the campaign with your friends, family, neighbors, coworkers, worst enemy and more! This campaign is for more than just our existing fans; we want to share Journey to the Quest far and wide. 

Where The Money Goes

Our goal is to raise $25,000 to continue our operations beyond the members of Theatre of the Unaligned. Up to this point, Theatre of the Unaligned has acted as an indie animation studio unto itself, and we aim to continue that journey in a new way as we expand. 

In the case that we pass our initial goal, we will be using any additional funds to produce more animation and grow our team. 

With this money we will produce a quality pilot episode of Journey to the Quest and begin pitching the episode to major studios who could fully bring it to life. We've actually already started production and added a few new artists to our team! So far, the results have been incredible and all the artists are working their butts off, but we need to raise this money to ensure we can keep moving this project forward and employ more people full-time.

For the most accurate shipping prices possible, you will be charged via Kickstarter’s Pledge Manager upon time of fulfilment. 

We would attempt to give rates, but the current environment makes creating an accurate estimation difficult.
