For more than two years, we have been putting our Quick Mats to the test, consistently using the same mats on our Warhammer tables at the Kraken Dice game shop in San Diego. Despite numerous washes due to soda spills and crumbs from snacks, they remain in pristine condition. Our customers at the game shop absolutely adore them. While some neoprene mats have shown signs of fraying and peeling at the edges, our Quick Mats have proven to be durable over time, maintaining their shape perfectly when spread out.

Keeping your Quick Mats looking fresh and pristine is effortless with the right maintenance routine. To clean your mats, simply machine wash them on a cold, gentle cycle. Once washed, maintain their shape and integrity by laying them flat or hanging them to dry naturally. Please remember to avoid bleaching, tumble drying, and ironing, as these methods can damage the material. If you happen to notice any wrinkles or creases, they can be easily eliminated using a hand steamer. For a quick on-the-go fix, try our favorite pro tip: simply spritz the minor wrinkle with a little water, pat it down gently, and watch the crease disappear.

Our mats are cut to exact standards demanded by our customers.  Every mat is cut to exactly the correct dimensions for home and tournament play.  Our mats are designed to maintain their size without stretching or shrinking over time.

Quick Mats: 12 Years in the Making

My journey with the Quick Mats fabric began way back in 2014, when I was preparing to launch Game Matz, a company specializing in custom gaming mats that ultimately funded four successful Kickstarter campaigns. While neoprene-backed mats dominated the industry at the time, I always sought an alternative to their bulky storage requirements. By 2018, I was ready to launch a fifth Kickstarter dedicated entirely to Quick Mats, a product that everyone who tested it immediately fell in love with. However, the universe intervened overnight when a small side project of mine, Kraken Dice, experienced unprecedented, explosive growth. Navigating that sudden expansion required all my attention, eventually leading me to absorb Game Matz into the Kraken Dice brand. Just as things stabilized and a 2020 launch was planned, the COVID-19 pandemic struck, followed by unexpected family losses, pushing the project once again to the back burner.

Fast forward to 2024: with the opening of the Kraken Dice Game Shop, I found myself diving back into wargaming and immediately printed a fresh batch of Quick Mats for our tables. After two years of heavy daily use, surviving spilled sodas, greasy food, and constant setup and teardown, these mats still look nearly brand new, all while remaining remarkably easy to clean and store. Seeing how much our customers love their effortless setup and durability, I knew the time was right to officially introduce custom-printed Quick Mats to the wider gaming community. I am thrilled to return to my roots and work one-on-one with fellow gamers, personally designing each custom mat to ensure you get the absolute best game mat for your upcoming tabletop adventures.
