Bundle & Contest Winner
The Best of the Indie Scene, In One Bundle.
At the end of last year, Chris Backe and I put out a call to the tabletop community: Show us your best Print & Play designs. The response blew us away. We received 64 incredible submissions from passionate indie designers around the world. We played, tested, and debated until we narrowed it down to the top finalists—and then we handed the microphone over to you. The community voted, the dust settled, and the winner emerged.
Feel free to check out the first contest's restrictions:
As active members of the community we always see designers having the dream of getting their game professionally developed and published.
And making this dream come true was what we wanted to offer as the contest's price!
In other words: money, fame and things you can buy from that! :)
Alec now owns 50% of his developed, designed and arted-up game and has his stake in this campaign. We wish him all the best and hope that this campaign opens a new chapter in his game development journey. <3
Much love, Alec! Your game is awesome!

Now, we want to bundle the winning game from the contest and two of our own games into one package.
Who is running the contest? Chris Backe is the designer of print-and-play games like Around the World in 15 Minutes, Starfront Scouting Academy, and Packing Party. He’s published traditional games with iDVenture, Galen's Games, and Keep Exploring Games. He’s the co-founder of Virtual Playtesting, has written a book about playtesting, and founded Tabletop Publishers to help designers pitch their games better.
Florian Fiedler, the designer behind Paper Tactics, specializes in crafting thinky solo Print & Play experiences like the community driven formats Roll4Rum or Essence. Operating under the mantra “Print. Think. Win.”, he combines accessible design with engaging mechanics. As co-organizer of the PnP Bundle, Florian leverages his experience in successful PnP crowdfunding and graphic design to help fellow indie creators bring their best concepts to market.
But what is the winning game?
For a prototype Alec delivered quite the layout already.
Now it was on us, to help him develop the game (Chris Backe), add the graphic shell (Florian Fiedler) and commission awesome art (Vittoria Pompolani @bonedustuff)
Echoes of Tomorrow by Alec Hoptroff
In this 18-card game, you are trapped inside a never-ending nightmare where your regrets from the past, worries about the future, and insecurities about the present have taken the form of mythical creatures.
To escape, you must gather enough strength and courage to defeat them. But whenever you fail, the nightmare leaves behind a memory that makes you stronger for the nights ahead.

Centi by Florian Fiedler
This game combines two of my favorite things: a deck of cards and polyominoes!
You draft cards from a shared market and use them to build five-card poker hands. At the same time, every drafted card gives you a polyomino shape to draw onto your bonus sheet. Fill its different sections, and you begin unlocking multipliers and other useful abilities.
The first player to reach 100 points wins, so it becomes a race between building stronger hands and unlocking the right bonuses.
Rooftop Roses by Chris Backe
In this game, you live in a 75-story skyscraper with a communal rose garden way up on the roof. A peaceful little place where everyone can plant flowers, water them, and enjoy the view.
But, of course, everyone wants the best part of the garden.
So you roll three dice, use two to decide where your rose will be planted, and use the final one to water a row or column. Every flower helps you fight for control of its row and column, so this cozy rooftop garden can get competitive rather quickly.
The Past, the Present and the Future!
Well, well...
Will there be more contests?
We definitely hope so!
Running this contest has tought us a lot and has been an interesting and exciting experience.
By backing this project, you aren't just getting three games, you are directly supporting the indie designers who poured their hearts into these designs, and you are helping fund the prize pool for the winning creator, and make future contests viable. <3
Maybe even with mutiple games from the community - let's see!
We will have a post-mortem, come up with topics for a new contest, and possible timeline during and after this campaign, and we hope to make more first-time designers' dream come true!
If you want to support us, connect with us or simply stay up to date about future projects and contest, feel free to check out some of our work and join our Discord communities. <3
