Little Legends Quest: A Story Adventure Game for Kids
Par Paul Frade
Statut actuel
Intro
Part board game. Part interactive story. Part first-ever role-playing adventure.
Let kids make the choices, while one grown-up becomes the Quest Master.
The Game Is Already Done.
This isn’t a Kickstarter for an idea.
Little Legends Quest is built, written, tested and playable right now.
The stories work. The choices work. The Quest Master experience works.
The adventure is already there.
So why Kickstarter?
From Prototype
While developing Little Legends Quest, I used AI-generated artwork as temporary prototype art.
It helped me build the game, test the adventure and prove that the experience worked before investing in full illustration.
But it was always meant to be temporary.
The prototype got us here.
Now we’re making the version worth keeping.
Meet The Artist
Now the goal is to replace that placeholder artwork with original,
hand-created illustration by artist @draco_illustrations across the whole game.
Characters. Creatures. Maps. Cards. Locations. Every little piece of the world.
How the Adventure Works
Little Legends Quest is designed so the grown-up handles the complicated stuff, while the kids get to make the fun decisions.
The Quest Master follows the story on screen, sets the scene and keeps the adventure moving.
The kids choose where to go, what to investigate and how their Legend reacts. Their character’s unique abilities and dice rolls shape what happens next.
Play It Now
Little Legends Quest is already playable.
So before you back the full game, try Act 1 of 3 for FREE (that's fun to say!) and see how it works at your own table.
Little Legends Quest is built to give kids room to imagine, experiment and surprise you.
IMAGINATION
Kids are encouraged to come up with their own ideas, not just pick from obvious answers.
CARE
Helping characters, noticing who needs support and thinking about how their choices affect others.
SHARING
Working together, taking turns and deciding as a group.
COURAGE
Trying something new, making a choice and seeing what happens.
PROBLEM-SOLVING
Using each Legend’s abilities in different ways to overcome obstacles.
THERE’S NO PERFECT WAY TO PLAY.
JUST YOUR WAY THROUGH THE ADVENTURE.
What's Actually In The Game?
The Souring of the Candy Kingdom is one complete story told across 3 Acts.
Each Act lasts around 20–30 minutes. The story carries on between them and can be paused and returned to at any time.
Each character has unique moves to attack, and then one really special high risk move: The Imagination Roll.
Let Them Use Their Imagination
Rewards
There are a few ways to join Little Legends Quest.
You can simply help bring the new artwork to life, get the complete illustrated game, become a Founding Legend and play the prototype early, or leave your own little mark somewhere inside the finished world.
Choose the reward that feels right for you from the options on this page.
Expansion
If Little Legends Quest goes beyond the funding needed to complete the hand-illustrated base game, we’ll make the adventure bigger.
Our first stretch goal will unlock a brand-new Little Legends Quest expansion.
A new story. New places to explore. New characters to meet. New encounters to overcome. And plenty of new opportunities for your Little Legends to make wonderfully questionable decisions.
The base game gets fully illustrated when we fund.
If we go beyond that, we start building what comes next.
The Timeline
The game itself is already built, so the biggest remaining job is the artwork.
We’re giving ourselves enough time to finish it properly, integrate everything, test the final files and deliver the complete illustrated game by September 2027.
I Am Paul
I’m Paul.
I’m a dad of twins, and making games is very much NOT my day job.
Little Legends Quest started because I wanted to create the kind of adventure I could play with my own kids... something that gave them the feeling of a big role-playing game without needing a giant rulebook or hours of preparation.
So I started building one.
What began as a small idea slowly turned into this big thing where kids make decisions I never would have predicted.
And that’s probably my favourite part of the whole thing.
The game is almost where I wanted it to be. And I see more stories if we get this first part right!
I just can’t finish the artwork properly on my own.
That’s why I’m here.
Little Legends Quest has been built small.
With your help, it can become something much bigger.
AI TRANSPARENCY
During the development of Little Legends Quest, I used AI-generated images as temporary prototype artwork.
They helped me build the maps, cards and game pieces I needed to test whether the game actually worked before investing in final illustration.
Those images were never intended to be the finished product.
The purpose of this Kickstarter is to replace that prototype artwork with original artwork created by @draco_illustrations.
The final funded edition of Little Legends Quest will not contain any of the AI-generated placeholder artwork used in the prototype.
I’ve shown the prototype openly throughout this page because I think it’s important to be transparent about how the game got here, and what your support is helping change.
If Little Legends Quest feels like the kind of adventure you’d love to share with your kids, I’d love your help bringing the finished world to life.
Back the quest. Let’s finish it properly.
