But what's that? Our current games are out of stock?! That can't stand!

Three Games, Three Ways to Play

Three different games, three totally unique ways to engage in modes of play.

New Avernus

New Avernus is an apocalyptic city-building board game for 1-4 players. The game was lead-designed by Asher Stuhlman, with stunning art by Emma Clinton. It features 4 unique factions, and a 30-card oracle deck that is used in the solo-play mode.

This new printing of New Avernus is updating the game in a few key customer experience ways. Number one, it's shrinking! This massive 13x13" box was a bit hard to get places to play, ship, and take places to sell. The new box reigns this size in a bit, exploring new ways to use that space!

What We Possess

This card-run story telling game invites everyone playing to take part in moving along a ghost story from the role of the ghosts themselves. Make a mystery while you solve it! This game is ideal for people new to role playing style games and non-gamers.

This new printing of What We Possess sees the box changing shape a bit, making room to better store and separate out the pieces of the game, while making room for future expansions to slide into the box, and it updates the rulebook for ease of use. Lastly, the text is getting a readability pass to make the game easier to play in dimmer light settings and under candle light.

ZOETROPE: Death Didn't Take

This card-run TTRPG was made nearly a decade ago in its first edition to be run at conventions. Time travel shenanigans in a box, no one needs to have anything planned before you reach the table. Just sit down, deal out cards, and let the Events cards help lead the game, as the rent-a-cops of time travel screw their way up towards success. And if they screw up in a way that can't be saved? Rewind and try again.

This new printing of ZOETROPE sees the box follow What We Possess's path to a longer, sleek box that will hold the full game and expansions into the future. The rulebook is updated, and all text was re-laid out to make the game easier to read. No more tiny text you need a magnifying glass to read.

Publishing Goblin Games is Growing

Publishing Goblin recently split into three divisions. Publishing Goblin is keeping the tarot and novels and such, and enamel pins and trinkets go to Pub Gob Trinkets, but Pub Gob Games inherited not only the three past projects, but a host of new ones.

But we can't begin to dominate the games market and get into a store near you without your help with this refresh. This is not just a reprinting, it's an updating to the boxes, layouts, and planning around what our future games will look like as physical objects in a store, or in your house, or on your bookshelf!

It is with your help that this is possible at all. Once these new forms for the games are settled on, we can print more copies of them in the future as-needed. But first, we need your help getting these new box designs and quality of life changes made to the games.

Continued Support

New Avernus, and to a lesser extent, ZOETROPE and What We Possess, released, then were moved on from by us. Too many other things to work on. But as a result, these really amazing games stopped getting seen or talked about.

This reprint and rebranding for each game is intended to help build new interest in the games and as a pledge to offer continued support on all three games. You can look forward in the next year to expansions to each game. 

New Avernus will have a new faction pack with new ways to play, new structures, and a new game mode for a more direct competitive gameplay approach, as well as a cooperative gamemode.

What We Possess released alongside a few genre pack envelope mini-expansions. You can look forward to three large sets that build off those that lead you into all-new locations, Haunted City, Haunted Wilderness, and Haunted Scifi, giving you so many new ways to approach a game of ghostly story-telling.

ZOETROPE released alongside a full-box expansion set of cards, which will get re-released in the near future with a full second expansion box, expanding your game into all manner of new genre fun.

Funding & Fulfillment

First off, I want to be clear we are not charging shipping yet! That will be in the pledge manager to make sure we are close to the exact amount it costs you. This includes things like VAT, IOSS, and any other taxes or fees your country may have for international shipments.

Second, our plan is to get this to you around October/November, but it could be delayed for any number of reasons. Supply chain issues, global slowdowns, wars-- but have some peace of mind in knowing that you'll get regular updates to let you know about them if they come up. 

Funding for this project covers the reprinting and some minor costs in working with my artists to update the game boxes, as well as to make actual play videos for each game so you can see them in action!
