Le tag « Jeu de plateau » est trop générique : il sera retiré. Jusqu'à 3 tags du site. Le tag STL retire la fiche du catalogue (fichier 3D, pas un jeu). Ensuite plus de modification ici : un mauvais tag se signale.

Intro

OPOLIS Build. Destroy. Rake in the cash. City planning is serious business. Opolis is a strategic tile-laying game where you compete to see who can create the most populous city. Players will manage and balance the income, population, and shape of their city. No one game goes the same way; nobody knows which empty lots and developments will be for sale each time you play! A new game from Lake Effect games, makers of Mission to the Moon!

Overview

Overview Opolis is a love letter to building sim games like SimCity and Rollercoaster Tycoon–with a twist. Every road laid and building chosen can alter the landscape for all players. In this game, planning is key. Better buildings require either a certain amount of nearby population, a certain amount of nearby income, or both. You must place your buildings carefully to ensure people live near enough to the places they will frequent. You can also strategically place bus stops to link them all together while at the same time managing your city treasury. Each game is unique, as cards are drawn in a different order each game, leading to endless replayability. There is no correct way to play; build a sprawling city, or center your city in a concentrated, dense district. It's your Opolis!

How to Play

How to Play: Planning is key! The goal of Opolis is to build the city with the greatest population. Players take turns purchasing and building properties and developments from a common market on their turns. Each city will take on a different shape, and each player is building on the same play surface, so space is limited! On your turn you can do the following in any order: Build roads to expand your available development space. A good city needs proper infrastructure! Build bus stops to connect different areas of your city. There’s no better way to guarantee that people will be able to get around. Develop land to expand your city! Buy a card (or several) from the market and place it in your city. Remember, many cards have requirements on where they can be placed depending on how many people live nearby and how much income is in the area-- this is part of the strategy. Refresh the market. Don’t see anything you like in the market? Pay to refresh it! At the end of each turn the market is refreshed to make sure there are plenty of choices of new potential developments for your growing cities.
This is a real photo of people trying out Opolis! Each city takes on its own shape. Players not only compete for the developments and properties available to buy and build, but also playable space at their table!

Our Team

The team Lake Effect Games was founded in 2022. We are a group of friends from Wisconsin who love playing games together. Whether it's our ongoing Dungeons and Dragons campaign (9 years and counting), or trying out new games, we’ve found that nothing really beats letting your competitive and creative spirits out over a game with friends! Eventually, this love of gaming led our team to try our hands at creating our first game, Mission to the Moon. Over the last several years, we’ve been focused on getting Mission to the Moon available online, at conventions, and in brick and mortar game stores. Finally, we decided we wanted to make something more ambitious. That more ambitious project is Opolis! Josh: Commander in Chief Josh is the brains behind the operation. He comes up with the bright ideas for our games (with the exception of Down to Dig). Without him, Lake Effect Games wouldn’t exist! Natalee: Graphics & Art Natalee is one of our graphic designers and artists for our games. She designed the box for Opolis, and handled all the graphic design for the game. Tyler: Pixel Art Tyler created all of the pixel art for Opolis! And boy is there a lot of it! He also created the poster. Sam: Business Manager Sam handles all of Lake Effect Games’ marketing, social media, and is our main voice at conventions and booths. Paige: Graphics & Art Paige is another one of our graphic designers and artists on the team. She handled extras for Opolis, and created our other game, Down to Dig!
