Rainsporest Odyssey is a brand new campaign setting for D&D 5e that includes new races, subclasses, monsters, magic items, and a winding jungle mega-dungeon to explore! Mysterious mushrooms have taken over the rainforest! Fungal threads twist through the jungle, infecting every creature they touch. Huge tortoises carry ancient fortresses on their backs, swelling with massive truffles. Bioluminescent jaguars stalk the floodplains, rippling with radiant foxfire. Monster salmon erupt with flaming spores, starving for a fight! 

But our story begins in the peaceful village of...

Sunnyupside Town

The Sea of Fog stretches across the horizon, a blanket of clouds that has obscured the world below for as long as anyone can remember. A narrow mountain sticks out of the Sea of Fog, as solitary as an island. Perched on this mountain is a small village perpetually bathed in sunshine. The population lives together happily, protected by their patron spirit, the Cosmic Crocodile. 

No one has ever left Sunnyupside. To descend into the Sea of Fog means certain death! But lately, the town’s natural resources have begun to dwindle, and strange mushroom monsters scale the mountain, spreading fear and doubt among the once-cheerful townsfolk.

Our story begins on an always-sunny afternoon on the first day of the Crocodile Festival, the smell of carnival food and music filling the air as villagers take to the streets to party. Little do they know of the lurking danger approaching this happy scene, waiting to strike… 

When these rampaging beasts attack the Crocodile Festival, it's up to you and your friends to defend the town and track down the source of this supernatural fungal infection.

Cooking

Utilize a new cooking system to whip up scrumptious and strange meals for your party on the fly! The rainsporest is full of unusual ingredients just waiting to be tasted. Harvest supernatural mushrooms from monsters and use them to make mushroom sandwiches that can aid your party members or devastate your enemies! 

The best ingredients are the hardest to find... Epic mushroom monstrosities await you in the Abyss. Challenge your party with 6 new Abyss Boss fights, each with their own lair actions and powerful mycelium magic! The Abyss holds many secrets, including ancient magic weapons, subterranean seas, and sprawling ant colonies. You can make some incredible sandwiches from the mushrooms harvested here- if you can survive!

Play as as one of 8 unique new races and subraces from Sunnyupside Town, each with exciting abilities that help you tap into the ancient magic of the rainsporest!

Kickstarter will not charge you for shipping when the campaign ends. You will pay for shipping and handling via a program called Backerkit when the book actually ships out to you (ETA: Spring - Summer 2026.)

The shipping price chart below is an estimation of shipping costs based on current 2025 shipping data, using our product's weight and size. These numbers are subject to change. Adding add-on items to your order may increase the cost of shipping somewhat.

Rainsporest Odyssey is 100% human-made art. All creators working on Rainsporest sign an anti-AI clause. We're dedicated to protecting and restoring the environment and are fundamentally opposed to the waste involved in the process of AI generation.

We're proud supporters of the Kākāpō Recovery program in New Zealand, which works to protect the critically endangered kākāpō parrot. This cheeky flightless bird is the inspiration for Rainsporest Odyssey's avogapo race. These parrots are nocturnal, and would fit right into the endless night of the rainsporest! Just like in the game, real life kākāpō are threatened by deadly fungal aspergillosis infections. Loss of habitat and predation from invasive species also threaten them.

How Can We Help the Kākāpō?

Nat Two Press is sponsoring Rahotu, a kākāpō who survived an aspergillosis infection as a chick and is now a healthy adult and an ambassador for his species. We're sponsoring him for the next 12 months as he leads his species forward. 
You can also help support this program by symbolically "adopting" a bird, donating directly to the program, or just spreading the word about this little-known species.

Thanks to the efforts of the Kākāpō Recovery program, this special bird's numbers are increasing! In 2022, a wonderfully successful breeding season brought their numbers up from 197 to more than 250 individuals.
