Hi guys, for the last 10 years I have been living of seasonal jobs such as fruit picking, vineyard work and treeplanting, spending most my life living in the bush without the commodities of the city. It made me realise the importance of playing games that don’t need electricity with friends on camp. I then got the idea of creating that game inspiring myself from real life stories that I cumulated thru these years. Creating the game helped me laugh at some horrible stories as well as remembering the good times i’ve had doing it. Tree planting is a whole different world that i would like to make you discover or remember as you play the game. I hope this game will help people understand my world as they are having fun challenging their friends at home and also help the planters spend their free time after work getting together as they usually do with other games.
Game rules
Goal:
Plant the trees and make more cash then everybody else at the table.
How to play:

There is gonna be two piles of card, one are the regular cards and one is the « piece » card. The regular card are the ones you play with and the « piece » card are gonna determine how much you get paid per tree. The game can be played alone or in team of two, if you play in team, both planters will plant in the same piece.
At the start of the game everybody start with 10 cards in hands and 1 « piece » card in front of them (1 per team if playing in team) and Every time you reach 10 000 trees you have to draw a new « piece » card, the price on it is the price per tree you are gonna get for the next 10 000 trees unless you have the card “ complain about your piece” wich is available with expansion and will allow you to throw the dice, if you get a 1 or a 2 you will draw another piece card until you get a lower price, if you get a 3 or a 4 your crew boss will just ignore you and you will keep your piece, if you get a 5 or a 6 you will draw another piece card until you get a better price.
Rules of opening:
You can only bag up if you have eaten.
Each food card as a number of tree value for your bag ups, to use the food you first put it in front of you, you can only use one food card per turn and food is discarded once you have used it to bag up the trees.
You need a full breakfast before you can do your first bag up, a Full breakfast is anything that gives you enough energy for 250 trees. After opening(doing your first bag up) you can bag up any food value. To bag up you put the trees in front of you and discard the food value you used to do so, you will be allowed to plant the trees on your next turn. Planting the trees end your turn and once the trees are planted you can discard them.
If you cant play you have to discard a card and draw a new one, if you forget to draw you need to wait the end of your next turn.
All food will also have a water value that could be negative if what you are eating makes you thirsty in the real life.
You cant plant if you have 0 water value, you can go in the minus on water but if you get a -50 water value you cant plant until you find a water bottle, all other water value dont apply to this point except for actual water.
Special cards:
The « need to shit » card act like a skip your turn card unless you have the « toilet paper » card
Same goes for the card « dart brake » unless you have the card « fire flicker »
The card « stash trees » allow you to stash whatever you have left in your bag up (up to 500 trees) but if the person playing next have a « cheker » card he can play it and you loose the ammount you were gonna stash instead.
The cards « you are now a vegetarian » and « you are now a vegan » makes you not be able to use some of the food cards they can be cancelled with the card « breaking the habits »
The card « you are now a stoner » makes you have to eat the double then you normally are to plant the trees and can ben cancelled by the « breaking the habits » card.
The card « rookie stare » can be used on anyone and give a -100 tree handicap on the next bag up of the person you use it on. That card cant be cancelled.
The card « bear hate your lunch » can be played on anybody, the person you use it on has to discard all the food he has in hand and cant replace those card until he is done playing the next turn.
The card « you broke your water bottle » can be used on anybody and make the person discard all his water bottle and cant replace those card until the end of his next turn.
The card “cache nap” available in expansion will make you roll the dice and the number you get is gonna be the length of the nap, which is the number of turn that you will skip.
The card « replant » can be played on anybody and make that person loose 2000 trees and pass a turn.
The card « lost a sticker » or « found a sticker » does -500 or +500 trees and can be used on anybody including yourself.
The card « crew bonus » available in the expansion give you an extra 2000 trees and let you play another card.
The card « got tendo » available in expansion makes you skip 3 turns unless you got the card « taping » wich will reduce it to one turn only.
The card « crusty vet » available in expansion act like a “joker” makes you invincible to the « replant » card or any of the “habits” cards (those who can be cancelled by the « breaking the habits » card).
How to win the game:
Game is over when someone hit 100 000 trees and the person who made the biggest amount of money win.
