LUCIS OCCULTA

STORY

I’m the artist behind Cosmic Paper, an Italian artist and designer based in Paris, and I’m proud to introduce LUCIS OCCULTA: The Marble Arcana.

This project was born from a fascination with classical sculpture, sacred symbolism, Renaissance art, and the timeless language of tarot.

I wanted to create a deck that feels less like a printed object and more like an artifact uncovered from another era — something carved from light and preserved through time.

Each card is imagined as a sculptural relief emerging from marble: silent figures suspended between mythology, spirituality, and dream.

Inspired by ancient statuary, esoteric traditions, museum relics, and cinematic lighting, the deck transforms the Arcana into luminous forms shaped through shadow and texture.

LUCIS OCCULTA is not simply a tarot deck — it is a collector’s object designed to be held, displayed, studied, and treasured.

Every illustration has been carefully composed to create a cohesive visual universe:
monochromatic marble tones, sculptural drapery, symbolic gestures, and monumental compositions that evoke the feeling of sacred relics or forgotten artifacts.

My hope is that this deck becomes a source of beauty, contemplation, and inspiration for everyone who connects with it.

Thank you for helping bring this project into existence.

THE MEANING BEHIND THE NAME

Lucis Occulta comes from Latin. Lucis means “of light”, while occulta means “hidden” or “concealed”. Together, the name can be understood as “hidden light” — a reference to something unseen that is gradually revealed.

THE DECK

LUCIS OCCULTA will be produced using premium materials selected to enhance both durability and tactile elegance. The deck includes 78 tarot cards printed in full-color process to preserve the depth and nuances of the monochromatic marble artwork.Every detail has been designed to elevate the sensory experience of the deck, from the softness of the surface to the richness of the sculptural shadows and marble textures.

Specifications

• 78 tarot cards

PACKAGING

The deck will be housed inside a custom rigid telescopic collector’s box designed as an extension of the artwork itself.

Minimal, architectural, and timeless, the packaging is conceived to resemble a precious design object rather than conventional product packaging, something worthy of display on a shelf, altar, or collector’s cabinet.

The matte finish, sculptural emblem, and elegant typography are designed to reflect the identity of the deck: quiet luxury, mystery, and permanence.

A QR code integrated discreetly into the packaging will provide access to a digital companion guide featuring tarot meanings, symbolism, artistic insights, and behind-the-scenes content.

THE PROCESS

The creation of LUCIS OCCULTA combines traditional artistic sensibility with contemporary digital tools and AI-assisted creative processes. Each card begins with research into:

• tarot symbolism

• mythology

• classical sculpture

• sacred iconography

• Renaissance composition and lighting

From there, each composition is developed through concept studies, AI-assisted visual exploration, art direction, image refinement, lighting and texture work, and extensive post-production. Every image is carefully selected, reworked, and refined to maintain a consistent visual language across the entire deck. Special attention is given to:

• drapery and anatomy

• marble-like textures

• symbolic storytelling

• cinematic lighting

• balance and composition

The goal is to make every Arcana feel like a fragment of an ancient monument emerging from stone.

BEYOND THE DECK

LUCIS OCCULTA is more than a tarot deck.

Selected reward tiers invite collectors to experience the project beyond the printed cards, through original drawings, sculptural objects, and exclusive materials connected to the creative world of The Marble Arcana.

The visual development of LUCIS OCCULTA includes original hand-drawn studies created during the artistic process. These drawings reveal another dimension of the project — the gestures, compositions, and ideas explored behind the final imagery — and selected original pieces will be offered as unique collectible rewards.

The sculptural language of the deck also extends into physical form. Selected characters and elements from the imagery are translated into three-dimensional sculptural pieces through a combination of contemporary digital and AI-assisted tools, artistic refinement, and physical prototyping.

Using professional resin printing technology, these forms can then become physical miniature sculptures, transforming elements of the Lucis Occulta universe from imagery into tangible objects.

The goal is to allow collectors to experience LUCIS OCCULTA across different forms — from the printed deck to original drawings and sculptural editions — creating a collection that exists somewhere between tarot, art, and object design.
