What is The Siege of Saint-Cassian?

The Siege of Saint-Cassian is an independent project created by Thomas, (founder of Custom Wargame), alongside Corentin (partner with Custom Wargame on this adventure). 
Thomas developed the project’s vision, lore, warbands, scenarios and game mechanics, while Corentin oversees the technical development, prototyping and production of the STL miniatures.
Together, they are bringing Saint-Cassian to life through :

• two original warbands
• a fully modular battlefield
• twelve narrative exclusive scenarios
  
  creating a complete experience built around storytelling, atmosphere and gameplay.

The Siege of Saint-Cassian is a complete new homebrew experience for Trench Crusade*.

Two original warbands. A total of 24 different unit entries. The Consecrated Knights launch with 6 miniatures, with 5 additional unit entries and multiple alternative models available to unlock throughout the campaign. The Forsaken launch with 7 miniatures, with 6 additional unit entries and multiple alternative models also waiting to be unlocked. Available as highly detailed physical 3D-printed miniatures and pre-supported digital STLs.

A fully modular battlefield. Built from nine 16 × 16" tiles, with interchangeable terrain and more than 10,000 possible configurations. Available as an unpainted MDF set or as a fully illustrated reversible battlefield, featuring the trenches on one side and the ancient blue-marble Mausoleum of Saint-Cassian on the other.

One complete digital Warband Book, featuring original lore, illustrations and unofficial homebrew rules for the Consecrated Knights and the Forsaken.

12 original narrative scenarios following the events of the Siege of Saint-Cassian and designed to make full use of the modular battlefield.

Consecrated Knights

The initial warband includes 6 wargame-ready miniature models: 1 Constable, 1 Seneschal, 1 Gallant, 2 Squires and 1 Crown Hound.

More Knights, units, and miniature designs for this warband will be revealed and unlocked as the campaign progresses.

All miniatures will be available as highly detailed physical 3D-printed miniatures and pre-supported digital STLs.

The Forsaken

Emerging from the depths beneath Saint-Cassian, the initial Forsaken warband includes 7 wargame-ready miniature models: 1 Devouring Mother, 1 Exhaled, 1 Vein Stalker, 2 Emaciated, and 2 Shrieker.

More creatures, units, and miniature designs for this warband will be revealed and unlocked as the campaign progresses.

All miniatures will be available as highly detailed physical 3D-printed miniatures and pre-supported digital STLs.

The Battlefield

Finally, the battlefields of Saint-Cassian can be brought to your tabletop through a fully modular trench system, designed and manufactured by Custom Wargame.

Its interchangeable elements can be rearranged into more than 10,000 possible battlefield configurations, allowing you to completely reshape the trenches, defensive lines, passages, and killing grounds from one battle to the next.

No matter which pledge you choose, you'll be able to customize your rewards by adding any available Stretch Goal, including those unlocked throughout the campaign.

For example: You grabbed the Early Bird Battlefield, but now you've spotted the Zealot miniature, unlocked at €12,000, and want to add it to your collection?

No problem!

Simply head to your pledge menu, select the miniature, and add it to your rewards with just one click!

The same applies to all available Stretch Goals, regardless of your original pledge.

Stretch Goals

Throughout the campaign, additional miniatures, customization options and miniature upgrades can be unlocked through Stretch Goals.

Once unlocked, these rewards will be automatically added at no extra cost to all eligible pledge levels, unless otherwise stated.

What lies ahead? Some secrets of Saint-Cassian are best left in the shadows... for now.

The Warbands and scenarios of The Siege of Saint-Cassian have already been tested through more than 100 beta-testing games.

But no matter how much testing goes into a project, something can always slip through - an unexpected combination, a typo, an unclear interaction, or a rule that simply needs further clarification.

For this reason, we will keep a 3-month feedback period after the rules are released, allowing the community to report issues and help us refine the final version.

This ensures that the printed book you receive is as polished and up-to-date as possible, rather than becoming outdated by corrections made while it is still being produced.

All rules questions, feedback and reports will be handled directly through our Discord, where every issue can be discussed, reviewed and, when necessary, corrected before the final print version is locked.

The complete Saint-Cassian Rulebook brings together the unofficial homebrew rules for The Consecrated Knights and The Forsaken, their lore and artwork, alongside all 12 original scenarios from The Siege of Saint-Cassian.

The digital edition is completely free, with no pledge or purchase required.

The Siege of Saint-Cassian will be available both as pre-supported digital STL files and as high-quality physical resin miniatures.

We believe resin 3D printing is the ideal medium for bringing the inhabitants of Saint-Cassian to life, allowing our sculptors to create highly detailed miniatures, dynamic poses and intricate designs without compromising the original artistic vision.

For the physical rewards, production will be handled directly by our team, under the supervision of Corentin S., who oversees the technical side of our STL development, printing and production.

QUALITY CHECK

Every miniature will be test printed and carefully inspected before entering production. Supports, printability and final rendering will be tested and adjusted where necessary to ensure that the physical miniatures remain as faithful as possible to their digital designs.

The same attention will be given to every miniature produced for our backers, with each physical model undergoing quality control before being prepared for shipment.

Our goal is simple: the miniature you receive should look as impressive on your table as it does on the screen.

The Art of Saint-Cassian

Two Warbands. Two radically different artistic visions.

For the Consecrated Knights - Order of the Thorned Crown, FukamiHB was tasked with bringing these giants of steel to life: towering warriors encased in massive armour, where religious grandeur meets the brutal weight of war.

For The Forsaken, we took the opposite approach.

AwanggaPutra (GarisKotor)'s organic, expressive style became the perfect way to depict the creatures lurking beneath Saint-Cassian. These were never meant to look like clean, carefully observed illustrations.

They are testimonies.

Frantic sketches made by those who ventured into the darkness - desperate attempts to put on paper what they saw before the memory begins to blur.

Something glimpsed in the dark.
Something that should have remained unseen.
Not a portrait of the Forsaken - but the scars they left behind.

The Saint-Cassian Painting Crusade

Two Warbands. Two miniatures. Two competitions. One Grand Winner.

To celebrate the launch of The Siege of Saint-Cassian, we are organizing the Saint-Cassian Painting Crusade, running from October 1st to October 31st, 2026.

Choose your side and paint one of the two official competition miniatures:

The Squire - The Consecrated Knights, Order of the Thorned Crown
The Emaciated - The Forsaken, Children of the Ochre King

Both miniatures are available as free STL downloads on the Custom Wargame website, so anyone can take part in the competition :

Each Warband has its own podium, with prizes provided by AK Interactive and exclusive Saint-Cassian rewards:

But there can only be one Grand Winner.

The two 1st Place winners will face each other in a final community vote. The miniature receiving the most votes will earn its painter the Grand Prize: an AK Interactive Special Box containing 34 Playmarkers, valued at €88.40.

You can enter both Warbands, although each participant can only claim a podium prize in one category.

Entries must be submitted before October 31st, 2026, with one photograph per miniature.

The Story Behind The Siege of Saint-Cassian

The Siege of Saint-Cassian is an independent project led by Thomas T., founder of Custom Wargame, and Corentin S., his partner and right-hand man on the project.

Thomas Trillet - Creator of The Siege of Saint-Cassian

Thomas is the creator behind the project, from its earliest ideas and narrative concepts to the warbands, scenarios, game mechanics and overall vision of Saint-Cassian.

His experience with tabletop gaming goes back 26 years, evolving over time from a hobby into high-level competitive play. For four years, he took part in the Age of Sigmar World Championships, both as a player and as a coach - an experience that shaped his approach to game mechanics, precision and competitive play.

Today, that experience continues through Custom Wargame, his Belgian workshop dedicated to designing and manufacturing accessories for wargames and tabletop role-playing games.

From rulers, gauges and tokens to objective markers, gaming mats, trackers and other tabletop tools, Custom Wargame focuses on one simple idea: making games clearer, more precise and more fluid, while reducing unnecessary clutter around the table.

The Siege of Saint-Cassian is a natural extension of that philosophy - taking years of gaming, competitive experience and product design and applying them to something much more ambitious:

not simply a collection of miniatures, but a complete battlefield experience built around storytelling, atmosphere and gameplay.

Corentin helps turn that vision into reality, overseeing the more technical side of the project, particularly everything surrounding the STL miniatures, from their visual development and technical requirements to prototyping and 3D printing.

Together, we are bringing The Siege of Saint-Cassian to life: two original warbands, a modular battlefield and twelve narrative scenarios designed to expand the way you experience the grim and brutal world of Trench Crusade.

Production Timeline

The end of the Kickstarter will mark the beginning of the final production phase.

November & December 2026 will be dedicated to refining and optimizing the 3D models. Each miniature will undergo additional adjustments to improve printability, durability and assembly, while preserving the details and character of the original sculpts.

At the same time, we will continue preparing the Battlefield for production and finalizing the Saint-Cassian book, including the feedback and corrections gathered from the community after the release of the homebrew rules.

January 2027 will focus on final print tests, supports, quality checks and preparation of all production-ready files.

Our goal is to have all digital STL files ready for delivery in February 2027, while production of the physical rewards moves into its final stages.

Shipping & Fulfillment

Once production is complete, fulfillment will be handled directly by Custom Wargame, allowing us to personally oversee the preparation and quality control of every order.

We expect physical rewards to begin shipping from March 2027, including miniatures, modular Battlefields and printed books.

As the campaign includes rewards of very different sizes and production requirements, fulfillment will take place progressively rather than all orders being shipped simultaneously.

Backers will receive updates throughout the production and fulfillment process, with any significant changes to the estimated schedule communicated transparently.

Digital STL rewards are not affected by physical fulfillment and are expected to be delivered separately in February 2027.
