Korpi: NFC Adventure Game

Korpi is a Finnish folklore-themed board game that utilizes a companion app and NFC tags for added immersion. The players explore ancient forests in various scenarios with different goal, mood and difficulty, ranging from hunting monsters to building a sauna for a friendly home gnome.

Gameplay events are triggered by tapping tree figurines on the phone. Players make choices that will affect the outcome of the event and, most importantly, the overall result of the adventure. Most adventures culminate in a final battle against a fearsome enemy. Tactics, cooperation and efficient use of available items are key to victory.

The game will contain 4 adventures and over 60 unique events on launch. More content will be released after launch via free app updates. Each adventure has its specific set of encounters to fit its tone and narration. Speaking of narration, all the lore and encounters come with a voice-over!

NFC technology

Explore the forest by physically touching the phone with a tree figurine. This enhanced immersion is made possible by integrating Near-Field-Communication (NFC) elements inside the game pieces.

Our companion app utilizes simple, battery-free NFC technology to trigger encounters seamlessly.

Supported Devices:

• Apple: Fully supported on iPhone 6 and newer.
• Android: Compatible with most modern Android smartphones. You can easily confirm NFC support in your device’s quick settings or connection menu.
• Tablets: Please note most tablets do not have NFC sensors, so a smartphone is recommended for the best experience.

Quick Tip: Since most phones support tap-to-pay features like Apple Pay or Google Wallet, you can use these as quick indicators of NFC capability, no need to look up detailed specs.
