🔴 You are the scoring sheet!

Pen and paper is not what you need. Your face will be the scoring sheet! There will be a lot of red sticker dot bites 🔴 included in this game. Be aware that you don't get stung too much...

Knutten are very tiny midges. They bite and that will give you a little red spot. Once one knut finds you the rest (zillion) will follow. 

Now in 2026, Knutten is also a funny fast card laying game for 2 to 8 players of all ages where a swarm of KNUTTEN gets bigger and bigger. If the swarm gets too big, a player will get bitten 🔴...

🔴 The deck

One poker size deck of KNUTTEN contains 42 cards. 32 number cards, 9 special effect cards and 1 expansion card.

🔴 Two options on every card

All cards have 2 options to play. Choose and, if necessary, turn the card when placing it in the swarm.

🔴 Creating the swarm

A player lays down 1 card from the 3 cards in hand to make the swarm of KNUTTEN bigger and then the next player will lay down a card and so on. The swarm will get bigger and bigger, but the swarm may not exceed 30 KNUTTEN. The player who makes the swarm 31 KNUTTEN or more gets a red dot sticker bite 🔴 on players hand, arm, or face. If a player has 🔴🔴🔴 bites, the game ends. The player with the fewest bites wins the game. There are also cards that make the swarm smaller and there are special effect cards to control the swarm of KNUTTEN.

🔴 Special effect cards

Special effect cards give the game an extra bite. There are 9 special effect cards in the deck. Each card has 2 effects. Choose and, if necessary, turn the card when placing it in the swarm. There are special effect cards that will turn the wind and the game has to be played counterclockwise. Other effects will let all players draw extra cards or reshuffle all cards in hand. 🔴 Wind wins!

If a player has 3 of the same cards in hand the player yells "WIND" and shows the cards. All KNUTTEN are blown away and are gone. All other players will get a bite.

🔴 Expansion

There is 1 expansion card in the deck called "John Knut". It will be played in front of the player who is currently winning and they will get bit. It changes all 5 KNUTTEN cards into 0 KNUTTEN cards. The player who was bitten by "John Knut" may once skip a turn by discarding the card. If the card is discarded, the effect will also end. You can play KNUTTEN with or without this card.
