Trench Of Death Vol 2 - Printed & Delivered
Par Tabletop Xtra
Statut actuel
A trench board you build differently game after game after game...
A complete and painted board, designed and painted by BlackSheepScenery.
Trench of Death 2 is a modular trench system for 28 to 32mm wargames, built from 6×6 inch square tiles. Trench runs, dugout rooms, bunkers and shell-cratered no man's land fit together in whatever layout your next game needs. When you're done, the board comes apart and stacks in a box.
This campaign is a single, limited production run of that system. We're making three Kickstarter-only kits of 12, 24 or 36 tiles, 250 kits available in total. They're printed from remastered designs not previously available and posted to your door ready to prime and paint.
These boards are originally designed by BlackSheepScenery's. We're Tabletop Xtra, based in the West Midlands, UK, and our job is to print it, pack it and get it to you.
Design and licensing
BlackSheepScenery is Tim Michiels, a terrain designer from Antwerp. He funded Trench of Death 2 as a digital project on Kickstarter in summer 2025, with 91 backers, and spent the following year adding to it. The finished collection runs to well over a hundred tile designs: the original set, a remastered version with better ground texture, four sets of trench variants, extra battlefield tiles and a hull-down tank set.
Tim also sells a lifetime commercial licence for the complete collection. We've bought it, and it's what allows us to print and deliver these kits, fully licensed. The licence covers physical tiles only, so this campaign doesn't include STL files.
The kits here will use the remastered variant 1 tiles, which weren't part of the original digital release. You get the most refined version of the set, printed and ready to play, without the need for a 3D printer or the space for one.
Designed and painted by BlackSheepScenery.
If you'd rather print your own, you can buy the files from BlackSheepScenery on MyMiniFactory, Cults3D or their own website. That money goes straight to the person who designed them, and if you can print at home, we'd encourage it.
What your pledge pays for
The money raised goes into making and delivering the kits pledged in this campaign. That means PLA+ filament, the print time for every tile, packaging, and getting each kit to its backer.
There are three kit sizes, 12, 24 and 36 tiles, and each curated kit is only available through this campaign. We've picked the tiles in each kit so that every one of them gets used in the full board, and smaller selections of them which can make smaller layouts too.
Because it's one production run, we can buy filament in bulk and print the kits in batches. That's what keeps the pledge prices where they are.
Every tile is printed with a 0.4mm nozzle at 0.2mm layer height, so the sandbags, timber and duckboards come out with clean detail.
- Included: printed PLA+ tiles at 6×6", in the kit size for your tier, packed and posted from the West Midlands, UK.
- Not included: paint, digital files or magnets.
- Shipping is charged separately after the campaign, at cost.
Every tile arrives unpainted, in grey PLA+, ready for primer. The colour may change if our supplier runs short, but that makes no difference once it's primed. No tier comes painted. The painted boards on this page show what the tiles can look like once you've done yours.
The tiles
Trench tiles make up most of every board. You get straights, corners, T-junctions and dead ends, with duckboard floors, timber revetments and sandbagged edges.
Room tiles open a trench out into a dugout. They're the spots your warband will argue over.
Bunker tiles add a concrete strongpoint with a removable roof, so you can play inside it.
Battlefield tiles are open ground with craters. They go between trench lines as no man's land.
Hull-down tank tiles give a vehicle a dug-in firing position. You'll only find them in the Full Trench tier.
Designed and painted by BlackSheepScenery.
The sandbag edging helps once the game's over, too. It holds each tile slightly off the one below, so they stack without scraping your paintwork. If a tile has recesses for magnets, you can use them to fix a layout in place.
The tiers
There are three tiers. Each one is a kit with a picked mix of trench, rooms, bunkers and open ground, adding up to the tile count below. That's enough for a playable table, and you can rearrange it into other layouts.
Each tier has a fixed number of kits. When a tier's kits have all been pledged for, that tier closes. The first 10 pledges on each tier get the early-bird price, and those 10 count toward the tier's total.
Skirmish: 12 tiles, limited to 100 kits
£99 early bird (first 10) · £109 after that
A 3 × 4 tile board, 18 × 24". It's a good size for a tight skirmish, or for finding out whether the system suits you before you go bigger.
Battlefield: 24 tiles, limited to 75 kits
£189 early bird (first 10) · £209 after that
A 4 × 6 tile board, 24 × 36". There's enough trench here for a proper front line with open ground in front of it.
Full Trench: 36 tiles, limited to 75 kits
£269 early bird (first 10) · £299 after that
A 6 × 6 tile board, 36 × 36". This is the full table, with two trench systems facing each other across no man's land. It's the only tier with the hull-down tank tiles.
When you'll get it
All three tiers show June 2027 as the delivery date. That's when the last kit leaves, and most will go out well before it.
We print and post kits in the order pledges came in, whatever tier you pick. A Full Trench pledge from day one goes out before a Skirmish pledge from the last week. If you back early, you'll very likely have your tiles months before June.
After the campaign closes, Kickstarter's pledge manager will ask for your address and charge postage at cost. Backers outside the UK pay their own import charges, so please check what your country charges before you pledge.
Trench of Death 2 is designed by BlackSheepScenery. These are licensed physical copies, printed and shipped by Tabletop Xtra in the West Midlands, UK.
