Sake Neko Playing Cards

Howdy fams! Miss me? 🥰 It's been over a year since Konbine Playing Cards!! I hope everyone had an amazing full belly journey through Japanese snacks! But what's a great snack without the perfect drink to match? Oh yeah, here we go! Let’s begin our new journey - SAKE NEKO PLAYING CARDS are finally here! 😸🍶🍶🇯🇵

Our journey began last spring, when a stray calico cat stepped in and checked on us while we were sipping Umeshu under a sakura tree. 🌸 That magical, peaceful moment sparked a vision: to create a deck that captures the soul of Japanese beauty - adorable cats, serene moments, and of course, SAKE! 🍶🥳

"SAKE IS PROOF THAT GOD LOVES US AND WANTS US TO BE HAPPY" lol

PROJECT OVERVIEW / カードの概要

In a world where gifts tell a story, Sake Neko deck is a celebration of craft, classic, and pure fun. Alongside a gorgeous Classic paper deck, we have designed a unique circle-coaster deck too! And the coolest part? THIS CIRCULAR CARDS ARE WATERPROOF! 🤩 💦Whether you're a card collector, a sake lover, or both, you'll love these adorable Sake Neko Playing Cards! So pour a drink, and welcome to a small universe where elegance, playfulness, and culture meet at our table.

SAKE NEKO - CLASSIC VERSION / 酒猫クラシックデッキ

PACKAGING DESIGN / パッケージデザイン

Have you ever shuffled a deck of cards and felt like you were holding a piece of art? What if that art was inspired by the quiet elegance of Japan Sake and the mischievous charm of drinking cats? This is Sake Neko Classic deck! ⭐️

Unbox this classic deck like you’re opening a bottle of gold-label sake, with the full excitement and nobility! 🥰😎 The entire tuck box is fully engraved with golden foil, designed in the style of a premium Japanese sake "Gold Label Bottle", complete with drinking Maneki-neko, beautiful Japanese calligraphy and sake arts! 🍶🇯🇵

In the middle of tuck, another highlight is revealed - a 3D Sake-neko Iconic Badge! The cutest design you have ever seen! 🔥

CARD DESIGN / カードデザイン

Every card of the classic version is printed on premium 330gsm paper with a fun festive-orange foil on both sides that really pops. But we didn’t stop at beauty - we made it super helpful too! ⭐️🤩Think of each card as your friendly "SAKE 101 GUIDE", packed with tips and know-how to help you dive into Japan Sake like a pro! 🤓🍶

Every number card shares cool tip and advice: some spotlight sake ingredients, best serving temperatures, others cover drinking etiquette, or the origin of sake rice; and a few explore those amazing tastes and aromas. Plus, the illustrations? They're super adorable, blending playful cat vibes with the timeless charm of sake tradition. Can't wait for you to check it out! 🐱🍶

The card back is another gem of Japanese artistry! 🇯🇵It beautifully combined traditional Japanese Hanafuda design with playful Sake Neko engraves. Every little detail - from the radiant Sun-like Orange Foil to the subtle washi-paper-texture design, is a heartfelt nod to masterful craftsmanship.  🎴🍶

Speaking of the court cards, each suit represents a season 🌸🌿 - reimagined with feline deities in kimonos, napping on Fusuma screens, or playing kemari under autumn maples. These court cards feature Bakeneko (spiritual cats in Japan myths) embodying the grace of geisha, the wisdom of monks, and the boldness of samurai. All cards are cold-foiled in festive shiny and colourful. So much fun, beauty and folklore packed in! 🐱🥰

This unique sparkling gliding adds that extra touch of magic on this classic deck! 🤩Each one is gilding-edged in traditional Japanese festive gold with subtle sparkles in between. Crack open the deck and let's toast to a fun sake night together! ✨🍶
