The Joust - Triumvirate

The Joust

The title refers to how old, medieval tournament were organised. This is a fast paced, competitive 1v1 (or Team vs Team) dueling card game.
With Triumvirate expansion you'll be able to play with 3+ players!

You will be competing in three fields, while using three types of cards and events - Knights, Heralds and Damsels. They all generate points in different ways, and scoring the most points will crown you the winner!

New Archetype

Triumvirate adds a new way of playing with introduction of the Cleric, and The Church faction cards. If you've already played the game - you know a part of this archetype already!

The Bible & Confession cards are powerful counters to all Misfortunes, and they will now come with more support - with a new Character - Cleric bringing the archetype together.

Mechanics and gameplay

A dueling card game, where all players begin with the same core deck, and have the same pool of cards available throughout the match. 
Before the match begins they'll be deciding on key features of the deck - like using Kings Favor, or branching out to the newest archetype.

The cards are split into Events, Misfortunes and Equipment - each of these have unique features and synergies, but function similarly. Each card can be "attached", and most cards can be played. The effect of these actions however - you'll need to see for yourselves!

The goal is to gather points by playing cards, or prevent your opponent from doing so. The points are both a win condition and a currency to improve the deck - so spend wisely!

During the 10 rounds of Jousting players will have opportunities to improve their strategy, go for high risk high reward plays, or focus on consistency of their decks, but only one player will win The Joust!

Player count increase

As the game evolved - it became clear that even though it works perfectly as a 1v1 duel game - additional players could fit into the gameplay.

That's where Triumvirate comes in - the cards will be rewritten to include the balance changes, improve clarity, and most importantly - to include a multiplayer wording.
