How To Play
The objective of Roller Disco is to empty your hand of cards first and prove yourself to be the Roller Disco Champion! The core mechanics combine ladder-climbing and shedding, but with a unique twist where you are playing your cards in sequences while rotating around a mirrorball. Choosing when to play, when to pass and what cards to keep in your hand is essential to find the right strategy to win the game.
How to Skate
On your turn choose if you will Skate or Pass. When you Skate, this is your chance to show off your skills and play cards around the mirrorbill in sequence. The first card space you can play whatever card you choose, then after that you must match the colour of the card you play onto in sequence. But will you be “Movin’ on up” or “Gettin’ on down”?!
When you declare you are “Movin’ on up”, all cards you play around the mirrorball must be higher than the card played onto. When you declare you are “Gettin’ on down”, all cards you play around the mirrorball must be lower than the card played onto.
When you finish your sequence, take the top card of the next card space in sequence and your turn ends.
Let’s look at how that works:
Movin' on up
- insert movin' on up gif
Gettin' on down
- insert gettin' on down gif
Let's Jam!
Want to make the Skate move even gnarlier? Choose the best time to use a wild Jam card to make the sequence keep on going. A Jam card can be played on any card regardless of its suit or number and allows you to move onto the next card in the sequence or perform a 180 degree turn and keep your sequence going in the opposite direction. But make sure you play that Jam card at the right time as you can only use one per sequence!
Jam Card to continue sequence
- insert jam card gif
Jam Card to hit a 180 degree turn
- insert jam card 180 gif
Make sure you hit those jam moves at the right time as once they are in play they become a wild card for your opponents to play on too!
Hit the winning moves
The first player to empty their hands of cards wins the game and is crowned the Roller Disco Champion!
- insert gif of someone winning

Artwork
The artwork has been meticulously researched by Joss to bring a style and feeling to match the fun and playfulness of the mechanics. We want to capture the style of the Roller Disco heyday in the late 70s and early 80s and bring that through in design. This has been achieved with a combination of hand-drawn roller boots from around this era and digital graphic design to bring to life the retro-future look.

How To Play
The objective of Tricky Landing is to win the most clown cards each round in a series of mini-games called tricks. Unlike other trick-taking games, Tricky Landing is a dexterity trick-taking game, meaning you must throw your card into the trick towards a target! Hitting the target is just as important as choosing the right card to play and with a s good throw yo can connect cards together to win more points. Miss the target and you can set the trump suit for future tricks, but be warned - if more than one player misses you’ll take penalty points!
Choose your clown and throw!
Tricky Landing is a may-follow trick-taking game, so you may choose a clown card of any suit or number from your hand to play on your turn. Hold it with the face of the card towards you and throw it from no closer than 30cm away from the target card. Once each player has thrown one card, the trick will be resolved.
Setting the lead suit
An on-target clown is a card which is touching or overlapping the target card. This card will set the lead suit for the trick. Any connected cards would create a troupe and the highest card of the lead suit in the troupe will win the trick. The winner takes the cards they win face down.

Splitting the trick
Do not have a high card to win a troupe? Why not start your own! Use your clown throwing skills to land on a separate part of the target card to start a new troupe with a new lead suit, meaning there can be more than one trick in play. Each trick winner takes the cards they win face down.
- Show a split trick gif
But what if you miss the target?
If you are the only player to miss landing your card amongst a troupe fear not, your card will be set aside face up and set the trump suit for all future tricks. The trump suit is stronger than all other suits and the highest card in the trump suit will win the trick, regardless of what the on-target card is. After each trick winner has taken their cards, move the missed card to the side of play so everyone can see the trump suit.
- insert gif one player missing
But if more than on players misses then each player that missed will take their card and keep face up in front of them. These cards equal penalty points at the end, so if you miss the target try and make sure you are the only play to miss the target!
- insert gif of more than one player missing
Clown throwing shenanigans
There are many highs and lows with your clown throws. You can land the perfect connecting card to bridge a trick, or attempt a sneaky slide under an on-target card to change the lead suit and miss wildly! Tricky Landing will create those find laugh out loud moments at the table. Let Mike show you how it's done!

No Stretch Goals
At this point in a campaign page you are probably expecting to be reading about stretch goals. We have made the decision to not go with any! We could have reduced the components and cost by just using cards, but we wanted to bring our vision of Roller Disco to life in the way we wanted to. So we have gone for a full mirrorball component, wooden roller boot and holo laminations on the box and jam cards. We have also kept the production simple for Tricky Landing, but with good card stock to help them fly through the air!. We’ve had so much fun making these games and we want you to have so much fun playing, so getting the components and table presence how we wanted was an important part of the project. This also means we can achieve our plan of fulfilling to backers as quickly as possible.
Estimated shipping
The above table is based on the estimated shipping costs and the time we launch our Kickstarter campaign. These may be subject to change once we are nearer to shipping the games out to backers. Additional taxes for EU backers will be applied in the pledge manager. ROW backers may be subject to local customs taxes on receipt.
We are unfortunately unable to ship to the following countries: Russia, Pakistan, Iraq, Israel, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Haiti, Iran, Iraq, Kazakhstan, North Korea, Syria, Ukraine, Yemen
Additional tariffs for US backers will be applied in the pledge manager. It is important to note that due to the uncertainty and potential changes with short notice to tariffs for goods shipped to the US, the tariff applied will be whichever tariff is applicable at the time of shipping. Our games are made in China so as the country of origin the current tariff will be an additional 30% of the cost of the game(s) you pledge for at the time of Kickstarter launch.

Special Thanks
There are so many people we would like to give special thanks to for supporting us in the design and creation of Roller Disco. The first public playtests were at Paradice 2025 then closely followed at Handycon and those early games really set us on our journey to develop the game. The South London Playtest UK group have been instrumental as always with their patient playtesting and supportive feedback to help improve the game.. The UK Indie Publishers & Designers group has shared so much knowledge with us and the #BoardGameProtoHype community on Instagram continues to be such a fantastic group of supportive publishers and designers.
And of course a very special thanks to everyone that has playtested Roller Disco and followed our journey from idea to creation. We’ve had so much fun designing and bringing Roller Disco to life with you!
