Look at up to 3 goods tiles from the pile, place them face-down in your tray, then move the tray to the center of the table. When all players' trays are in the center, reveal the tiles, take the tray that works best for you from the center OR from another player. Optionally add your florins to discourage others from taking it.
Once everyone has a tray, players add the goods to their ship for the current day.
At the end of each day, players score. First, players score based on who has the highest points of goods on the current day's level of their ship. Then, players score for each type of good anywhere on their ship. Players with the most of each type of good score the most points for that good. Rats are tiebreakers. (Having fewer rats on your ship is better!) At the end of three days, the player with the most florins wins.

What's the next stretch goal? Achievement tiles and rules for Traders. Be the first to gain the achievement for extra points!

Dani Standring at Shut Up and Sit Down had this quick take.
The team at Heavy Cardboard streamed a five-player game on Tuesday evening. If you want to learn how to play the game, this is a great way to do it.
Steph, Michael, and Amy of All the Games with Steph show you a 3-player game of Medici Traders.

When Medici first released in 1995, it was nominated for the Spiel des Jahres - the most prestigious award in tabletop gaming. Another game, Settlers of Catan won that award that year, but Medici has collected several other accolades, including the Meeples Choice Award.

Production Improvements
We scoured 30 years of Medici forums on BoardGameGeek to hear what people thought could be improved with the components from previous generations of the game.
- increased scoring/florin track contrast to improve readability
- good cards more closely match those goods on the main board
- commodity wheel hub on game board includes marker indicating token start position

Medici The Card Game received the Dice Tower Seal of Approval.

Like the board game above, we looked through the Medici card game forums for potential component improvements. To that end, we'll be making the following production changes:
- '5' denomination coins will be larger
- coin art to match metal coin art, resembling florins of that era
- enlarged cards (standard Euro->poker)
- larger box (to accommodate the larger coins and cards)

Finally, we're making improvements to the dice game components, including:
- larger dice (15->19mm). This is a dice game, after all!
- art will be heat transferred into dice and not easily scratched
- player sheets will not be saturated, as some forum posts have observed
- better-distinguishable goods symbols on dice
- upgrade punchboard first-player token to wood

The same set of coins can be used for both the Medici Card Game and Medici Traders. Or get one set for each game! We researched coinage from 1400's Italy when creating this set. Each set contains 55 heavyweight coins.

Whale Riders is a design with a classic feel from famed game designer Reiner Knizia. In 45 minutes of play, 2-6 players will race to the end of the Ice Coast and back, buying and selling as many resources as possible, to make the money needed to acquire the richest prizes. Will you skip opportunities to gain the greatest treasures, or will you make your money slowly along the way?
Each player has just two actions per turn, but a lot more they will want to accomplish. Sail? Buy? Sell? Draw more order cards? All the while, your opponents might be sailing past and beating you to what's on offer down the coast! Once all the precious pearls have been purchased, the game will end and the player with the most pearls will win!

Whale Riders sold out within just a few months of release last year. Don't let this print run get past you. Add Whale Riders to your pledge!

In Whale Riders: The Card Game, 2-4 players will sail alongside each other to buy goods along the Ice Coast. What is on offer at the ports will vary in quantity. Sometimes you will be working together with others only to become competitors again when a better proposition comes along. This is a re-implementation of Reiner Knizia's card game, Trendy.

Like the Whale Riders board game, the card game is illustrated by Vincent Dutrait, but it is a much smaller game that plays very differently from the board game.

We have add-ons for each of the sleeve sizes, but to make things easy, we have add-on sleeve bundles for each of the games with cards, and the two game bundles (Medici All-In, Medici All-In + Whale Riders).

APE Games has licensed these games for the US, Canada and UK markets only.

Shipping and taxes will be charged during the pledge manager.
As of the campaign start, there is a 12.5% tariff on goods from China into the US. The prices in this campaign encompass that tariff, but if that tariff cost rises unexpectedly again, we may need to address this during the pledge manager.
Note that games may ship to Canada from either the US or from a fulfillment center in Canada, depending which is cheaper. We consider tariff costs, separate shipments from China, and customs taxes from the US into Canada to get the best pricing. Games to UK backers will ship from the UK.
Tax will be collected in the pledge manager for CA and UK.

The products are available in English only.

The Artist

I have been creating artwork in the “traditional” way for more than 25 years. Hand-drawn and painted using pencils, brushes and paint on paper. Proudly upholding the history and heritage of documented, lifelike conventional art. While at the same time developing modern sensitivities and approaches to pictorial storytelling.
I have illustrated children’s books and role-playing games, and my focus these days is on boardgames. I work with numerous game designers and publishers around the world, across multiple genres, including science fiction, adventure, mystery and supernatural, noir fiction and heroic fantasy. Over the years, I’ve added some new strings to my bow, allowing me to create the digital graphic design for many projects on which I have worked.
My knowledge of the publishing world and related technical and functional skills helped me to manage and master each step in the graphic chain. Also, I have discussed and contributed to many projects from an early stage, offering artistic direction and advice, as well as helping to develop game worlds and themes.
Transmitting and sharing are my watchwords.
