Orbitstar: Expedition to Darwin IV is a game where 1-4 players take on the role of human scientists in the year 2358 AD, exploring the alien world Darwin IV in search of new life.

JOURNEY IN PURSUIT OF DISCOVERY - Pilot your Hovercone across biomes to locate new lifeforms, or compete in the study of species your fellow scientists have already discovered.

A WORLD OF VARIETY - 49 extraterrestrial species await discovery, each more wondrous than the last. But beware: some creatures don't take kindly to being studied. Will you be the wary researcher, or the bold explorer?

STUDY ALIEN LIFE - Scientists compete to be the one who has studied the most extraterrestrial life on Darwin IV. Each scientist will share their work with their benign custodians, the Yma, earning them reputation.

NAVIGATE PLANET EVENTS - Darwin IV is no safe haven. Scientists must brave hostile environments, unpredictable weather and steer clear of deadly off-world threats.

EVOLVE YOUR EXPEDITION - Expand your collection of Action Tokens to fuel bigger discoveries, plan your routes across biomes, and balance bold exploration against the planet's dangers.

EVERY DISCOVERY COUNTS - Earn reputation for your research as you explore, then select valuable requisitions when you return to refuel at the Orbitstar for extra renown.

*CURRENCY - Please note that all currency conversions in the graphics on this campaign are done from NZD, and are rounded from the exchange rate the week of the campaign’s launch. The final amounts charged will be in NZD, and will be based on the current exchange rate as determined and processed by Kickstarter.

Pledge Over Time is a flexible payment option from Kickstarter for pledges of USD $125 (NZ$200) or more. 📦 Shipping is charged separately, via the Kickstarter pledge manager after the campaign ends.

Estimates - Please note that the estimates are shown in USD, but the final charge will be processed in NZD, as we are a New Zealand-based publisher. If this campaign is more successful than we anticipate, it may be possible for us to negotiate better shipping rates. At this stage, we have no plans for a significant retail release. We'd love to offer better rates(!), but as we are a small publisher with limited releases, it's difficult for us to secure these.

This project is UK, EU, USA, Canada, Australia, and China customs-friendly. That means once you’ve paid your shipping and VAT/taxes in the pledge manager, you won’t face any additional customs duties or import fees on delivery in these regions. Shipping and applicable taxes (VAT, GST, etc.) will be calculated and charged after the campaign in the pledge manager, closer to the time of fulfilment. If you live outside these regions, your country may charge taxes or customs fees directly upon delivery.

USA Tariffs - If, during the pledge manager, the tariff on imports to the USA is still in place, all USA backers will be charged based on the tariff rate in effect at the time shipping is collected.

OTHER LANGUAGES

We will not be localizing the game for this Kickstarter campaign. At the moment, our focus is the launch of the English Edition. We anticipate this content will become available in other languages in time, as our partner, Dara Studios, will be actively promoting it after a successful campaign. We will be utilising Kickstarter’s Pledge Manager following the campaign. This is where you will be able to confirm your shipping details, pay for shipping and any applicable taxes, and add any last-minute items to your pledge. We will notify all backers when the Pledge Manager opens and provide plenty of notice before addresses are locked for fulfillment. We are planning to open the pledge manager in Q4 2026.
