The Mimic Dice Box: The dice box that bites!

He's here to eat your dice and hoard them. Don't worry, you'll still be allowed to touch the dice. We think..

You chose your dice one set at a time, for the colour, the weight, the way they catch the light. A collection picked with that much care should not sit loose in a dice bag or backpack where any nasty thieves can snatch it.

So we designed a dice protecting familiar. Introducing the Mimic Dice Box, a hand-cast, hand-painted, heavy quality (750 gram) resin dice chest with teeth around the lid, individually molded eyes, and a tongue that cannot keep still. It guards your dice and will bite anyone who comes for them.

Don't worry, it's not you, it sticks out its tongue at everybody

Open the lid and the tongue flicks out by itself, pushed by hidden magnets that repel each other. No springs to wear out. Nothing to wind, nothing to break, just a beast that moves every single time.

The rotation pin inside the tongue is not cast but made from a solid metal pin. Making sure that it will never break and the tongue will always flip open smoothly.

Metal, resin, glass, borrowed from a friend: the mimic does not discriminate.

Behind the teeth there is room for up to four full 7-piece dice sets. The inside is has a durable hardened paint so it can withstand even the heaviest of metal dice sets. Feed it your favourites and they stay guarded until the next session.

Every fold is shaded by hand. Every eye is painted glossy while the rest of the inside is painted matte

Nothing on this chest is cast in one go. Every part is its own piece of resin, down to each individually moulded eye.

The eyes and the inside are painted first, one by one. Then the chest is assembled and the outside gets its paint, by experienced painters we picked for this box.

The paint has real depth: weathered wood grain, aged iron banding, and a tongue that fades from deep purple to bright teal.

Our regular Mimic box bites. Chompie hugs and nibbles. Chompie is the palm-sized plush mimic of the family: soft, squishy, and convinced it is just as scary as the resin one.

When showing Chompie at events across europe we found he has a lot of fans, so we gave him his own €16 pledge so everybody is able to get a hug from their own chompy. And every pre-campaign reserver gets theirs for free!

How it ships

We ship worldwide from our own warehouses in the Netherlands and the United States, whichever is closer to you. EU pledges ship from inside the EU and US pledges ship domestically, so no customs surprises on either side.

Shipping is charged after the campaign in the pledge manager, by region, so you only pay the real rate. Chompie-only pledges travel as a small parcel at small-parcel rates.

Estimated shipping ranges per region will be listed on every reward before launch. Taxes, where applicable, are handled in the pledge manager as well.
