The portrait refresh brings 2,148 additional static player portraits into the current build while retaining 15 previously installed repair portraits. Blue backgrounds, white jerseys, club-logo badges and compact mood indicators keep player profiles readable without blinking-frame movement. Further likeness review remains ongoing.

Tactical 2D remains the heart of Matchday: circles for offense, squares for defense, coordinator advice, fatigue management and the Gridiron Live broadcast presentation. The fresh screenshots below show the current player profile, depth chart and coaching scrimmage.

TACTICAL 2D MATCHDAY — v1.28

An original American football coaching and franchise-management game. Circles identify the offense, squares identify the defense, and team colors keep the action readable. You make the decisions; AI players execute every snap.

WHAT IS NEW

• Clearer matchday spacing separates the scoreboard, field controls and commentary.

• Improved handoff paths and blocking engagements reduce excessive negative runs caused by movement bugs.

• Shorter throws are more reliable under equivalent conditions. Accuracy, catching, defense, pressure, fatigue and staff ability still influence the outcome.

• Automatic substitutions stay quiet when calls are delegated, with fewer repeated fatigue recommendations.

• Portrait flashing fixes, in-place depth-chart sorting, position filters and play-diagram previews.

• Each club begins with 45 players and six empty signing places, subject to the salary cap.

• Veterans over 30 can consider retirement annually. Ask them to stay one more season; age-related decline begins at 32.

TWO WAYS TO COACH

Call offensive and defensive plays with coordinator recommendations, or delegate playcalling while you manage strategy, timeouts and halftime adjustments. Watch quarterback progressions, pocket escapes, live interception returns, special teams and replays in Tactical 2D.

BUILD THE ORGANIZATION

Lead one of sixteen fictional clubs based in real American cities. Manage contracts, free agency, trades, scouting, staff and facilities. Set your depth chart, develop position-specific skills, monitor injuries and fatigue, and follow season and career statistics.

Pocket Dynasty v1.28.6 — Bring the Noise

New home-touchdown cheering and a replacement DEFENSE chant make home-field moments more distinct. Away-team third downs lift the crowd, with the background mix lowered beneath the chant. Reactions follow the actual home team, even when you control the visitors.

Gridiron Live now presents pregame, halftime and postgame reports. Brighter home cheerleader celebrations, animated fan signs and five quarterback cadences add atmosphere. Live-play overlays step aside while the football is moving, and coordinator recommendations use clearer matchup and risk language.
