About the game
uMech Battles is a turn-based tactical game where you control unmanned Mechs (uMechs). In many ways, it feels more like a tabletop game than a traditional video game.

Lore
In the future on Earth, after an all-out war, almost all of humanity and animals were killed. However, mankind cannot live without conflicts, and in order to preserve the remaining population, it was agreed to fight with unmanned Mechs. uMechs are named after animals; the bigger the Mech, the bigger the animal. Mechs with bird-like legs are named after birds. There are four classes of uMechs: small, medium, large, and extra-large.
Mechs are roughly 10–14 meters tall and weigh from 40 to 150 tons. A Mech has an engine assembly in the center torso, which consists of an engine, capacitors, and integrated converters.
The engine produces energy that is converted by converters and stored in the capacitors. Weapons consume energy from the capacitors. The heads of all Mechs have two short-range lasers as a last-resort weapon if other weapons or parts of the Mech are destroyed.
Plans
It will be released on Linux, Windows, and Mac.
You will be able to modify existing maps or create your own, customize mechs, and easily share these maps and mech configs with the community. There will be single battles (hot-seat and against AI), a campaign, and multiplayer. For multiplayer, we plan to provide two options: a direct connection between two computers and a server solution that would be distributed free of charge, so anyone could set up their own server.
We want to create a game with no complicated setup, so that you can quickly jump in and start a battle without dealing with lots of pre-battle settings.
The game is intended to be DRM-free, fast, and lightweight despite being 3D. Planned release: Q2–Q3 2027.
Who we are
RamMech Studios is a small team of software engineers, we like turn-based games and believe that 90s and early 2000s were the best times in the game industry. What we don’t like is DRM, not owning a game when buying it, etc.
In this trying time of expensive hardware our aim is to develop a minimalist and lightweight 3D game. We do it in our free time and we are not designers or artists. That is why we are running a Kickstarter campaign to get some funds to help us speed up the process, hire some people for design work and the like.
Help us bring this project to its full potential!
