— description fournie par le concepteur

Présentation de la campagne

PLAY IT RIGHT NOW — FREE. The full game is playable in your browser, no signup needed: https://muse.ai/s/run-the-table-playable-demo-qxs6zxoxdxdxxxtxug — try it, then come back and back the prototype. FIRST 30 BACKERS GET FEATURED IN THE GAME — the first 30 backers at ANY reward tier get their name in the rulebook credits of every copy. Back now to lock your spot.

Run the Table is a finished game design — the rules are done, and you can play the digital demo right now (link at the bottom of this page). What's not finished is the physical game, and that's what this campaign funds.

Your backing goes directly into developing the game: the printed  run, blind playtesting with real groups, and the art and graphic design the manufactured game will need. Backers get the actual prototype in their hands — hand-assembled, real cards and components as they exist today — plus a direct line to the workshop while we iterate on your feedback.

This is not a pre-order for a finished product. It's a chance to help build the game and hold the game before anyone else.

Pool night, no pool table required

Every pool player has lived it: the rack is open, the run is on, and one bad leave — one shot where the cue ball drifts six inches too far — ends everything. Pool isn't a game about making shots. It's a game about where the cue ball stops.

Run the Table is that game, in a box.

It's a card-driven pool strategy game for 2–4 players. You'll run racks on an illustrated 9-ft table board: call your shot and your pocket, play the Shot card that sets your position — Stop, Follow, Draw, Bank, Kick, Combo — roll to sink it, and keep shooting while you keep making them. Leave yourself thin cuts and long-table misery and your run dies. Play position like a pro and you'll hear the two sweetest words in pool: run out.

Why it works

  • It plays like pool actually feels. Pocketing is the easy part. Position, safeties, and run-building decide the game — the same skills, the same mind games, the same groans when the cue ball scratches.
  • Five minutes to learn. Call it, card it, roll it. If you can explain pool, you can teach Run the Table.
  • No table, no problem. Kitchen table, pub table, campsite picnic bench. The whole pool hall fits in a box the size of a shoebox.
  • Real depth for real players. Called banks and kicks, safety battles, chalk management, and Pro-rules variants — plus Rack cards graded from Rookie to Hustler and a solo mode with par scores to chase.

A note on how this campaign was made

The concept art and videos for this campaign were designed with AI — every image and video says so right on it, and always will. The game itself is human-designed: real rules, real dice, real arguments about whether that bank was really called. When the campaign funds, we build the printed prototype run — the actual prototype you'll hold in your hands.

What we're Building

The Build run will include:

  • Illustrated 9-ft Table board with positional zone grid and rail score track
  • 15 numbered ball tokens + cue ball token
  • 84 Shot cards (Stop, Follow, Draw, Bank, Kick, Combo, Safety)
  • 20 Rack cards — Rookie / Pro / Hustler layouts
  • 2 custom dice · 12 Chalk tokens · 4 score markers · Prototype rulebook

Game components are hand-assembled and may differ from the final manufactured game — that's the point. You'll play the real thing while it's still being shaped.

Where the money goes

  • Game print run — cards, board, tokens, and rulebooks, assembled by hand
  • Blind playtesting — prototype copies in the hands of real groups, structured feedback rounds
  • Art & graphic design — the visual development the manufactured game will need
  • Backer shipping — getting prototypes to backers in Canada, the US, UK, EU, Australia and New Zealand
  • Kickstarter fees

Game timeline (planned)

  • Campaign close + 1 month — Prototype print run; components assembled by hand
  • Months 2–4 — Blind playtesting rounds with backer feedback; feedback incorporated into the revised prototype spec
  • May 2027 — Prototype copies ship to backers

(The manufactured edition comes after — this campaign is about getting the game right.)

Stretch goals

  • CA$100,000 — Prototype upgrade: linen-finish cards + thicker board stock across the entire prototype run.
  • CA$150,000 — 10 extra prototype Rack cards (Hustler pack) in every prototype copy.
  • CA$220,000 — Deluxe prototype components: weighted, gloss-finished ball tokens for all prototype backers.
  • CA$300,000 — Expansion prototype: the One Pocket variant expansion prototyped and added to Workshop tiers.

Play it right now — free

The digital demo is live and free — this is the actual game design, playable in your browser right now:
