The Infinite Weave: Epica (Vinyl & CD Release)

The Vision: Overview

Hi, I’m Keith Richie – composer, sound designer, and the person behind Other Worlds Than These.

For years I’ve been creating cinematic ambient and electronic music that lives somewhere between film score, dark space, and quiet, personal reflection. If you know my work, there’s a good chance it’s through my album Ambient Highways – a deeply personal, award-winning release that I later brought to life as a double LP, multi-colored vinyl edition and a 3-panel gatefold CD.

That project taught me a lot about doing vinyl right: working with pressing plants, managing timelines, shipping safely around the world, and, most importantly, how much it means to listeners to hold this music in their hands.

Now, I’m taking everything I learned from Ambient Highways and pouring it into my next major release.

The Music: Overview

The Infinite Weave: Epica originally began as a standalone release simply titled Epica in 2021—a cinematic ambient journey consisting of 8 songs that I released digitally. For a long time, I thought the next step was simple: give it a proper physical edition, starting with a CD.

As I started preparing that CD release—reviewing the tracks, artwork ideas, and how to present it—something shifted.

Old themes began to feel like glimpses of a larger story. New musical ideas started weaving themselves between the existing pieces. The more I listened, the more it felt like Epica wasn’t just “an album” anymore—it was a key part of something bigger I hadn’t fully named yet.

So instead of just pressing a CD and calling it done, I made a different choice.

That’s when Epica evolved into The Infinite Weave: Epica—a fully re-focused, expanded vision now spanning four Acts and 21 songs (instead of the original 8).

Act I: The Awakening — The first fractures appear, and a strange calling begins to pull at the edges of reality.

Act II: Relics & Shadows — Hidden artifacts surface, and the forces moving in the dark begin to show their hand.

Act III: Visions & Ruin — Prophecy sharpens into consequence as the world bends, breaks, and reveals what it’s been hiding.

Act IV: The Weave — The threads converge, the truth is unveiled, and everything becomes part of something larger than it ever seemed.

All sitting at the heart of a much larger creative universe I’ve been quietly building for years. This campaign is about giving this definitive version of the album the physical form it truly deserves.

Why Kickstarter

With Ambient Highways, I got to see firsthand how powerful a double LP and premium CD edition can be—not just as products, but as artifacts that listeners connect with emotionally.

With The Infinite Weave: Epica, I want to do that again, but even more intentionally:

• A Double LP edition with room for the music to breathe
• A 3-panel gatefold CD that showcases artwork and credits properly
• A digital booklet that goes behind the scenes into how the album was made

But as an independent artist, pressing high-quality vinyl and premium CDs is a significant upfront expense. Lacquer cutting, plating, test pressings, jackets, gatefolds, shipping, packaging…it all adds up quickly.

This Kickstarter is how I can bring The Infinite Weave: Epica into the physical world without cutting corners on quality.

Your support directly funds the first pressing of these editions and helps determine how far we can take the overall production.

Why Kickstarter?

Kickstarter lets me:

• Gauge real demand so I press the right amount (and avoid waste)
• Maintain high production values, rather than chasing the cheapest possible option
• Offer signed copies, bundles, and potential upgrades that wouldn’t make sense in a standard retail release
• Invite you into the process, instead of releasing this quietly and hoping it finds its way to you

With Ambient Highways, I proved to myself (and my listeners) that I can handle the logistics of a complex physical release. With The Infinite Weave: Epica, this platform gives us a way to scale that experience up thoughtfully and safely.

The Budget

Budget & Where the Funds Go

Kickstarter helps me produce The Infinite Weave: Epica at a professional, collectible quality without cutting corners—and without guessing quantities. Every pledge directly supports manufacturing, fulfillment prep, and the fees required to deliver rewards safely.

Base Manufacturing Costs (Minimum Run)

These are the core costs required to produce the first pressing:

• Double LP Vinyl (500 units): ~$7,000
• CDs (300 units): ~$1,300

Estimated base production total: ~$8,300

Fees + Tax Reserve

In addition to manufacturing, I’m budgeting for:

• Kickstarter + payment processing fees
• A tax reserve (because crowdfunding revenue is taxable income)

That’s why the campaign goal is set at $11,200 — it’s designed to realistically cover production plus platform/processing costs and the tax reserve, so I can deliver everything properly.

Shipping & Fulfillment

I’ve successfully fulfilled and shipped physical releases through my Other Worlds Than These shop (including my double-LP vinyl release Ambient Highways), and I plan to use that same proven workflow here to keep things smooth and reliable.

What that means for you

• Shipping will be charged separately, after the campaign ends (via a backer survey or invoice).
• You’ll only pay the actual shipping cost for your location and reward(s).
• Packages will be shipped with protective mailers and packing materials to help ensure your vinyl and CDs arrive safely.

For this campaign, physical rewards (CDs, vinyl, and merch) are available to US backers only. This helps keep shipping costs manageable and ensures we can pack, ship, and deliver everything reliably.

If you’re outside the US, you’re still welcome to back at any digital-only tier, and I’ll be looking at international options after the campaign. Keep an eye on my shop at shop.owtt.net for future international options.

As always, I’ll keep backers updated during every major stage: production start, test pressings (vinyl), manufacturing completion, packing, and shipping.

Stretch Goal Upgrades (Vinyl Enhancements)

If we surpass the base goal, funds go toward upgrading every vinyl copy:

• $12,000 — Color Vinyl Upgrade
• $13,000 — 180g Premium Vinyl
• $15,000 — Full-Color Printed Inner Sleeves

These upgrades increase manufacturing costs, but they raise the quality for everyone and make the first pressing even more special.

The Ethaloren Circle

Some backers will have the opportunity to join The Ethalorien Circle —

This is more than a credit…
It is a place of recognition woven into the album for all time.

The Infinite Weave: Epica - A Guided Listening

For those who want to go deeper, some tiers and add-ons include access to
The Infinite Weave: Epica - A Guided Listening — a live online session where we experience the full album together.

I’ll play The Infinite Weave: Epica from start to finish, share stories and creative insights between tracks, and answer your questions about the music and its making.

It’s the closest thing to sitting in the studio with me while the world of Epica unfolds.

The Infinite Weave: Epica – Behind The Weave (Digital Booklet)

A beautifully designed digital booklet that digs into the creation of The Infinite Weave: Epica. It features album artwork, imagery, liner-style notes, and high-level reflections on how the record came together.

The Infinite Weave: Epica – Beyond The Weave (Digital Booklet)

A detailed, track-by-track written commentary for The Infinite Weave: Epica. Each piece explores the inspirations, production choices, emotional intent, and personal context behind the music.

Stretch Goals

Stretch Goals are how we expand The Infinite Weave: Epica beyond the core campaign—unlocking upgrades, bonus content, and enhanced extras for backers as we surpass funding milestones. Each goal is designed to deepen the experience (music, lore, and tabletop) while keeping fulfillment practical and deliverable.

$12,000 — Color Vinyl Upgrade

$12,000 — Color Vinyl Upgrade

If we reach $12,000, all vinyl records will be upgraded from standard black to colored vinyl.
A more vibrant, collectible edition for everyone—without increasing your pledge. I will likely have both discs different colors like I did with Ambient Highways.

$13,000 — 180g Premium Vinyl

$13,000 — 180g Premium Vinyl

At $13,000, all vinyl copies will be upgraded to heavyweight 180g pressings.
This provides a more substantial feel and enhanced durability—preferred by collectors and audiophiles alike.

$15,000 — Full-Color Printed Inner Sleeves

When we reach $15,000, both LPs will receive full-color printed inner sleeves featuring album artwork, lore-inspired design, and narrative visual elements.
This transforms the physical edition into a richer storytelling experience.

Why This Project Matters to Me

The Infinite Weave: Epica represents:

• A major step forward from the foundations I laid with Ambient Highways
• The evolution of the original Epica release into something deeper and more fully realized
• A chance to continue building the world that’s been quietly threaded through my music for years

Having this album exist physically—on your turntable, in your CD player, on your shelf—means it isn’t just something that scrolls past in a playlist. It becomes part of your space, your rituals, your moments of focus and escape.

If you’ve ever used my music to write, create, game, dream, or simply find a moment of stillness in the noise of life, this project is for you.

Your support doesn’t just fund manufacturing. It tells me this kind of detailed, cinematic, emotionally-driven music still matters—and that it’s worth taking these bigger, riskier steps to bring it fully into the world.

Thank you for even considering being part of that.
