Our Story
It started the way most game nights do. Friends around the table, snacks within reach, and a box holding a game we all loved.
Then we lifted the lid.
Cards had slid out of their piles. Tiles had shifted into a jumbled stack. Player pieces in four different colours had migrated into the same corner, and a few were hiding under the insert. Before anyone had placed a single piece, we’d spent twenty minutes sorting, counting and searching.
We looked at the mess and thought "there must be a better way"
And because we’re makers, our very next thought was "we can fix that!"
From frustration to first prototype
We’re Geek Craft, a small team of makers based in Melbourne. We design and build props, costume pieces and tabletop accessories for people who love their hobbies as much as we do. When something about a game bugs us, our instinct isn’t to put up with it - it’s to fire up the forge (well... 3D printer).
So, we started sketching. Then measuring. Then printing, testing, reprinting and testing again. Every prototype went to a real game night, and every game night taught us something about how players actually reach for their pieces, share cards and pack up at the end of the evening.
We didn’t just want to organise the game. We wanted to enhance it.
Somewhere along the way, we realised tidy storage was only half the answer. A good organiser keeps the box neat. A great one makes the game better to play. So we designed our Settle, Sort & Conquer: Game-changing Organisers around the table, not just the box:
- Faster setup. Trays lift straight out and onto the table, so you’re playing in minutes instead of sorting.
- A player kit for everyone. Each player gets their own tray with their pieces ready to go, which doubles as a tidy station in front of them during play.
- Cards that stay put. Purpose built holders keep every deck upright and easy to draw from, so nothing slides across the table mid trade.
- A place for every tile. Tiles store flat and protected, ready to lay out the moment you open the box.
- Everything back in the box. The whole system fits inside the original box with the lid sitting flat for every game and expansion.
Made with care, made to last
Every piece is designed and printed in our Melbourne workshop using premium PLA. We test every design for fit, heat, durability and finish, because an organiser that rattles, cracks or jams isn’t an upgrade.
After printing, we craft each piece to ensure everything locks, moves, and magnetises as it should. So it isn't just a 3D print - it's Geek Craft!
