—description du concepteur

Présentation de la campagne

Neither King Nor God - Kein Gott Kein König - Ni Dieu Ni Roi
Welcome to the landing page of the epic game project of Neither King Nor God which will allow you and your competitors to explore the exciting era of the Renaissance in Europe.

The game will be availabe in a localized German and French version as well.

In Fall 2025 we presented for a short period of time the Limited Pilot Edition of Neither King Nor God. The game was very well received by the community and as copies we printed were limited you will most likely not find the game anymore. But don't worry: we are working on the original design idea of Uwe Walentin which was epic in size.

It was only partly a surprise to us that the Pilot Edition was so well-received by the community. It was relatively clear to us that you would appreciate the high level of interaction, as well as the system’s accessibility and elegance—and certainly Marc von Martial’s artwork as well.
The various tactical combinations involved in planning how to deploy the “Courtiers” were also very popular. We were somewhat surprised that many of you liked the game’s short playtime, as well as the fact that it can be played with “only” four players.

The Pilot Edition, of course, meets our very high quality standards: over 300 mostly customized wooden meeples, a dual-layered game board, and faction sheets.

Thanks to your extensive feedback on the Pilot Edition, we’ve been able to draw conclusions for the original version and understand that we absolutely must offer scenarios for fewer than 5 players and that you want scenarios with a short playtime.

What else will you find in the Epic Edition?
First, some new “Courtiers”. They are the heart of the game. We’ll have a fifth faction—the Spanish Kingdom—as well as several new regions, including the New World, Asia, and regions along the North African coast. This means we’ll have a large game board.

The Ottoman Empire will be a new Non-Playing Faction (NPF). The Ottoman Empire plays against the continental powers. If the Ottoman Empire dominates the European mainland, England wins.

With “Diplomacy,” we’ll have an additional layer in the game system. Neutral realms like Sweden and Denmark can become allies, and Landsknecht units can be hired. The factions will be even more asymmetrical than in the Pilot Edition.

The development of the game Neither King Nor God will include a very special feature: many of you are familiar with the game’s “engine,” the “Courtiers.” In the current version, the game has 16 different “Courtiers.” Essentially, there is an infinite number of possible “Courtiers” that can be added to the game.
We’d like to invite you to share your ideas and suggestions with us regarding what you envision as potential “Courtiers.” From among all the submissions and suggestions—which we’ll of course have to test—we’ll select the three best ones. As a reward, you’ll receive a free copy of the game and, of course, a credit with your name.
We’ll provide more detailed information about the “Community Participation” initiative at a later date.

Please join us on this journey of this fantastic game project.

Risk & Challenges

Estimated time for our game to be delivered to your houses is November 2027.

The moment we started the campaign almost all "hardware" of the game is finished with the goal that you will soon have the game on your table. But, as mentioned on social media, our blog and here in the Gamefound landing site of the campaign, we invited the community to be part of the development team. It is not easy to plan exactly how much time the play testing of suggested "courtiers" will take. We will close the window for suggestion in Q1 2027.

There are potential difficulties and delays that occur during customs formalities, shipping or different production stages. Our priority is to reach the highest game quality possible, even if it means some delays. We are certain that you also want to receive the best quality. This date has been calculated based on the production estimations of our subcontractors with a bit of a safety margin added to it.

Time line & Manufacturing

At the time of the initial launch of crowdfunding, almost all print files of "hardware" components will be ready, though there still remains continued proofreading of the rules.

We are providing this timeline to help provide the best possible transparency and present our plans for the production and delivery of your pledge. To aid in keeping our supporters as up-to-date as possible. We will purpose to provide updates every two weeks.

We are confident in our process and working with our established partners for manufacturing and fulfillment to ensure we stay on schedule. However, delays can and sometimes do happen due to unforeseen circumstances. We will do our best to mitigate these should they arise.

With all that is stated above, please remember that this timeline is not a guarantee but a solid plan that has been worked out with our team and manufacturer.

We are very thankful for your support, which allows us to create and publish our unique and high-quality games. We could not do this without you and your passion for the hobby.

Timeline:
15th of December 2026 - crowdfund campaign finished and late pledge manager opened
End of December 2026 - late pledge manager opened
Mid of April 2027 - final play test & transfer of print files
Mid of June 2027 - receiving samples, intense proof procedure
Mid of August 2027 - finalizing manufacturing
End of September 2027 - product in transit to fulfillment centers
End of November 2027- delivery & fulfillment

Note 1: Due to the uncertain situation in the Red Sea, shipping to the fulfillment centers may take 2 weeks longer.
Note 2: As mentioned above, the moment we launched the campaign, most of the hard ware is close to finalized. But we will take intense time to play test and have professional proofreaders check all elements of the game. Together with the printer we had sample of all components in our office for approval and we are currently fine-tuning the files.
