How to Play 🌑

The goal of Phase is to collect the most Stars by creating pairs or sequences of the moon phases. You'll take turns playing a card on the board, and when you make a pair or a sequence, you'll get to claim those cards with Stars.

When you make a Phase Pair, Whole Moon Pair, or complete a Sequence that includes another player's Star Tokens, you'll capture them and replace them with your own.

End Game: Once the board is full, that Stage ends and each player collects their Stars from the board and adds them to their Bank. After two Stages, the winner is the person with the most Stars in their Bank.

Complexity: Phase takes about 2 minutes to learn and even less time to set up! If you can make pairs and sequences then you can play this game. The strategy lies in the card placement on the board and playing Lunatic cards.

What's in the Box?🌙

CARDS - All cards are printed on Superior Casino Classic Black Core 12pt (330 gsm), classic smooth coated finished both sides. There are 8 moon phases, from waning to waxing, and 7 of each card. Deluxe Edition will be foiled on the card face.

LUNATIC CARDS - These action cards add a level of strategy and variability to gameplay. There are two copies of each Lunatic card (8) in the deck, for a total deck size of 72 cards.

BOARDS - Boards are UV printed on .030 Polystyrene (sign-grade material!) for durability and longevity. There are three double-sided boards, and each side is unique!

STARS - 3D printed in high quality Bambu Silk and Metallic Gold. Small enough not to be obtrusive, while thick enough to be easily picked up. Base game comes with 25 of each color: blue, gold, purple, and white, as well as 5 Five-Point Tokens, 10 Ten-Point Tokens, and 5 Twenty-Point Tokens.

RULES and PLAYER AIDS - Beautifully laid out rulebook with clear and thorough explanations of how to play. Player Aids have a quick summary of turn actions and scoring.

Phase is exclusive to Kickstarter

It won't be available for retail - not because I want to prey on FOMO buyers, but because the cost of production is too high to set a reasonable retail price. MSRP recommends 5x-8x the cost of production, and the reward tiers are well below that.

I've done my best to create a board game as ethically as possible. The vast majority of the game is made by a local small business, not overseas. I have built a fairly grassroots campaign, giving as little money as possible to corporations, supporting minority creators and small businesses where I can. As a queer, non-binary small business owner, it's been incredibly important to me that I support those who value equality, equity, diversity, and inclusion.
