Road Warriors: A Stand-Up Comedy Odyssey is a Forged in the Dark ttrpg where you take on the role of touring stand-up comics trying to make it big in the worst venues in America. Play as wacky, irresponsible dreamers who’ve bet everything on making it big. The mission: put on a minimally okay stand-up comedy show. The stakes: it’ll hurt your feelings if nobody laughs.
Be funny without writing jokes. You didn’t have to learn magic to play your wizard, and you won’t have to tell jokes to play Road Warriors. Your character handles the comedic heavy lifting with our joke skill system. Just put points into different styles of jokes and roll the dice to see whether they’re funny. Plus, each character has unique playbook abilities and specialized material they can use to wring laughs out of the most hostile audience.
Easy-to-learn gameplay cycle lets you get through each gig in one session. Phase 1: Get to the gig, learn everything that’s wrong with it. Phase 2: Run around trying to solve the gig’s problems before the show. Phase 3: Get on stage and make ‘em laugh. Phase 4: Develop your relationships with the other comics and level up your comedy skills.
Gig books make running the game easy. Road Warriors will come with at least five pre-written gigs, a full tour for your comics to cut their teeth and become worthy of maybe getting on a late night talk show. Gig books contain all the problems you’ll have to solve, all the NPCs there to help or hinder you, and all the consequences your show will face if and when you mess it up. Your Master of Ceremonies will be able to run a new gig every session with minimal prep.
Face down the audience in a totally original performance game. Each audience will be unique and include the characters you met during the previous phase. Each audience table has their own likes and dislikes that you’ll have to figure out and play to in order to crush the gig. But beware, if you tell too many clunkers you might bomb, causing audiences to walk out and shows to get cancelled.

- A fully illustrated rulebook (both print and digital) with everything you need to create and advance a character as well as tools for running the game with pre-written or original adventures.
- At least five gigs traveling across America including settings, NPCs, problem clocks, and gig tables.

- A play mat to help easily keep track of problems and performances for the whole table to see.
- Expanded playbooks to play as even weirder and funnier characters.
- Even more gigs to keep your tour going as long as you want to.
