RONIN SAGA SHADOWDARK EDITION

RONIN SAGA is a fantasy setting inspired by Japanese History, myths and media. 

The empire was shattered, turned into a thousand islands archipelago by a dragon. Families were broken, friends disappeared, demons now prey upon the innocent, monsters stalk the lands... You play as heroes trying to free these islands from the yoke of their demonic oppressors and reunite the empire!

Its first edition as a standalone game is an Electrum best-seller on Drivethrurpg with a 5 star rating across all reviews:

THE SHADOWDARK EDITION

As many other Referees and players, Shadowdark has become my go-to game when I want to run fantasy campaigns or one-shots for my group. Later on I got that itch to run a new RONIN SAGA campaign and, of course, making it compatible with Shadowdark was a no-brainer. 

THE BOOK

This is going to be an A5-sized, fully illustrated, full color 84 pages book. The illustrations are done by MYLYDY who's a story artist at PIXAR. You'll also find traditional Japanese art throughout the book. This time around I got to do the layout.

Three new ancestries: Half-Oni, Kitsune and Monkey.

Four new classes: Elementalist, Ninja, Ronin and Sohei

20 new monsters: from kappa to oni!

Tools and tables to create islands to be freed from the demons! 1 island = 1 adventure

Solo mode: advice for the Lone ronin and an Oracle to help you out.

WHEN DO WE GET THE GAME?

The game is already written and laid out.

All backers get the PDF of the game two days after the campaign ends.

Backers who want to get physical will also get a code to order the A5, 84 pages, standard color book at-cost through DriveThruRPG: you 'll still have to pay printing costs and shipping on top of your pledge. Print cost at the time of writing is 5,42$/3,83£.

Codes for this will be sent one month after the campaign ends so we can get community feedback on the PDF, squashing as much typos as we can.
