Pledging
Images you see here are renders of the final product and photos of the working prototype. All editions use the same framework with the difference being the design of the tin, deck, and Pocket Playbook. Currently the Original Edition is in early stages of production with the other editions' production awaiting funding.
About Me
My name is Zach, and I enjoy card games. Growing up, I spent a lot of time in class pretending to do my work while playing Palace with a friend. The best part was that we both were cheating like our lives depended on it, but it didn't matter unless you were caught. I'll remember playing that for the rest of my life, and that's the kind of experience I want to share.
A while back, I wanted to play a card game but wasn't certain I knew the rules, so I looked up the game to clarify the question. I had to stop playing, grab my phone, and try to read the rules while only actually seeing a small portion of the text at a time because of the ads on the page.
I thought about how nice it would be to have the rules for popular games in a book, so you didn't have to take out a phone to look them up nor be visually assaulted by popups and other ads. And thus, the Pocket Card Kit was born.
Moving forward from that moment, I realized how often I would be interested in doing something to pass the time that didn't involve my phone while away from home. Whether sitting in an airport on a layover, stopping for the night on a road trip, or out in nature camping, a pocket-sized card kit makes it possible to play a quick game with your group to keep the good vibes going without relying on an internet connection or a screen. Completely self-contained, you won't need anything to play the games included in the kit besides the deck of cards and at least yourself.
In the spirit of being self-contained, I thought about the tin and its contents. I realized every ounce counts in certain circumstances (backpacking, ultralight travel, etc), so the Pocket Playbook has been designed to slip right into the tuck box with the deck of cards. All you need to do is remove a few of the extra cards from the box and the Pocket Playbook slips right in their place so you can leave the tin behind if necessary.
I thank you for your support, and don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns.
