“We survived. But not everyone can survive until the end.”
After the nuclear disaster, the world is no longer a place where humans can survive.
Ruined cities, desolate lands, untrustworthy allies.
A few precious cards — your food and water — are all that remain.
In this radioactive wasteland, only one survivor will make it to the end.
But there's a catch — you only have 30 minutes.
You have but one choice. Life or death.
Play it safe with your allies — or risk betrayal to gain the upper hand?
Your decision could save the day — or doom you all.
Only one can survive. Will it be you?

Development Story

Survive Nuclear Apocalypse! is a project born from my deep love for post-apocalyptic storytelling—particularly the Fallout series, which has captivated me more than any other game I’ve played. Inspired by its immersive nuclear wasteland setting, I wanted to bring that same atmosphere to the tabletop. The idea began with a simple question:
"What if we combined this powerful theme with the strategic tension of the board games I love playing with friends?"

From there, Survive Nuclear Apocalypse! took shape as a survival strategy board game grounded in tough decisions, alliances, betrayals—and the ever-present threat of radiation.
Although developing Survive Nuclear Apocalypse! began as a solo effort, it was never built alone. From the earliest concepts to balancing card effects, fine-tuning difficulty, and designing the custom dice system, I drew heavily on the insights and ideas of friends who are passionate board game enthusiasts, as well as members of my local board game community.

Throughout development, I actively sought feedback from both global board gaming communities—including on Reddit—and offline board gaming meetups. Engaging with players from diverse backgrounds and play styles allowed me to refine every aspect of the game: from the intuitiveness of the rules to the strategic depth and card balance.

This ongoing feedback loop was instrumental in shaping a tighter, more immersive experience. Thanks to this process, the game evolved into a competitive survival challenge that’s engaging for all types of players, whether casual or hardcore.

On the visual side, I used AI-generated illustrations to effectively capture the bleak, urgent atmosphere that defines the post-apocalyptic world. Every component—from the cards and box packaging to the dice, coin, and rulebook—underwent multiple design revisions to ensure a high level of polish and clarity.

Through close collaboration with the manufacturer and several rounds of sample production, I carefully reviewed the print specifications and material quality to make sure the final product looks and feels just right in physical form.

This isn’t just a game—it’s the result of countless ideas, passion, and play experiences shared by many people. Survive Nuclear Apocalypse! is a survival strategy board game shaped by collaboration and relentless refinement.

I hope the tension, excitement, and tough choices players face while fighting to survive in a desperate, post-nuclear world come through just as powerfully as they were intended.

Production

Board Collie is a one-man creative studio that handles the entire process of board game development—from concept planning and game design to production—with a focus on strategic tabletop games.

Founded by a passionate board game enthusiast, Board Collie was born from a desire to create a fresh take on the survival strategy genre—something that didn’t yet exist. Driven by that vision, the creator has led every step of development.

While operating as a small-scale development studio, Board Collie ensures high-quality production by working in long-term collaboration with experienced freelance designers. By combining AI-assisted illustrations with multiple rounds of prototyping and refinement, we've been able to significantly elevate the game's overall quality and visual impact.

Our first board game, Survive Nuclear Apocalypse!, was completed after approximately 9 months of development and dozens of playtests. By actively incorporating feedback from global online communities—including Reddit—and local board game groups, we continuously refined the game’s balance and fun factor.

Moving forward, Board Collie aims to grow into a genre-focused board game brand, delivering strategic and immersive games built around unique and compelling themes.
