Our aim
UK children are falling behind in core skills, and their social and emotional wellbeing is becoming increasingly fragile. The attainment gap continues to widen, teachers and support services are overwhelmed, and the rapid rise of digital learning tools is not solving the problem. Part of the solution lies in returning to the most powerful learning tool ever invented: human interaction.
Our goal is to create structured social play that builds perseverance, resilience, and confidence - qualities that underpin long‑term learning. At NoFussFun, we design face‑to‑face, play‑centred games that reinforce core educational skills while helping children feel capable and motivated. Developed by an interaction designer and a business student, with guidance from a former educational psychologist, each game blends learning theory with intuitive design so children of different abilities can learn together using the same resource.
Marine Multiples is our first range of Head‑Body‑Tail games, strengthens number concepts through modular card components that support multiple games at varied challenge levels. We focus on low‑cost, low‑prep, screen‑free tools that sit neatly alongside the curriculum, making learning accessible, engaging, and achievable. By prioritising social interaction and playful challenge, we help children rebuild confidence in themselves and experience success in learning.
Our USP/strengths
Curriculum‑aware design mapped to Scottish and UK outcomes; inclusive, multidimensional resources usable by a full range of learners; evidence‑informed learning science with accessible guides; screen‑free, low‑prep tools that ease workload; and structured social play that builds communication, resilience, and confidence. We don’t ask customers to change their buying habits, we rather enhance what they already choose.
Who we are
NoFussFun is a family business based in Edinburgh that began with James and Jason, two young founders, creating their own career opportunity by building games they wished they'd had at school. They then brought in Cindy, who spent much of her career as an educational psychologist and teacher, to put learning science behind the fun.
James English
Business Management Degree with Digital Marketing
Dyslexic himself, James champions the clarity and accessible design that make our games work for every learner.
Jason English
Digital Media & Interaction Design Degree
Jason has always needed to see information to make sense of it, so he designs games that communicate visually, making them instantly clear to every child.
Cindy English
Background in Educational Psychology and Teaching
Joined the founding team, bringing experience of the full range of school contexts, including families with few resources and limited adult literacy. Every game is built on how children learn using evidenced based strategies.
