Pitch Clearers
A fast, filthy loot-drafting card game set after the final whistle.
The match is finished. The crowd’s gone. The ref has stopped pretending he saw anything.
What’s left behind is a muddy, trampled mess of valuables, souvenirs, loose coins, spilled drinks, abandoned gear, and things that are probably best handled with gloves.
In Pitch Clearers, you and your rivals dive into the aftermath of a brutal fantasy football match, scavenging across the pitch, dugouts, and stands before anyone else can get to the good stuff.
You’re not cleaning up. You’re picking the whole place clean.
And if you can ruin somebody else’s plans while you’re at it, even better.
Easy to learn, quick to play, and designed for hobby fans, friends, and family members who might not normally join you at the tabletop.
What are you fighting over?
The deck is packed with the sort of post-match “treasure” that makes this world so much fun: star memorabilia left behind in the stands, loose gold coins kicked into the mud, unused tickets, suspicious medical supplies from the dugout, filthy tricks, spilled drinks, and a few things best not examined too closely.
These are the cards you’ll be fighting over in the draft — the ones you snap-pick, the ones you can’t believe got passed to you, and the ones you take purely so nobody else can have them.
Star Signed Collectibles
Proper star memorabilia — the sort of stuff you grab the moment it appears, because someone else absolutely will if you don’t.
Signed balls, battered helmets, and ripped-up jerseys might not look glamorous by the time you find them, but to the right collector they’re still worth fighting over.
Grab the right mix, build your haul, and hope nobody spots what you’re trying to complete before the next pass.
Gold Coins
Not glamorous, but nobody leaves gold lying in the mud.
Gold Coins are simple, tempting, and dangerous to ignore. They’re the sort of cards that quietly build up while everyone else is distracted by the flashier loot.
Sometimes you take them because they help you.
Sometimes you take them because you really don’t want someone else to get them.
Dirty Tricks
The ref’s gone, the rules are more like suggestions, and your rivals’ plans are there to be ruined.
Dirty Player’s Boot is exactly what it sounds like: filthy, direct, and best used in numbers.
Sneaky Git! is for those moments when playing fair just feels like a waste of a perfectly good opportunity.
These are the cards that turn a polite little drafting game into something much nastier.
Magic Sponge and Body Parts
A Magic Sponge can “fix” almost anything… which is impressive, considering what it’s usually soaked in.
Smashed teeth, gouged eyes, and severed heads are all part of the post-match economy. Horrible? Yes. Worth something? Also yes.
With the right timing, these cards can become much more valuable than they first appear, which makes them some of the most satisfying cards to grab before anyone else realises what you’re building.
Unused Match Tickets
Clean, intact, and somehow still worth something.
Unused Match Tickets are easy to overlook, but they’re exactly the kind of quiet little find that can turn into a tidy haul if you keep picking them up.
They’re not flashy.
They’re not disgusting.
They’re just useful — which might make them even more annoying when someone else keeps taking them.
Spilled Tankards
Tankards headed back to the tavern — or at least someone’s idea of a tavern.
Spilled Tankards don’t feel like much at first. They’re messy, awkward, and probably smell terrible. But by the end of the game, you might be very glad you bothered collecting them.
Or very annoyed that you didn’t.
How does the game play?
At its heart, Pitch Clearers is a pick-and-pass loot-drafting card game.
Each round, you’ll choose a card from your hand, reveal your pick, and pass the remaining cards to the next player. Over 3 rounds, you’ll build your haul, chase combos, block your rivals, and try to turn the mess left behind into the highest score.
Some cards are simple finds.
Some reward set collection.
Some depend on timing.
And some are there purely to stick the boot into someone else’s plan.
You’ll constantly be making that horrible little decision:
Do I take what I need… or take what they need?
Why it’s fun
Pitch Clearers is quick, nasty, easy to share with friends and family, and full of those little moments where everyone at the table suddenly cares about the same card.
You’ll get quick turns, proper table chat, plans forming, plans collapsing, and that wonderful moment when someone takes the exact card you needed.
It plays well with 2–5 players, and really shines at 3–5 when the table is full of chaos.
It is also designed to be easy to share with friends and family who might not know the fantasy football hobby. The theme gives them a fun glimpse into the strange, filthy world we all enjoy, while the simple pick-and-pass gameplay means they can join in without needing to understand leagues, teams, or complicated tabletop rules.
What’s in the box?
Pitch Clearers is a complete standalone card game built around a 108-card deck, with tight rules, clear scoring, and plenty of nasty little moments.
Game details:
2–5 players
Around 15 minutes
Simple pick-and-pass gameplay
3 rounds per game
108 cards
My aim is simple: it should be fun, readable, satisfying to play, and easy to get to the table.
Not fiddly. Not fragile. Not something you need a dissertation to explain.
Just a fast, filthy loot-drafting game you can teach in minutes and immediately want to play again.

Card Materials & Packaging Concepts
Pitch Clearers will be produced as a proper tabletop card game, with materials and packaging chosen to give it a premium feel.
The game will include 108 standard poker-sized playing cards, measuring 2.5" x 3.5" / 63.5 mm x 88.9 mm. These are the familiar card dimensions many players already know, and should also work with common poker-sized card sleeves.
The cards are currently planned for production on durable 300gsm ivory-core stock with a smooth varnished finish, giving them a satisfying feel for shuffling, drafting and repeated play. If funding allows, I intend to push the quality further with a premium 310gsm blue- or black-core stock. The real upgrade is not simply the extra weight: these denser, more opaque cores can provide a crisper snap, better resistance to bending and a more refined handling experience. I will test the available materials with the manufacturer and select the combination of core, surface and finish that best suits the artwork and makes every shuffle feel properly premium.
Each copy of the game will also come with a rulebook and full-colour printed cardboard packaging, designed to hold the deck neatly and present the game as a finished boxed product.
What is shown below is a visualisation of the two packaging options currently being considered, along with their internal card trays, which may be made from either card or vacuum-formed plastic. The final box style has not yet been selected, and the construction, internal layout and final kick-ass artwork all remain works in progress.
Should the campaign fund, I will continue working closely with the manufacturer to choose the option that offers the best balance of presentation, durability, practicality, and production cost. I will also share regular updates as the packaging design develops.
The visuals shown here are deliberately blank so the box construction can be seen clearly. The final packaging will feature fully developed artwork, and my aim is to make it every bit as bold, characterful, and kick-ass as the game inside.
Rules & Development
One important thing to know: the rules are still being played and refined. During the campaign — and (if funded) throughout the production phase — I’ll continue to run playtests and make small tweaks if and where needed. That could include:
- Clarifying wording so nothing is ambiguous at the table
- Adjusting card quantities for balance and pacing
- Making scoring tweaks to keep decisions tight
- Making small art or layout updates so cards read cleanly and feel great to play
This isn’t about making anything cheaper or easier for me — it’s about making sure the final game is as fun, clear, and satisfying as it can possibly be when it lands on your table.
Pitch Clearers was inspired by popular pick-and-pass drafting games — the kind of “pick one, pass the rest” system that’s become a modern classic for a reason. I love how fast it gets people playing, how quickly the table starts talking, and how brutal the decisions get when everyone’s chasing the same loot.
From there, I’ve taken that core idea and pushed it deep into the Pitch Clearers world — adding new mechanics, nastier interactions, and combo systems that fit the post-match scavenger theme.
Why I made it
I’ve wanted to make a game for a long time — not a sprawling, rules-heavy monster, but something you can play between matches at a tournament, in the bar, after a league game, with family members who might not normally join you in the hobby, or whenever you’ve only got a bit of time on your hands.
I also wanted something that feels like it belongs around the fantasy football hobby we all love: boots, body parts, trophies, dirty tricks, ridiculous loot, and that wonderful moment when your carefully laid plan comes together… or gets completely stomped on by your mate across the table.
The match might be over. But the pitch, dugouts, and stands are still full of things worth fighting over.
Why Kickstarter?
Because I want to do this properly.
I have spent years designing, producing, and delivering products to this community, and I will bring that same care to Pitch Clearers.
Kickstarter lets me fund the project in a way that keeps the risks down and, if it funds, gets the game into the hands of the community that’s supported my work for years.
I run Charlie Victor Products solo, and I’m treating this like everything else I make: I want it to feel great, look great, and actually turn up as promised.
If this sounds like your kind of game — quick, filthy, and full of terrible decisions — I’d love for you to be part of making Pitch Clearers a reality.

Clearer Tax Collection for International Backers
Shipping is added to your pledge during the campaign at the rate shown for your destination. Any applicable VAT or sales tax is not included in the displayed reward or shipping prices and will be calculated separately through Kickstarter’s Pledge Manager after the campaign.
For backers in the United Kingdom, European Union, United States and Canada, applicable VAT or sales tax will be calculated based on your shipping address and the rewards you have selected. These taxes are not included in your original pledge and will normally be collected when you confirm your shipping details and finalise your order through Kickstarter’s Pledge Manager after the campaign.
This should make the tax process clearer and help ensure that you are charged the correct amount for your location and reward selection.
Please be aware that tax collected through Kickstarter does not necessarily include every possible customs duty, import charge or local handling fee. These can vary by destination and may still be payable when your reward enters your country.
Final thoughts
Pitch Clearers is built to be quick, thematic, funny, and just the right amount of nasty.
It’s a game about grabbing what you can, watching what everyone else wants, and making awful little drafting decisions while your mates complain across the table.
If that sounds like your kind of clean-up job…
Welcome to the pitch.
