Muay Tarot & Little Oracle Deck

0. The World's First Showcase of the MUAY PROTOTYPE by Simon from THE HERMIT'S CAVE

We’re very happy to share another special moment from Muay’s journey. 🌸

The MUAY Tarot & Little Oracle prototype has travelled to the UK, and Simon from The Hermit’s Cave has kindly shared the world’s first showcase of the MUAY prototype with his community! ✨

A huge thank you to Simon for taking the time to explore MUAY and share his impressions. Seeing Muay in his hands for the first time means so much to all of us. 💗

We’d love to invite our backers — and everyone visiting our campaign — to watch Simon’s showcase and meet the MUAY prototype!

And Muay’s journey isn’t over yet! 🌸
Late Pledges are still available, and every new pledge brings us one step closer to unlocking more Stretch Goals and adding even more to Muay’s journey. ✨

Four Seasons, One Journey. 🌸

1. Overture: MUAY Tarot & Little Oracle

Four Seasons, One Journey.

Every journey has its own seasons.

Muay [mǔaj] is a bright and curious young girl who invites us to follow her through the familiar world of tarot — meeting its choices, challenges, discoveries, and changes along the way.

From one card to the next, her journey continues. Some moments are bright, some uncertain, some ask us to move forward, and others simply ask us to stay and listen.

MUAY is not simply about where the journey leads, but about what we learn and become along the way.

Four Seasons, One Journey.

2. Overview

MUAY Tarot & Little Oracle brings together a 78-card tarot deck, a companion Little Oracle, and a pair of Oracle Blocks, designed to be used separately or together.

The tarot follows the familiar structure and symbolism of the Rider-Waite-Smith tradition, with Muay appearing throughout the deck as its continuing central character.

The Major Arcana presents the larger experiences and turning points of the journey, while the four suits of the Minor Arcana unfold through the seasons: Cups — Spring, Wands — Summer, Pentacles — Autumn, and Swords — Winter.

Each season gives its suit a distinct atmosphere, color palette, environment, and emotional rhythm while remaining part of the same visual world.

Alongside the tarot is the MUAY Little Oracle, built around three simple elements:

• Direction — Oracle Blocks, inspired by traditional divination blocks commonly encountered at Chinese temples
• Timing — 7 Timing Cards
• Message — 14 Message Cards.

The Oracle Blocks can reveal four possible responses:

YES · A RESOUNDING YES · NO · LET IT UNFOLD.

Together, these elements offer a simple way to explore how a situation is likely to unfold, when it may unfold, and what message may be worth carrying forward.

The Tarot and Little Oracle may be read separately or brought together in the same reading, depending on how much depth — or how much directness — the moment calls for.

3. Meet Muay — The Girl Behind the Journey

Muay is a familiar Thai word often used for a girl of Chinese descent. For us, the name feels warm, playful, and close to home.

The Muay you meet in this deck does not belong to modern-day China, nor is her world meant to recreate one specific place or period in history. She comes from our own imagined world — a place shaped by childhood memories, family stories, Chinese period dramas, films, old tales, and the images many of us grew up seeing in Thailand during the 1980s and 1990s.

This is Muay’s world: a storybook land of old towns, rivers, mountains, gardens, temples, and small everyday moments.

At the center of it is Muay herself — bright, cheerful, curious, sometimes brave, sometimes unsure, and always learning.

We chose her to lead the tarot journey because she gives the deck a sense of continuity. As she moves from card to card, familiar tarot scenes and symbols become part of one ongoing story, with the same girl traveling, growing, and changing along the way.

4. The MUAY Tarot Deck

The Journey through 78 Cards

MUAY Tarot is a complete 78-card tarot deck following the familiar structure of the Rider-Waite-Smith tradition, with 22 Major Arcana and 56 Minor Arcana.

Within this familiar structure, the key scenes and symbols of the RWS tradition remain recognizable, while the artwork brings them into Muay’s own storybook world and connects them as parts of one continuing journey.

The Major Arcana — The Larger Chapters

The 22 Major Arcana cards form the larger chapters of Muay’s journey.

These are the moments that can change the direction of a life: stepping into something new, making a choice, discovering strength, facing uncertainty, letting something go, finding hope, and eventually seeing the journey from a different point of view.

Muay does not remain exactly the same through these cards. Like any traveler, she learns from what she encounters along the way.

Yet each scene remains connected to its familiar tarot archetype, allowing readers who already know the Rider-Waite-Smith system to recognize the foundations beneath Muay’s story.

Four Seasons, One Journey

When Muay enters the Minor Arcana, her journey begins to move through the four seasons.

• Spring becomes Cups.
• Summer becomes Wands.
• Autumn becomes Pentacles.
• Winter becomes Swords.

Each season gives its suit a distinct energy and atmosphere, shaping its color, light, landscape, movement, clothing, and emotional tone.

As the cards move from one suit to another, the world around Muay changes with them.

The seasonal cycle gives the Minor Arcana a natural sense of progression: a time to begin, a time to act, a time to gather, and a time to pause and see things clearly.

🌸 Cups — Spring

Cups unfold in Spring, a season of new life, flowing water, blossoms, and gentle change.

Its landscapes accompany the emotional world of Cups — relationships, affection, memories, connection, longing, and the many ways we learn to understand what we feel.

Spring gives the suit softness and freshness, while the familiar meanings of Cups remain at its heart.

☀️ Wands — Summer

Wands arrive with Summer, a season of bright light, open skies, restless energy, and bold movement.

The days are brighter, the landscape opens up, and Muay becomes more active within the world around her. This is the season of energy, ambition, courage, competition, creativity, and taking action.

Summer brings warmth and movement to the suit, matching the restless fire that has always belonged to Wands.

🍂 Pentacles — Autumn

Pentacles belong to Autumn, when growth begins to show its results.

Harvests, craft, work, home, resources, and the material world become part of Muay’s surroundings. The season carries a sense of maturity — appreciating what has been built, caring for what we have, and understanding what deserves our time and effort.

Autumn gives Pentacles its warmth, weight, and grounded rhythm.

❄️ Swords — Winter

Swords move through Winter, a season of cold air, stillness, sharp clarity, and quiet reflection.

The world becomes quieter and more exposed. Snow, cold air, open skies, and sharper landscapes accompany a suit concerned with thought, truth, conflict, decisions, and clarity.

Winter can be difficult, but it is also revealing. With fewer things to hide behind, Muay is often asked to look more closely at what is happening — around her and within herself.

One Character, A Changing World

Across all four suits, the seasons change, the landscapes change, and Muay changes with them.

But she remains the same traveler we met at the beginning.

This continuity is what brings the 78 cards together: one character moving through many experiences, across four seasons, within one journey.

5. The MUAY Little Oracle

The MUAY Little Oracle was created as a companion to the Tarot, but it is not a smaller version of tarot itself.

It has a simpler purpose: to bring a more direct layer to a question through three elements:

Direction. Timing. Message.

While Tarot can open up the larger picture of a situation, the Little Oracle can help focus the reading around three practical questions:

• How is this situation likely to unfold?
• When might it unfold?
• What is worth keeping in mind?

At the center of the Direction system is a pair of Oracle Blocks, inspired by traditional divination blocks encountered in Chinese temples. Casting them produces one of four responses:

YES · A RESOUNDING YES · NO · LET IT UNFOLD

The card-based Little Oracle begins with 21 cards:

7 Timing Cards explore broad windows of time, while 14 Message Cards offer short guidance drawn from the same seasonal language that runs throughout the world of MUAY.

Each part can be used on its own, or combined with the others. The entire system may also be brought into a Tarot reading when a question calls for a little more focus or a more direct response.

The goal is not to add more cards simply for the sake of having more cards. It is to give each part of the system a clear purpose — and let the reader choose what the moment actually needs.

🔒 Stretch Goal Note: If unlocked during the campaign, 4 Direction Cards — YES, A RESOUNDING YES, NO, and LET IT UNFOLD — will be added to the Little Oracle, offering a card-based alternative to casting the Oracle Blocks.

6. How the Two Decks Work Together

The MUAY Tarot and MUAY Little Oracle can be used separately or together.

The Tarot explores the situation in greater depth, while the Little Oracle adds three focused layers:

• Direction — How is the situation likely to unfold?
• Timing — When might it unfold?
• Message — What is worth keeping in mind?

A Simple Reading Flow

1. Begin with one clear question.
Keep the same question throughout the reading.

2. Draw the cards face down.
Draw your Tarot card or cards, then one Timing Card and one Message Card. Place them face down without revealing them yet.

3. Cast the Oracle Blocks.
Ask for the Direction of the situation and cast the Oracle Blocks for one of four responses:

YES · A RESOUNDING YES · NO · LET IT UNFOLD

4. Reveal the cards.
Turn over the Tarot, Timing, and Message Cards.

5. Read everything together.
Consider the Tarot as the deeper picture, the Oracle Blocks as the Direction, the Timing Card as when something may unfold, and the Message Card as what may be important to notice or carry forward.

An Example Reading

Question: Should I accept this new job offer?

First, the reader draws two Tarot cards, one Timing Card, and one Message Card, placing all of them face down. The reader then casts the Oracle Blocks.

The Oracle Blocks reveal: Direction — A RESOUNDING YES
The opportunity appears worth moving toward with confidence.

Then, reveal all the cards:

Tarot — Two of Wands + Eight of Pentacles
A new path is opening, but it will require commitment, learning, and the willingness to grow.

Timing — SOON
The situation may develop quickly, and a decision may be needed before the opportunity moves on.

Message — COURAGE CHANGES THE PATH
The opportunity may be there, but taking the next step still requires courage.

Together, the four parts build a fuller picture rather than simply repeating the same answer:

Tarot gives the story.
Direction shows the tendency.
Timing gives a sense of when.
Message offers something to carry forward.

Readers can use the complete sequence or choose only the parts that feel useful for the question.

🔐 If the 4 Direction Cards are unlocked during the campaign, they may be used in place of the Oracle Blocks for the Direction step.

7. Full Deck Showcase

• Wands — Summer
A bright season of action, courage, ambition, and creative energy.

• Pentacles — Autumn
A grounded season of work, growth, harvest, and what we choose to value.

• Swords — Winter
A clear and quiet season of thought, truth, challenge, and reflection.

The Seven Timing Cards

Seven ways to explore when something may unfold.

The Fourteen Message Cards

Seasonal messages of growth, courage, discernment, reflection, and choice.

8. The Books Behind the Journey

The journey of MUAY continues beyond the cards through two companion books, each created for a different kind of reading experience.

Art & Story Book

The Art & Story Book is designed as a deeper journey into Muay’s world.

Rather than serving only as a reference guide, it brings together selected artwork, storytelling, reflections, and the experiences behind each card — allowing readers to spend more time with the scenes, characters, and emotional journey of the deck.

It is intended to feel like a book to read, explore, and return to, not simply something to consult for card meanings. The book is planned in a compact square format, approximately 14 × 14 cm, making it comfortable to hold while still giving the artwork and storytelling room to breathe.

Pocket Guide

The Pocket Guide takes a more practical approach.

Designed to stay close to the deck, it offers concise guidance for each card in a format that is quick to read and easy to use during a reading.

Where the Art & Story Book invites readers to stay with the story, the Pocket Guide is there when they simply need a clear reminder and want to keep moving.

Both books are currently in development, and their final layouts and details may continue to evolve as we refine the reading experience.

What will remain at the heart of both is the same idea:
one book to spend time with the journey, and one to carry along the way.

🎯 FUNDING GOAL

SGD 2,500 — Project Funded

Once the campaign reaches SGD 2,500, MUAY Tarot & Little Oracle will move forward into production.

The core reading system will include:

• 78-card MUAY Tarot
• 21-card MUAY Little Oracle: 7 Timing Cards, 14 Message Cards
• 1 pair of Oracle Blocks

Keeping production local also allows this project to support the people and small businesses around us. As MUAY grows, we hope the work can grow alongside the community that helps bring her world to life.

Additional books, accessories, and presentation items are included according to the selected Standard Journey or Full Journey reward.

🏆 STRETCH GOALS

Every milestone allows us to add another little piece to Muay’s journey.

🔓💖 SGD 4,000 (Unlocked) — Alternate Page of Cups: An additional Alternate Page of Cups will join the MUAY Tarot as a bonus card — a playful extra scene celebrating the gentle, curious, and endearing spirit of Muay. This card will be added in addition to the complete 78-card tarot deck.

🔓💖 SGD 5,000 (Unlocked) — Illustrated Postcard Set: A set of 5 illustrated MUAY postcards, featuring selected artwork from Muay’s world, will be added to all Journey rewards.

🔓💖 SGD 6,000 (Unlocked) — Portable Deck Pouch: A custom Portable Deck Pouch will be added for carrying MUAY beyond the home. The Journey boxes are designed to keep the complete collection together, while the pouch offers a lighter and more convenient way to bring the cards along for readings elsewhere.

🔒 SGD 7,000 — A3 Reading Spread Poster: A beautifully designed A3 Reading Spread Poster created especially for MUAY readers. Rather than simply decorating the reading space, the poster will provide a practical layout for arranging cards and exploring a reading step by step — with the final spread design to be revealed during the campaign.

🔒 SGD 8,000 — 4 Direction Cards: The four Direction responses will also become physical cards: YES · A RESOUNDING YES · NO · LET IT UNFOLD. These 4 Direction Cards offer a card-based alternative to casting the Oracle Blocks, allowing the Direction system to remain part of a reading even when the blocks are not at hand.
Once unlocked, the MUAY Little Oracle expands from 21 to 25 cards, giving readers the freedom to choose between the traditional-inspired Oracle Blocks and their card counterparts.

13. Shipping

🚚 Shipping

Shipping is not included in the pledge price and will be collected after the campaign through our post-campaign survey.

We chose to collect shipping later so that we can charge backers based on the most current shipping rates available closer to fulfillment, rather than building an estimate into the pledge months in advance.

International shipping rates can change due to fuel costs, carrier surcharges, exchange rates, and other logistics conditions. Collecting shipping separately also helps us keep the shipping charge closer to the actual fulfillment cost rather than building additional campaign-related costs into the pledge price.

🌍 Estimated Shipping Rates

Current estimates for approximately 1–2 decks are:

• Asia — SGD 16–24
• USA & UK — SGD 32–48
• Europe — SGD 40–60*
• Australia & New Zealand — SGD 24–48

These figures are estimates only and may change before fulfillment.

*We have also received informal, unconfirmed indications that some European shipments may face additional import-related charges of approximately €3–€5 per shipment in the future. This has not been confirmed and may not apply to every country, so any such charges will depend on regulations in effect at the time of delivery.

📦 A Reference from Our Previous Campaign

For our previous Kickstarter project, Reflective Arcana Tarot, shipping was divided into two general parcel sizes:

Pack A —for a smaller shipment, such as a single deck
Pack B — for a larger shipment, such as the Keepsake Box package

The current rates shown on our shipping page can be used as a general reference for the possible shipping range of this campaign.

View our current shipping-fee reference

Please keep in mind that these are current shipping rates, not guaranteed rates for MUAY. We expect the final costs to remain within a similar range, but the actual amount will be calculated closer to fulfillment.

📦 Additional Items & Add-Ons

Adding decks or add-ons may increase the shipping cost depending on the final weight and parcel size.

For the Standard Journey, the base package is expected to qualify for the lower shipping range.

Adding larger items such as the Art & Story Book, Journal or Reading Cloth is expected to move the shipment into the larger shipping range, similar to the Full Journey Keepsake Box.

Adding only small, lightweight items such as a Sticker Pack is not expected to significantly affect shipping.

Backers adding multiple decks or other larger items will be charged according to the final parcel size and weight.

⚠️ Taxes & Import Duties

Import taxes, VAT, tariffs, customs clearance fees, and any other charges imposed by the destination country are not included in the pledge or shipping payment.

Any such charges are the responsibility of the backer and will vary according to local regulations.

Customs inspections may also occasionally cause delays beyond our control.

📍 Shipping Availability

We plan to ship to a wide range of international destinations.

If your country is not available when pledging or completing the shipping survey, please contact us. We will be happy to check whether a reliable shipping option can be arranged.

📞 Information Required for Shipping

Please provide a valid telephone number when completing your shipping information, as carriers may require it for delivery.

Some countries may also require a personal Tax ID or other customs information forclearance, including Brazil, Chile, Taiwan, and South Korea. If additional information is required, we will contact you through Kickstarter or the email associated with your pledge.

📦 Address & Delivery

Please make sure your shipping address is complete and correct before the fulfillment deadline.

If you use a mailbox or temporary address, please ensure that it will remain valid throughout the expected delivery period.

Additional costs caused by an incorrect, incomplete, or expired address may need to be paid by the backer before a parcel can be resent.

📦 Damaged or Incomplete Orders

Each reward will be carefully packed before shipment.

If your package arrives with shipping damage, missing items, or incomplete cards, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery and include clear photographs so that we can review the situation and assist you.

⏳ Delays & Tracking

Tracking information will be provided where available.

International delivery may occasionally be affected by customs inspections, local carrier conditions, weather, or other circumstances outside our direct control.

If a shipment appears unusually delayed, please contact us and we will do our best to investigate with the carrier.

🧭 Fulfillment Plan

Rewards will begin shipping after:

Production is completed → Surveys are confirmed → Shipping payments are completed → Orders are packed → Tracking is issued

We will continue to share fulfillment updates throughout the process so backers can follow MUAY on her journey home.
