Step into a postapocalyptic - fantasy world where the last survivors of humanity cling to broken horizons under the gaze of their new infernal masters. This setting uses a D20 system, if you are familiar with 5e D&D (5th edition Dungeons and dragons), you can drop straight into desperate exploration, hard choices, and brutal survival without learning a whole new system. if you aren't , you can learn it in a few minutes. 

Now as for the setting , Earth is dead. The demons that broke it now rule what’s left. the world has been twisted to reflect the realms the five arch-demons hail from. It is a desolate wasteland where humans are beholden to their oppressors in various ways. These regions form a scarred sandbox where every journey means choosing which nightmare you can afford to face next. you play the role of a survivor 200 years after the inciting incident. 

The five regions are as follows. Withered Plains: Formerly Sun-blasted husks of old cities, haunted by scavenger warbands and demon-twisted relic hunters. Ruled over by the harvester, the withering plains wears down even the strongest , from its flensing sand storms, to zombies , it embodies entropy. the harvester finds life to be a state of transition, much like childhood , and that ultimately, the real measure of life is its value as fuel for the Demons.  survivor quote-“Like vultures to carrion, we pick at the carcass of the old world. Clean water is worth more than gold. This land has no use for us, the infirm are swallowed just as surely as the unlucky. Sand erodes the stone just as the land withers us. I did not understand death as a youth. I thought it was an absence of life. This is not death, its entropy personified.-Journal entry, unknown, found dropped by a withered on a scavenging run 

next is the Rot Wilds: Overgrown ruins where corrupted forests, fungal growths, and hungry monstrosities swallow anything that lingers. Ruled over by the crimson mother, a demoness known for the horrors she birthed. But since having lost her ability to breed horrors, she instead seeks connection, by "completing" life,  thru infecting and molding it. Because one way or another, she will have her children. It is rumored she has swallowed some of the last horrors she birthed, waiting for the right time to unleash them. Survivor quote-“We burn and salt the roads to keep them. And still they keep creeping forward. The plants creep forward, with a single minded determination. Even the air is poisoned, an invisible invader waiting for a host. It seeks to reclaim what was its, even our flesh.”- Journal entry, Larry Halvard, Burner squad, 33rd division

to the south lies the Shattered Coast: a region of drowned skylines and broken ports where survivors barter, steal, and travel through demon-patrolled waters. Thalor rules here, a prince betrayed and banished to rule only over the depths and the storms. He seeks to have the kingdom he was denied, making survivors search for bobbles and betray their kind for his favor. Or be washed away by crashing waves, disease, and relentless tempest.  Survivor Quote-“The water is an ever present concern, from how we get around to shoring up our settlements against it. Storms are living things here. Demons that rule by edicts of thunder and gale force winds. They must be parlayed with for favor, or to hamper our neighbors so we can just survive. This world is drowning. Is it better to surrender to the depths to know peace or to rage against it ?” -Written on a scrap of paper, part of a sale of dry dirt, and a working battery

on a near-by island lies the Frozen Expanse: A white graveyard of cracked ice, buried cities, and frostbound horrors stalking the endless dusk. it is a wasteland where the very metal you walk upon can turn against you.. A former metropolis and industrial center, it is ruled over by a slayer of both tribes and gods. The first thing he did on being returned to the mortal plane was to instill his fury into the machines of this region, so the weak, scurrying creatures would learn to survive or be culled. For the scars he bears from bondage, still pain him. Frozen expanse survivor Quote “ The choir sings to our machines. Every girder, every BTU of warmth, even crumbs of food , are the result of our efforts to appease and placate the very machines and structures that we need, so that they do not rise to sentience and kill us” -liana as she warms herself by a power core, a silent scream plastered on its face. 

 finally is the Ashen Reach: Coastal wastelands of black sand, slagged stone, and instability,  it is a wound in reality. The result of aether having ignited the very substance of the cosmos. Its ruler, the messenger of the onyx court, now seeks to escape the chains of fate that bind her. The very smoke of this place now carries her whispers, profane knowledge and madness. Creatures stalk thru the streets , looking to consume, not mere flesh, but for knowledge, and the very minds of humanity. Survivor quote-Fire is often seen as a cleansing force. This is not that. Space-time is fractured, gravity is just a suggestion. Psionic creatures harvest our memories, courage, and sanity. Dopplegangers replace our friends and family. Nobody trusts anybody. Nyxara whispers and the world warps. But even time is mutable here, reversing entropy, or allowing us to escape the horrors of this forsaken land. Sometimes...-A discussion between a father and his daughter, who returned alone.

Because this is earth, origins have replaced races. What are the origins? it is a tragedy you have endured and overcome, if only partially. These include being formerly possessed , Human survivors in arks, or having been thrown forward in time(like a certain hero with a famous chin), a sole survivor, a betrayer, etc.  Yes races ( and the stat modifiers/resistances) from 5 e(5th edition Dungeons and dragons) are here, but narrative changes have been made for the setting. As well as, playing a non-human is now a bigger deal, as mutants and Hell spawn (think tieflings) are now its own challenge as cities are less willing to trade with you ,it cost more and some traders won't. Also monsters may target your character more during combat. Forcing you to build a party that has to deal with having limited access to basic goods.

Budget:The money will be used to Pay for publishing- APPROX. 2500 for 100 books(Hardcover), Approx.40% for publishing- Printers/Paper , backing, ink, etc.)  30% of the money for shipping, and the rest (30%) will be used to pay for writing and editing, layout, NOTE this is a limited run, and after this is done, only the digital versions will be available.

At this time, the books are finished and merely need to be reviewed.

Est. Production Timeline- assuming it launches on time-pledge ends-September 15th  September 15th 2026-Goes to publisher. Next Ideally you will receive the digital version for download that day. Estimates for publishing -depending on amount ordered are around 9 months to a year. and that is before shipping. I am debating on self publishing to advance this. (as the 9 months is actually the fastest, normally its 18 months)- IT Is est. publishing will be finished by Dec. 2027.  Shipping will begin janurary (as to avoid the christmas rush) 

Very low Risk,  Digital copies will be given to any backers whose payment is accepted( assuming funds raised successfully/and they pledged for any books), I am probably going to publish this myself to advance it. Now if there are too many hardcover books sold(2500/+) i will get a publisher(which changes to est. delivery to july/2029) , If there are minor delays in shipping i will refund everyone 10%,  or there are significant problems(transportation breakdown , etc.)  i will give everyone digital copies only and refund the difference. (The books are finished so, the only concerns are printing and shipping)

About me: Im a 40 Y/O nerd. Formerly certified X-ray tech. left the field after numerous problems.

MY Nerd credentials: Played B.G.3 in the last 4months-Ranger( I like to shoot from a distance, and send in things to fight/protect me in melee) it was so nice seeing all the references to "Shadow so amn" .  I also paint minis and plan to make multiple dioramas, including one for my Keeper of secrets.
