We're excited to offer something special to our U.S. fans — a limited-time Mystery Box sale for Nemesis: Retaliation!

During the U.S. fulfillment process, some backers who originally pledged for the game chose to request a refund rather than pay the recently imposed import tariffs. As a result, a limited number of fully produced, U.S.-delivered pledges are now sitting at our U.S. hub — ready to ship.

Rather than letting these games sit idle, we’ve decided to make them available to the community in the form of Mystery Boxes — packed with guaranteed Nemesis goodness and extra surprises at a great value.

Nemesis: Retaliation is a 1-5 player semi-co-op horror Sci-Fi thematic Board Game created by Adam Kwapiński and published by Awaken Realms. It is the final, epic part of the Nemesis trilogy (you DO NOT need to play/own previous games to enjoy Retaliation). This time, you will play as a Marines squad, fully knowing what they are getting themselves into – prepare for a lot of fresh mechanics and better than ever cinematic moments, your friends stabbing you in the back, and an onslaught of the alien HORDE!

Why a Mystery Box sale?

We're excited to offer something special to our U.S. fans — a limited-time Mystery Box sale for Nemesis: Retaliation!

Rather than letting these games sit idle, we’ve decided to make them available to the community in the form of Mystery Boxes — pre-packed Nemesis parcels that have not been sent to their original backers because they decided to take a 100% refund.

Each Mystery Box includes:

Nemesis: Retaliation – Core Pledge (Special Edition) with Sundrop or Grey miniatures.

This is the full base game, delivered in the Special Edition form — the exact same edition backers received during the campaign.

BONUS content worth more than you pay

Every box includes one or more additional items from a pool of Nemesis expansions, accessories, or merch. The content varies per box — that’s the “mystery” part — but every box will contain products whose combined MSRP exceeds the box price.

You can choose from three tiers based on how much extra content you’d like included.

This is not a raffle or sweepstake — every customer will receive physical products of confirmed retail value above the purchase price. Full MSRP ranges and possible bonus items are listed in the Terms & Conditions.

We simply don’t want any games to go to waste.

These Mystery Boxes are made possible due to fully packed and ready-to-ship pledges that were refunded after arriving in the U.S. Because they’re already in our American warehouse, we can offer them to you at a great value and with no new tariff risk or international shipping complications.

We also know many of you may have missed the campaign or are looking for a good way to jump into the Nemesis universe. This is a great chance to get in — and get a few surprises along the way.

Ships to: United States only (included in the Tier price). Sales Tax will be calculated in the checkout phase.

Planned shipping window: November 2025

Orders are processed while supplies last. If stock remains after November 30th, shipments will continue on a rolling basis.

What is Nemesis?

Nemesis is one of the most popular Board Games in the world – currently occupying the 23rd slot for the best game of all time (BGG ranking) and #11 for best thematic board game in the world.

It was followed by Nemesis Lockdown (that was more of an evolution of the formula), and now, the trilogy's final part is being crowdfunded.

Retaliation is be the biggest "revolution" in the gameplay mechanics, but still keeping all of the best core ideas behind the franchise!

Inspired by Sci-Fi horror classics, Nemesis brings you a truly cinematic experience that you can enjoy as a true solo, co-op, or a semi co-op.

Perhaps the most iconic mode is semi co-op, where each player has his own secret objective that sometimes will be team-based… but it also can target to kill one of the other players.

Nemesis is known for the thematic, cinematic-like experience that emerges 100% from the pure gameplay and is different in every game.

Sometimes, the first room you enter will spawn a deadly Queen.

Sometimes, right before stepping into the escape pod, your friend will paralyze you with a teaser and escape themselves, and sometimes, you will lie to the whole team about coordinates and lead the ship to Mars, completing your secret objective.

Nemesis (Original) was the first in the series, and it takes place on Nemesis ship – coming with few gameplay and cosmetic expansions.

Nemesis: Lockdown is a natural evolution – it is set in the secret base on Mars and has a different setting and accompanying mechanics, as well as dedicated alien races:

Night Stalkers and Chytridis.

Finally, Nemesis: Retaliation is the final epic part of the trilogy – this time, as a Marine squad, you are entering an alien nest and fighting the hordes.

Those 3 parts are fully standalone and can be played in any order, offering a classic board game experience.

All of them are highly thematic horror experiences with some randomness, tons of emotion, and A LOT of play above the board with your friends.

"Nemesis is the greatest board game ever!" - Woody [REC]

Nemesis: Lockdown

Global phenomenon

Nemesis has transcended the realm of board gaming to become a global phenomenon, capturing the imagination far beyond its original community.

Its influence extends into various aspects of popular culture, inspiring creativity and passion.

Recognized as a brand that offers a cinematic experience, Nemesis has established itself as a symbol of innovation and excitement.

"We are going to play the six hours long, very thematic - Nemesis." - Eric Cartman in Southpark Season 23 Episode 7 - "Board Girls" by South Park Studios

Jay is a huge Nemesis fan, and he created a unique 3D board for our game!

Gdańsk. Amundsen Street 5.

It is in this place that the world's first SUCH A LARGE mural for a board game, was created.

One of the largest compositions using UV paint in Europe (324 m²).

Dozens of man-hours of artists' work and a breathtaking final effect.

All this could be seen in the period of October - November 2022.

What is Sundrop?

The ultimate goal of Sundrop is to provide models that surpass the appearance of unpainted plastic. We believe we have achieved this, creating an option specifically tailored for those who either don't paint or lack the time to do so, while still desiring a superior alternative to raw plastic. When placed on the board, Sundrop models not only look impressive but also add an extra layer of intrigue and immersion, surpassing the aesthetics of bare plastic. This is what truly matters to us – delivering a visually captivating experience.
