The Eight Deeper Arts

Eight new D&D 5E classes. Each one its own thing.

The Deeper Arts is a collection of eight complete character classes for D&D 5th Edition. Each one runs from level 1 to 20, includes four playable subclasses, and contains everything needed to bring it into an existing 5E campaign. They are not upgrades or alternate versions of familiar classes. Each is built from its own foundation.

The Pulsewright banks heartbeats like a miser banks coin, then spends them in a sudden rush. The Impellent keeps moving until the line breaks. The Ossein grows a blade from living bone, uses it, and draws it back into the body. These are not familiar class features with new names. Each discipline has its own resource, its own risks, and its own rhythm at the table.

The Eight Classes

Each class has a distinct resource system, a mechanical hook that makes it feel different at the table, and four subclasses that push the core identity in different directions. Here is what each one is.

The Pulsewright turns the heartbeat into a reserve. In Largo, the heart slows and banks Beats. In Presto, those saved beats are spent on speed, pressure, and Pulse Strikes. Its four Meters are the Metronome, Crescendo, Palpitant, and Sustainer.
For the Impellent, movement is not the space between attacks. It is the attack. The class gathers Momentum by moving, then spends it through Impact and a set of Velocities. Its four Trajectories are the Battering Line, Ricochet, Immovable, and Avalanche.
The Ossein grows weapons, armor, and tools from its own living skeleton. Ossa fuels Growths such as bone blades, rib-shields, cages, and bursts of shrapnel. This is accelerated living bone, not necromancy. Its four disciplines are the Carapace, Ossuary Blade, Splinter, and Reliquary.
The Temperant deliberately shifts the body’s four humours. Sanguine vigor, phlegmatic defense, choleric aggression, and melancholic decay can each take the lead as the situation changes. Its four Complexions are the Sanguine, Phlegmatic, Choleric, and Melancholic.
The Obligant makes power from promises kept to the self. Strictures place real limits on conduct, Bindings gather while those limits hold, and breaking a vow can release its stored tension at a cost. Its four disciplines are the Penitent, Warden of Terms, Indenture, and Covenant.
The Siderurge charges the iron already present in the body, senses ferrous metal, and manipulates it through attraction and repulsion. Lodestones fuel Magnetic Pull and other Polarities, while the field can switch between Attract and Repel as the fight changes. Its four Bearings are the Rail, Aegis Pole, Scrapfield, and Loadbearer.
A Reflection can be projected into a mirror, puddle, polished shield, dark window, or even a freestanding pane of light. Spells can originate from that reflected position, while Facets fuel the class’s spellcasting.
A name becomes something to spend. Effacements fuel spells, while Unspeaking raises Namelessness and makes the caster harder to find, bind, or hold, but also harder for allies to reach.

What's Included

Eight PDFs, one per class. Each one is self-contained -меня no companion documents, no supplements you don't already own.

Every book includes:

  • Full class progression from 1st to 20th level
  • All four subclasses written out completely
  • Class spell list (where the class has one)
  • Equipment options and suggested builds
  • Tips for DMs running that class at their table

32 subclasses across eight books: three pure martial classes (Pulsewright, Impellent, Ossein), three half-casters (Temperant, Obligant, Siderurge), and two full casters (Speculant, Nominant).

Format and Quality

Each book opens with a short piece of fiction before a single stat appears, because a class should feel like something before it reads like something. After that comes a two-column layout, original illustrated art for every subclass, and rules text formatted consistently across all eight books so switching between them never feels like switching between different products.

The books are done. All eight. This campaign isn't asking you to fund something that will be written later. The PDFs are finished and waiting.

Complete Your ClassHollow Library

If you missed an earlier campaign, previous ClassHollow releases will also be available as optional add-ons. This includes individual classes from The Haematurge, The Forgotten Arts, and The Eight Ancient Arts, as well as the complete Forgotten Arts and Eight Ancient Arts collections.

Any previously unlocked stretch goal content that applies to these books is included.

These add-ons are separate from The Eight Deeper Arts rewards. You can back the new collection on its own or use the campaign to complete your ClassHollow library.

Delivery

This is a 100% digital project. There is nothing to ship.

After the campaign ends, you will receive a Dropbox link directly through Kickstarter messages, giving you access to all your files. All books are already written, illustrated, and fully laid out, so delivery will begin shortly after the campaign closes.

Any unlocked stretch goal content will be added to the books before delivery. The Dropbox link will give you access to the final versions, including all unlocked content.

The eight core class books are expected to be delivered within two weeks of the campaign ending.

No shipping. No regional restrictions. No lost packages. Back the project, open the Dropbox link, and start playing.

Bring Something Strange to the Table

These books are complete. The next step is simply to get them onto tables.

Maybe your next character banks heartbeats. Maybe they grow a weapon from living bone, pull a sword across the room, or let part of their own name disappear when the world tries to hold them. Whichever discipline catches your attention, the full rules are ready for a campaign.

Thank you for supporting ClassHollow and independent D&D 5E design.
