—description du concepteur
Présentation de la campagne
RUNECALL: BATTLE FOR RUNES
Power shapes the board.
The board shapes the battle.
Runecall: Battle for Runes is a highly interactive strategy board game for 2 or 4 players, where victory is earned through positioning, timing, and control of space — not combat, not luck, not hidden information.
Every decision leaves a mark.
And every advantage comes with a cost.
What Is Runecall?
You play as an Invoker, competing to harness unstable elemental runes scattered across a living battlefield.
There are no safe turns.
There are no passive strategies.
The battlefield constantly shifts — by your choices and by your opponents’.
Runecall rewards players who can anticipate consequences, predict reactions, and turn pressure into opportunity.
Why You’ll Love It
🧠 Strategic Depth Without Random Chaos
Runecall minimizes luck and emphasizes player decisions. Success comes from planning, adaptation, and knowing when not to act.
🧭 A Board That Never Stays the Same
Players don’t just move across the battlefield — every action reshapes it. Runes appear, interact, and shift the balance, creating constant tension and unpredictable challenges. Each decision reverberates across the game, turning every match into a delicate dance of power, risk, and chaos.
🔮 Open Information, Real Mind Games
All actions are visible. Everyone knows what’s possible.
This creates a unique kind of interaction where:
Bluffing is about timing, not secrecy
Every move invites responses
Reading your opponents is as important as reading the battlefield
🌑 Chaos at the Edge
When control reaches its limit, instability emerges. It slows leaders, challenges desperate players, and reshapes the flow of power. This chaotic force reflects the consequences of pushing too far.
⚖️ Tight Balance From Start to Finish
Runecall avoids runaway leaders and excessive catch-up.
Pressure is redistributed through the battlefield itself, forcing strong players to defend their position while giving others space to re-enter the fight.
Winning requires restraint as much as ambition.

Designer’s Note
I wanted a game where players couldn’t rely on fixed plans or private engines — where every action created consequences that others had to react to.
There is no combat in Runecall.
Conflict comes from space, pressure, and timing.
If you enjoy games that reward thinking ahead, reading opponents, and embracing tension, this game was designed for you.
