Stowii - The Portable, Adaptable, Foldaway Gaming Table That's Game For Anything

 

Use Stowii with or without the slot in legs. This allows Stowii to be used as a full height table or a low level coffee table. Use Stowii without legs as low table in the lounge or as a table for picnics or at the beach.Reversible Side Extensions

The side extensions add table real estate, and can be flipped - one side featuring card slots and token holders, the other side a plain surface for writing or larger game components.Double Sided Light Bars

Stowii's LED light bars simply slot into place in the side extensions. They are fitted with a standard USB cable so they can be powered by a battery pack if you've taken your Stowii outside. Why have we come up with the world's first (we think) double sided light bars? Well, we see Stowii being used outside, on camping trips, on the deck or in the garden - our lights cast light both on the table playing surface and also on the side extensions, illuminating your tokens and what ever else you choose to put on them. They also look very cool in a dark environment even indoors.

You don't have to use all 4 light bars together, you can choose to leave one (or more) light bars off to make a larger area, maybe for your game instructions, or if your DM needs more room for a screen.

 

Stowii is crafted from the finest birch plywood for several compelling reasons. You might wonder why we didn't opt for hardwood, but the answer lies in Stowii's design philosophy – it's all about portability. Stowii is meant to be versatile, whether you're moving it around your home and garden or embarking on exciting adventures in the great outdoors. To achieve this, we've always prioritised keeping its weight manageable, which is why solid rosewood wasn't even considered.

Birch plywood offers exceptional material stability compared to solid wood, which is prone to warping, splitting, and shifting over time. This durability ensures that Stowii's components will fit together seamlessly.

Moreover, when it comes to cost-effectiveness, birch plywood is a practical choice. It comes in the right thicknesses, eliminating the need for additional machining, preparation, or wastage of unusable parts.

Just like other 'fancy' gaming tables, Stowii undergoes meticulous machining using cutting-edge technology. Each component receives careful hand finishing, followed by a high-quality, silky smooth, clear lacquered finish that meets bar-level standards.

We want Stowii to be as adaptable as possible, some people might want specific game token or card holders, others a dice tower - or maybe a phone holder. Our aim is that Stowii Print3D will become a library of 3D files that can be printed to add to Stowii. These files will be totally free to download and we will add to the library of files and hope that you will too.

Stowii, began life in a pub with a chat between a board game geek, and a furniture designer.

We saw the need for a fully featured gaming table that could be packed away, for those who haven't got the room for a full, static gaming table (or indeed an understanding partner who would allow such a thing!).

That simple chat has seen the development of Stowii over the last two and a half years.

Starting out as a larger, chest design, known as 'The Arq'. Stowii, as it would end up being called was born after yet another pub chat with the realisation that something smaller, more compact was needed - The Arc was shelved and work started on a more compact model. The concept of that new, smaller stool-to-table design came along the a few days later. The concept hasn't changed much, it's just been evolving and refined, with new features and add-ons thought up along the way. There have been many prototypes created, before getting to where we are now.

I'm sure there's potential for further evolution, perhaps more features to consider...maybe another visit to the pub is called for?!

Our packaging is also eco-conscious, as it won't be filled with harmful polystyrene. Instead, we've created packaging made from honeycomb cardboard. While this may slightly increase the cost of a Stowii, it's a small price to pay for a product that won't harm the planet!

We have teamed up with a well established manufacturer for Stowii who specialise in birch plywood furniture and fittings. While our initial prototypes will be made in-house, we recognise that we lack the infrastructure for mass production. Therefore, we've chosen to entrust this crucial stage to experts equipped with the necessary machinery and manpower

We have been working with our manufacturing partners we've outlined a timeline for the campaign. This roadmap encompasses everything from post-campaign re-prototyping to the development of eco-friendly packaging, all the way through to production and preparation for our global shipping partners, GamesQuest, to take over.

We've been blown away by the fantastic suggestions you've shared with us in the run-up to the Stowii campaign. Sometimes, in the excitement of it all, we can miss the simple gems, and you've really pointed out some brilliant ideas we hadn't even considered!

We've been working hard, and now, thanks to your input, we've introduced some awesome add-ons for Stowii. We've got a new 4'x4' Stowii option, plus we've included armrests with both the light and plain side fences. And that's not all – we've also thrown in a protective cover for those times when Stowii is on the move or safely tucked away at home.

We absolutely love making Stowii more versatile and adding features that will bring even more joy to your gaming and crafting. Thanks a bunch for being part of this exciting journey with us!

We're excited to tell you why we've decided to bring Stowii to crowdfunding. In a nutshell, we're bringing back the original concept of crowdfunding; to kickstart a business with an exciting new product. We believe that launching Stowii on Gamefound help us lay a strong foundation for our business. This is a crucial step that will secure our near future and allow us to expand on Stowii's launch. Our goal is to see Stowii tables in retail stores all around the world and create an awesome online Stowii store.
