ODE is a complete 78-card Rider-Waite-Smith tarot deck — every card of the standard arc, plus two replacement cards, included with every deck. Eighty in all.

It reads exactly like the deck you already know. It looks like nothing else you own.

The Overture

"Music is the only architecture you cannot enter — so we built its doors in ink and light."

Before there were recordings, a symphony lived in one place only: the hands of the players, and the ears of the room. ODE asks what the Ninth would be if it had been born with a brush instead of a quill — eighty cards painted the way that music was composed: slowly, devotionally, and without a single note wasted.

Creation Inspiration

We've spent six years inside one idea — and now we're handing you its world through tarot.

In a century with no recordings and no reason to hurry, attention was a form of devotion. Painters treated a single hand as a whole composition. Engravers cut light itself into copper. A frame could cost more than the room it hung in — because what it held was believed to outlive everyone in it.

ODE was drawn in that spirit. The Renaissance gave us our anatomy and our architectural proportion; the Baroque became our grammar — the theatrical light, the gilded borders, the belief that detail is not decoration but reverence; and Beethoven's Ninth — the music you know without knowing its name — became our score. Across four years and more than 1,200 hours of pure hand-illustration, every card was drawn as if the century were watching.

The Art History Behind the Cards

This is the part we are proudest of. Every Major Arcana card is built on a real source.

  • The Magician takes his stance from Marco d'Agrate's 1562 marble sculpture Saint Bartholomew Flayed in the Duomo di Milano — the saint standing in his own shed skin. Behind him, set into the dark, are the opening lines of the Emerald Tablet. The card carries its own inscription: the flesh is the final curtain; draw it back, and eternity appears.
  • Ace of Pentacles is drawn from Leonardo's notebooks — the machines, the spirals, the handwriting itself.
  • Ten of Cups belongs to Beethoven: new strings of fate, trembling through the movement.
  • Ace of Wands comes from the west front of Reims Cathedral, where stone was asked to behave like fire.

The Fibonacci golden spiral runs through the composition of all eighty cards. Solomonic and Kabbalistic sigils sit inside the borders and in the architectural stonework, where they were always meant to sit.

Every deck ships with a hardcover guidebook — the source behind every card, one by one.

Two editions, two art styles

Two collector tiers. Two art styles. One sky, read two ways — the Astrolabe for the night, the Sundial for the sun.

Rooted in the classical maxim that pure line must precede colour, each tier comes first in the uncompromising bones of Graphite, and then in the earthen alchemy of Mineral Pigment.

ASTROLABE — GRAPHITE EDITION

"Before clocks, the night itself kept the hour."

The standard edition, in pure line and graphite grey. Every stroke is a decision that refused to be erased — cold light, silver-grey, the silence between notes. Housed in a basalt-black box, classical inscriptions pressed in reverse embossing, the Ode lyre foiled in gold. Double-polished matte edges.

Not numbered, and not limited — and not a single step taken out to make it that way.

ASTROLABE — MINERAL PIGMENT EDITION

"Before clocks, the night itself kept the hour."

The standard edition, in mineral colour — pigment that remembers being earth. Warm grounds, bronze light, and greater visual weight. Housed in an umber box, embossing with a hot-foiled Baroque frame centred on The Magician, the Ode lyre foiled in gold. Double-polished matte edges.

Not numbered, and not limited — and not a single step taken out to make it that way.

SUNDIAL — GRAPHITE EDITION

"The sun writes one sentence a day. The sundial keeps them all."

Everything above, in graphite, raised six further steps and set in a magnetic book-style collector's box:

  • Cast Relief Medallion — a sculpted metal relief that attaches magnetically to the lid, and lifts off
  • Filigree Knockout Cold Foil — the foil is cut through rather than stamped on, so the artwork beneath breathes through it
  • Continuous Panoramic Scroll — fan all eighty cards and the backs resolve into one unbroken silver-grey fresco
  • Motion-on-Turn Flipbook — every card edge is printed with its own frame, so riffle the deck and the image moves
  • Spun-Silver Embossed Gilded Edges
  • Numbered — 5,000 in this art style

SUNDIAL — MINERAL PIGMENT EDITION

"The sun writes one sentence a day. The sundial keeps them all."

The same six steps, in warm earth and mineral colour, inside a bronze-toned magnetic box:

  • Cast Relief Medallion — a sculpted metal relief that attaches magnetically to the lid, and lifts off
  • Filigree Knockout Cold Foil — cut through the mineral pigments, not stamped over them
  • Continuous Panoramic Scroll — fan all eighty cards and the backs unite into one rich Renaissance fresco
  • Motion-on-Turn Flipbook — every card edge is printed with its own frame, so riffle the deck and the image moves
  • Molten-Gold Embossed Gilded Edges
  • Numbered — 5,000 in this art style

Early-bird terms are listed in the rewards column beside this page, where they stay current. The early bird closes 48 hours after launch.

Shipping and timeline

Rewards ship February 2027, worldwide.

You will receive a shipping survey after the campaign closes. Please fill it in — a missing address is the single most common reason a deck ends up sitting on a warehouse shelf instead of arriving on your table. Tracking is sent by message once your parcel leaves us.

EU backers — DDP (Delivered Duty Paid). Following the recent change to EU import rules, a €5 charge applies to each SKU in your order — €3 customs duty and €2 handling — collected through the pledge manager after the campaign, before shipping. Nothing is due on delivery.

Everyone else — any import duties or local taxes fall to the backer, and we cannot absorb them.

About WohStudios

Where Mysticism Meets Modern Craftsmanship.

Founded in Hong Kong (2018), WohStudios emerged from the creative fusion of WohStudio and Irtysh Creative, officially unified under the WohStudios banner in 2021.

We have published more than thirty tarot and card projects. Twelve of them we ran ourselves on Kickstarter — all twelve funded, all twelve shipped.

The rest were made with partners, or released on other platforms: other creators' campaigns, other markets, the same studio behind them.

Different artists, different worlds, one constant: the decks arrive.

We commission the artist for each deck — never a house style, never a template. Each one is chosen for the world in front of them. ODE took six years, and twelve hundred hours of painting. The hands change. The standard doesn't.
