—description du concepteur

Présentation de la campagne

THE ARCOLOGY DIRECTIVE

Congratulations, Citizen-Architect!

You have been selected by the Nexus Board of Urban Optimization to oversee construction within humanity’s most ambitious self contained habitat: The Arcology. Surface conditions remain nominally survivable (pending atmospheric scrubbing), but inside the Nexus, progress spreads Sector by Sector.

As a Certified (Probationary) Citizen-Architect, you will:

• Draft Sector Die

• Connect new Sector Pairs with Existing Infrastructure

• Fulfill approved BluPrints (scoring points!)

• Increase livability metrics beyond acceptable thresholds

• Avoid costly Exclusion Zone incursions*

The Arcology thrives when systems interlock...So does your career. Failure to comply with adjacency regulations may result in:

• Budget reallocation

• Performance review

• Reassignment to Sanitation Reclamation

Remember: In the Arcology, every hex matters. At the end of 12 rounds the Citizen-Architect with the highest score will be Promoted! Nonpromoted Citizen-Architects will be exiled reassigned!

Welcome to the future of Urban Perfection.

*Exclusion Zone not rated for long-term habitation.

After the 12 rounds are over, the player with the highest total score from their completed BluPrints plus some tricky end game scoring objectives wins!

Timeline

I'm already in discussion with the amazing Panda Game Manufacturing and once this Kickstarter is kicked, we can get the ball rolling on manufacturing shipping it here from China and distribution. the hope is to get all that done by summer 2027!

Shipping

We will be using Kickstarter.com to manage pledges and multiple Shipping Hubs around the world to manage shipping and fulfillment costs after the campaign. Due to the current volatility of shipping costs, shipping payments will be collected in Kickstarter well after the end of the campaign, close to our ship date, and will be based on shipping weight and actual shipping costs incurred. This will allow us to present the most accurate and up-to-date prices to pass savings on to you, our valued backers.

You will receive an email from Kickstarter.com a few months after the campaign to confirm your pledge and add any additional items you would like. In the Kickstarter pledge manager, you will be able to:

  • Confirm your pledge.
  • Add any additional items you would like to get.
  • Pay for shipping costs.
  • Pay for taxes and duties (if due) on the spot as well to avoid delays.

Please be aware that the shipping rate estimates provided in the table below are only approximations for shipping weights.

The prices mentioned do not include any optional items you may select. Optional items will increase shipping cost.

Final charges for shipping and sales tax or VAT (where applicable) will be determined based on actual shipping and tax costs incurred.

As of right now, we will be fulfilling all orders from hubs in the United States, Canada, EU, UK, Asia, and Australia. Orders from any other regions will be fulfilled from our hub in the United States. Shipping is customs/duty friendly in the U.S., EU, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Asia. If you’re outside these regions, your local postal service may charge extra fees when your package arrives. Import taxes or VAT (if applicable) are set by your country and are the responsibility of the backer. Every country has its own rules, so if you’re unsure, we recommend checking with your local customs office before you pledge.

Note that, in compliance with sales tax law, we will be required to charge sales tax in Kickstarter for backers living within the United States and Canada. Also in compliance with EU and UK laws, VAT will be charged in Kickstarter.com for EU and UK backers. We cannot provide an accurate estimate of sales tax / VAT total since charges vary by location and are based on the total price of the order plus shipping costs. These rates will be determined accurately by the pledge manager and shipping manager.  The full sales tax / VAT to be charged on each pledge will be clearly displayed in our pledge manager or shipping manager before final shipping confirmation.

Unfortunately, import laws prohibit us from shipping games to certain countries. WE DO NOT SHIP TO: Iran, Russia, Venezuela, Afghanistan, and Cuba.

Please note that we can only guarantee delivery for pledges that are confirmed in Kickstarter.com within the specified deadlines. Unfortunately, we won't be able to deliver unconfirmed pledges.

Please be aware that the shipping rate estimates provided in the table below are only approximations for shipping weights. The prices mentioned do not include any optional items you may select. Optional items will increase shipping cost.

Who are we??

Jacob Knipper is what happens when a lifetime love of boardgames, a degree in Architecture, and a pandemic-fueled creative frenzy collide. A Magic: The Gathering nerd turned indie board game designer, Jake dove headfirst into the deep end of board game design in 2020 while juggling stay-at-home dad duties and an increasingly obsessive love affair with Root by Leder Games. What began as fan content – two factions, a deck, and five maps (because why stop at one?) – quickly evolved into a full-blown career pivot.

Now the founder of Red Tail Games, Jake is crafting a brand around clever mechanics, thoughtful design, and just the right amount of chaos. He’s currently developing  NEXUS:An Arcology Directive, a dice-drafting, roll-and-write, City builder, as well as Dungeons of Gul-Drun, a dungeon-crawling deckbuilder that may or may not include a sentient bottomless pit (at least, we’re pretty sure its sentient?) When he’s not prototyping or arguing with his own rulebook margins, Jake leads Design in Progress, a Discord and YouTube community where game makers gather to test wild ideas, share half-baked brilliance, and lovingly roast each other’s mechanics, celebrating each broken prototype along the way.

If you’re into cardboard, community, and chaos (or just want to meet the guy who made the largest Root map yet), come say “Hi!”  Jake probably brought dice,  and he’s definitely brought opinions.
