Rapidum: A race that’s also a war!
Par Michael Baldrich
Statut actuel
How to Play?
Roll a die and move. Whoever gets to the Finish Line first, wins.
You can land on Blank Spaces and your turn ends, but if you land on Effect Spaces, you should follow what the symbol represents.
What makes Rapidum special?
At first glance, Rapidum might look like a simple "roll and move" board game. You roll the dice, move your piece, and race everyone else to the Finish Line.
Sounds easy, right? Not so fast.
The real fun begins when the Effect Cards come into play. In Rapidum, being ahead doesn't mean you're going to win. The race can change in a single turn, and the player who looks like they're losing could suddenly be the one celebrating.
You could be ONE SPACE AWAY FROM WINNING when your friend plays a card and sends you all the way BACK TO THE BEGINNING.
But don't worry, you might get your revenge. You could exchange places with that same friend, sending them back to the start just when they thought victory was theirs. Suddenly, you're the one crossing the Finish Line. That's Rapidum.
The Effect Cards are what make every game unpredictable. Use them to give yourself an advantage, slow down your opponents, make them lose turns, force them to discard cards, or just cause a little chaos.
The Effect Cards:
Choose a player to RETURN TO THE BEGINNING!
Walk three spaces, walk six spaces, or go back three spaces.
Exchange places with another player, or move to their current location.
Place a bomb symbol on a blank space, and turn it into a Return to the Beginning.
All players except you move back one space, or choose one player to move back the number rolled.
Discard a card, or ALL cards from a player's hand.
Look at a player's hand, steal a card without, or by looking.
Choose a card from the deck, or use the Token Card, which transforms into ANY OTHER CARD.
Send yourself to Jail and be closer to the Finish Line (you have to wait three turns before playing again). Send someone close to the Finish Line to Jail, having them move backwards and lose advantage. Or use it to someone who's close to the Jail but has not passed it, and have them WAIT THREE TURNS, just because!
Roll again, roll two dice or choose a player to loose their next turn.
Defend yourself annulling effects, or REBOUND them to your enemies.
Turn a space into a Combat Zone. And then there are blank cards...
Cards can only be played before rolling, and only one is allowed per turn. No cards can be played on the first turn, and you must roll the exact number of spaces before the Finish Line to Win!
Who is Rapidum for?
Rapidum was made to be easy to learn, quick to understand, and fun for almost everyone.
Want to play with your family? Grab the game and challenge your kids, siblings, or parents.
Having friends over? Rapidum gives everyone something to do without needing to spend an hour learning complicated rules.
Having a party, sleepover, family gathering, or game night? Bring Rapidum to the table.
Even if you're not a big board game player, the simple rules and cartoonish style make it easy to jump in and start playing.
You don't need to be a board game expert. You just need to roll the dice, play your cards, and be ready for anything.
Why Support the campaign?
Rapidum started with a simple idea: what if you were about to win, and someone sent you to the beginning?
I wanted to create a game that was easy enough for anyone to pick up and play, but unpredictable enough that every game could turn into a completely different experience.
But Rapidum is more than just a game idea. It's a game that I’m building from the ground up. From designing the board and cards to creating the artwork, testing the rules, and making the physical prototype, this campaign is a chance to help turn Rapidum from an idea into a real game that can make it onto people's tables.
By supporting the campaign, you're not just getting a board game. You're helping an independent creator bring their idea to life and succeed on his first project. Your support will help make it possible to produce the game, improve the components, and get Rapidum into the hands of people who can actually play, enjoy, and share it.
So if you enjoy board games, love a little friendly competition, or just want to discover something new, consider supporting Rapidum.
