ABOUT THE BOOK

Architects of the Deep: Kagemizu, City of the Far East is a richly detailed campaign setting centered on Kagemizu, the City of Lanterned Rain—a mist-shrouded, canal-laced metropolis of stone walls, ancient shrines, shadowed markets, noble clans, hidden spirits, and uneasy political alliances.

Designed as a complete adventure hub for fantasy roleplaying campaigns, the book gives Game Masters 80 pages of material, everything they need to bring the city to life, including major districts, laws and customs, festivals, unique equipment, powerful factions, clan rivalries, supernatural beliefs, notable NPCs, monsters, and a full suite of adventures that pull characters into mysteries, duels, conspiracies, hauntings, criminal schemes, and the lingering secrets of a drowned imperial past.

Blending urban intrigue, spiritual horror, martial tradition, and mythic Far Eastern fantasy, Kagemizu offers a setting where honor, reputation, memory, and survival matter just as much as steel.

This new setting is based on the old-school D&D Oriental Adventures supplements, taking those traditions and putting more modern tropes into the mix.

Along with the setting, this book also contains an introductory adventure, as well as several supplemental adventures.

ADDITIONAL ADVENTURES

In River of No Return, a strange drought grips Kagemizu as the city’s sacred river vanishes, stirring unrest, famine, and forgotten spirits. To save the City of Lanterned Rain, the heroes must follow the missing river’s path through haunted shrines, desperate refugees, ancient ruins, and buried secrets before the truth beneath the dry riverbed awakens.

In The Jade Crane, the heroes are drawn into the home of Master Eiran, a spirit-calligrapher whose soul has been trapped inside a jade crane statue by a vengeful rival.
