Tag! You're Undead

In this deadly reimagining of gang up tag, humans must use their wit, planning, and ingenuity to evade the zombies and make it across the board to refuge. However, the game is flipped on it's head as day turns to night and the zombie horde grows.

Tag! You're Undead is a fast paced One vs. Many game where players program two movements from a limited hand. If you land on the same square as the zombie, you are bitten and must chase down the remaining survivors. However, zombies can ONLY communicate with moans, groans, and cries for BRAAIINS!.

The game develops quickly as players must rest before recovering and using crucial movement cards, giving the more agile zombies an opportune moment to strike and bite. But, a well timed barricade from another player can save the day, blocking the path between the charging zombie and their friend.

You will simply receive a copy of the the game itself, including:

Game box, rule sheet, player decks, map tiles, meeples

How to Play

Humans start at one end of the board behind a starting tile of their choice, whereas the zombie starting location will be randomised each game.

All players (humans and zombies) pick two of the movement cards from their hand and place them face-down in a left and right position in front of them. Once all players have chosen their movement cards, all humans reveal their first/left card and proceed to move their meeple in the indicated direction. Afterwards, the zombie, who has a different movement pool, reveals their first/left card and also moves their meeple. 

If a zombie ever lands on the same tile as a human (after all first/left or second/right movements have ended), that human turns into a zombie. That player must flip their deck to reveal the zombie movement cards, and also flip their meeple to the zombie side.

Random cards across the map contain boosts that can allow the player to move additional spaces in the indicated direction, these are great for crossing the board quickly, but allow the zombie(s) to lay in ambush.

Once all remaining survivors cross the board, day turns to night and all of the randomised cards are flipped, revealing a new set of boosts that the humans must navigate to return to their shelter.

Any surviving humans that returns to the shelter are declared the winners. Otherwise the zombies share the victory!

Who are we?

Tag! You're Undead is a fun vision brought to life by Jack Reboul, Reid Marshall, and Lauren Thomson. Jackis a Master of Architecture and the lead artist of Tag! You're Undead and our previous game, Aqueducks. Jack enjoys running, playing videogames, being a Dungeon Master, and playing boardgames.

Jack’s current favourite boardgame is Clank! Catacombs (which also features an exclamation mark half-way through the game's title). Jack's current go to video game is Age of Empires II: DE.

Reid is a published author of hiking and trail running guidebooks with a background in chemical engineering. Reid is the lead graphic designer behind Tag! You're Undead and is enjoys running ultra-marathons, hiking across entire countries, drinking too much caffeine, playing videogames, and playing boardgames.

Reid’s current favourite boardgame is The Lord of the Rings: Fate of the Fellowship 
and plays 2v2 Team Games with Jack in Age of Empires II: DE.

Timeline

After PAX2026, where our first boardgame Aqueducks won the Indie Showcase Award, we will be updating and then launching Tag! You're Undead on Kickstarter.

We expect the turn around after a successful campaign to be approximately 6-9 months based on our recent experience printing and publishing Aqueducks.

Shipping

With a smaller, simpler game, shipping will be much cheaper! Most of our audience is Australian, and will receive a flat rate on postage of $15.95AUD for 1 game and $19.95AUD for 2.

We unfortunately won't shipping to the USA this time around, due to significant problems navigating customs with our most recent game.

Otherwise, most EU countries, Canada, SE Asia, will be able to receive copies of our game for a higher flat rate.
