Valiant Monster Planet: Legendary Creatures & Adventures

Tales of the Valiant is a robust new game system with a rich basis in the campaign world of Midgard, but as it grows one thing it can use a lot more of are magnificent, menacing, and marvelous monsters to populate your entire campaign world with the same robust richness as you would find in games that have been around longer. That's where Legendary Bestiaries come in! Legendary Games has been producing incredible monster books for 15 years, including partnerships with Kobold Press on the Mythic Mania project and the Southlands Bestiary, and we continue to be proud partners with an incredible assortment of monster options to flesh out your Tales of the Valiant and Black Flag Roleplaying campaigns!

A Triple Threat of New Monsters

We have three terrific bestiaries brand new to our Tales of the Valiant collection!

• Mechanical Monsters over 140 incredible creatures born from mad scientists and magitech, clockworks and cybernetics, including not just killer constructs but mechanical fey, fiends, dragons, oozes, and more!
• Nordic Monsters brings you over 90 trolls, linnorms, hags, valkyries, and fey from Norse mythology and Scandinavian folklore.
• Hoard Monsters brings you over 40 delightfully deadly dungeon denizens that your heroes will dread! Claiming loot is a whole lot more challenging when the treasure fights back!

You can grab them individually or get all 3 brand-new bestiaries together in our Triple Threat bundle, but the deals don't stop there!

World of Monsters Bundles

We also have amazing options to combine these new bestiary books with our existing Tales of the Valiant products! Many of our Legendary Bestiaries explore worlds of pure fantasy, while others delve deeply into the legends and lore of the real world and its cultures. Nordic Monsters brings you nearly 90 incredible creatures from Scandinavian sagas, but if you really want to infuse your campaign world with the fabulous folklore of the real world, you also can get our World of Monsters Bonus Bundle pledge level at 40% OFF that includes the new bestiary alongside Asian Monsters, African Monsters, Latin American Monsters, and Mediterranean Monsters, with creative teams deeply rooted in the culture and history of each region! If you don't want the whole bundle, you can select the PDF or softcover for each one individually as add-ons.

Ten Tons of Terror Monster Mega-Bundle!

Wait, you didn't think just the monsters of real-world mythology would be enough, did you? Counting these three new books, the Legendary Bestiaries line now contains an incredible collection of TEN terrific bestiaries! You can get all three of the new monster manuals, plus the real-world bestiary books above, and add a host of horrors with Mythos Monsters, Sea Monsters, and SWARMS, totaling OVER 1,000 MONSTERS perfect for your campaign at less than HALF PRICE!

VTT Token Packs and Modules

More people than ever are playing their games remotely, so we have VTT token packs available for every one of these bestiaries to make it easy to drop them into your online campaign regardless of your favorite VTT of choice! You also can add the following bestiary VTT modules: Mythos Monsters for Roll20 or Sea Monsters for Foundry!

Add-On Options

Depending on your campaign, you might want to pick and choose the bestiary books you add for your game, so you're welcome to add individual creature collections using Kickstarter's Add-On feature.

Bonus Bestiaries

Lots of gamers play a variety of systems, and if that's you we're pleased to offer all of the books above for D&D 5E, Pathfinder 1E, or Pathfinder 2E. Just add the books you'd like in Kickstarter's Add-Ons and you'll be able to choose your system in your Backerkit pledge survey.

In addition, we have a pair of terrific hardcover bestiaries available as add-ons,  the Alien Bestiary and Faerie Bestiary, bringing you together nearly 500 additional monsters to take your campaign to new depths of sci-fi or wild and weird fantasy!  The D&D 5E 2014 versions are easy to use with Tales of the Valiant campaigns, and both are available in PDF and you can get VTT token packs for any system or full modules for Roll20, Foundry (Faerie Bestiary), and Fantasy Grounds (Alien Bestiary)!

That's the monsters. What about the Adventures?

We did call this Valiant Monster PLANET, and if the new Mechanical Monsters bestiary really catches your eye, you also might want a killer campaign to show them off, and have we got a campaign for you that is simply out of this world!

Legendary Planet takes your characters across the multiverse, traveling alien gateways created by ancient, godlike beings to exotic worlds and back again in an incredible campaign like none other. Inspired by sword-and-planet pulp heroes like Flash Gordon and John Carter of Mars alongside sci-fantasy from Blackmoor to Stargate, sword-swingers and spell-slingers stand alongside scoundrels and seekers for cosmic enlightenment as they unravel conspiracies and cryptic alliances bent on universal domination... or annihilation!

This spectacular saga includes eight complete adventures, beginning with an alien incursion to an unsuspecting world, but after seemingly containing the threat, your heroes are whisked into the cosmos and through a universe of wonders and intrigue, marvels and mysteries, as they become the instruments of a truly epic destiny!

Over 200 Pages of New Rules, Monsters, & More!

In addition to the adventures, you'll find an incredible array of new options for adventuring in alien landscapes, including the void of space, zero gravity, and stellar radiation! You'll also get new character options including races/ancestries/lineages, feats, spells, subclasses, and more, plus dozens of new magical, technological, and technomagical treasures, weapons, armor, and equipment!

Bonus PDFs for All Backers!

• Anasya's Journal, an illustrated short story collection by award-winning author Chris A. Jackson, chronicling her adventures across the same worlds as the heroes and bringing incredible atmosphere!
• Legendary Planet Player's Guide with player-friendly lore, religions, races, and more to ground them in the Legendary Planet universe!
• Comprehensive PDF Art and Map Folios for each adventure!

Fast Fulfillment

Unlike most Kickstarters that last a month or more and where you need to wait a long time to get your stuff, this campaign is just 16 days long, and digital PDF rewards for the existing books will go out as soon as the Kickstarter ends as downloadable links via DrivethruRPG, with the three brand-new books coming your way in July! Print rewards will take a bit longer, since we need to collect and confirm your address and payment information, but once the new bestiaries clear processing at the printer, we'll be ready to start submitting your print orders and getting those books on their way!

Wait, Are There No Stretch Goals?

That's correct. This campaign delivers exactly what it promises: an awesome expansion to your monster collection for your Tales of the Valiant campaign. No fuss, no muss, just fantastic value with a ton of killer creatures for your campaign.
