What to Expect

"Night of the Pumpkin Queen" is a unique 5th edition adventure unfolding in the whimsical Halloween Realm of the Pumpkin Queen. Guide your players through the haunted Halloween streets as they attempt to "trick or treat" its otherworldly residents. It can be plugged into your world or enjoyed as a standalone adventure perfect for a late Autumn night!

The Adventure

Once a year, when the Hollow Moon rises, the Pumpkin Queen, a mischievous Fey, sends out invitations to the Midnight Masquerade, a mask party to celebrate Halloween. This year, one of the letters found itself in the hands of a (capable) adventurer. And, you know what they say: When the Queen calls, you answer.

Did you read the invitation? Good! Now you must attend. Joining the masquerade is easy, leaving the Halloween Realm is unheard of. Unless, of course, you accept the Pumpkin Queen's challenge to Trick or Treat the realm's residents.

Trick or Treat!

There is only one way to escape the Halloween Realm, and that is to trick the realm's residents into giving you a treat. Three successful Tricks before sunrise and the realm's gates will open for you to escape! Fail, and you shall be forever trapped in the Pumpkin Queen's clutches.

Can you spook them enough to give you a treat? Or will you become the treat? Tell a tale, crack a joke, or down the maw you go!

Among the many residents of the Halloween Realm, one of the most terrifying is the Grandma! Her name? Nobody knows! Her Pumpkin Pie? To die for, literally...

Can you resist the Grandma's offer to come in for some pie? Or will you find a way to spook her into giving you some candy?

Chance of NOT eating her pumpkin pie: Unheard of!

Meet Count Percival D. Gloom, a depressed vampire who constantly questions the meaning of his immortality. Can you make him laugh, cry, raise an eyebrow? We certainly can't! (And yes, the D. stands for Depressed.)

The candy is real close, you can see it inside the bowl just outside the house. But, what's with all these signs? BEWARE Barking Ghouls! ZOMBIES INSIDE! Who wrote them, and why are there so many graves in the backyard?

Chance of getting candy safely: 50% Maybe...

Chance of getting jumped by a barking ghoul: Just watch your step and you'll be fine!

"My mom won't let me go out for Halloween... So, can I trick you instead?" Who could ever decline poor little Kled, trapped in this definitely not Haunted House?!

The night is still young! Will you sacrifice a treat for this poor kid, or take him with you to the neighbor's house? One thing's for certain: his mom WILL NOT be happy.

It wouldn't be called Halloween without the good old Jack o' Lantern! Tricking Jack,a true manifestation of the Halloween Realmis unheard of... The scarecrow doesn't even have to answer the door, he is literally part of the props!

Thankfully, Jack loves a good trick, and he is more than ready to spook any poor soul that stumbles upon his cabin in exchange for a treat.

Of course you can! With the "Trick or Treat" challenge complete, the gates leading out of the Halloween Realm are open ajar. So, off you go!

What was that? A giant PUMPKIN GOLEM is blocking the way? Oh, well. Tough luck!

Beat it, or eat it. The clock is ticking! With sunrise only moments away, can you make it out in time? Or, will you be trapped forever within the Halloween Realm!
