Vermilium: Outlaw Girls & Cannibal Elves

This Kickstarter campaign will fund the production to bring this exciting new adventure to your table.

Based on the free one-shot released through the Savage Worlds Adventurer’s Guild, this adventure has been expanded to include new scenes for antiheroes to explore; artifacts, tinctures, and ingredients to collect; NPCs and monsters to interact with; and layered battle maps to play on.

Also included are new Savage Tales exploring the High Needles region, as well as new optional rules for chaotic outcomes when one mixes their tinctures!

What is Vermilium

For those new to Vermilium, it’s a western-inspired dark fantasy setting for the Savage Worlds Adventure Edition, set in the strange new world of The Auroras. It’s based on the homebrew campaign I ran for my friends in which we created many characters, stories, histories, and memories together. The main setting book was successfully Kickstarted back in the fall of 2022, as well as two expansive adventure modules in 2024 and 2025.

In Vermilium, you play as antiheroes: bounty hunters, wanted outlaws, bowslinger witches, tomb robbers, holy knights, and soldiers of fortune. You’re trying to survive in an unexplored, unforgiving frontier that has yet to be charted, tamed, or even understood. To follow the path of adventure is to accept a life of desperation, never knowing what the next job will be, or where the next meal will come from.

The setting provides:

• Rules for playing troubled antiheroes of different bloodlines including humans, elves, halflings, dwarves, orcs, clockworks, and sasquatch.
• Guidelines for hunting and gathering potent supernatural ingredients and creature components.
• Rules for crafting adventuring gear and magical artifacts.
• New diseases that bestow powers while slowly corrupting their hosts.
• A living, breathing campaign world.
• A fully-stocked bestiary.

Inside Vermilium: Outlaw Girls and Cannibal Elves, you’ll find:

THE HIGH NEEDLES

Details of the immense cactus forest nestled among the canyons and valleys between the Crescent Mountains and the southern deserts.

This chapter includes a history of the region; a detailed overview of the boomtown of Little Firewater; a dozen locations within; full write ups of the different factions vying for control, wealth, and survival the characters can play against each other; new NPCs (good, bad, and ugly); and a rumors table for characters looking for local legends, gossip, and adventure seeds.

THE MAIN ADVENTURE

This tale takes the antiheroes from boomtown to the dark depths of an abandoned mine in search of a prospector and a group of outlaws. Along the way the adventure promises to provide exploration of a strange, uncharted mine complex; encounters with claim jumpers, exiled sorcerers, hungry arachnids, hungrier cannibals, and other horrors in the dark; and a death-defying minecart chase!

AS STUBBORN AS A MULE

One of the Manta Blake Mining Co.'s working animals was stolen by the Blue Flame Distillery, but has become trapped in a tar pit. A small reward has been put out for its return to either faction.

BAT COUNTRY

The Manta Blake Mining Co. wants a nest of vermin flushed out so the new railroad’s construction can be completed, but a mysterious figure stands in the way.

BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE FIREWATER

The town comes under attack from a ravenous Thu’loon horde, and the antiheroes are looked upon to help defend it.

DOWN THE WISHING WELL

A man’s innocence rests on finding a stolen lockbox hidden somewhere in town, but supernatural horrors have risen to claim it.

ESCAPE FROM LOA LENG

Imperial soldiers carrying an artifact of great importance have been captured by the cannibal elves and taken to the Dead City for a great feast. They must be rescued before they’re sacrificed.

NIGHT TRAIN FROM BLACK HARBOR

The leader of a brutal outlaw gang discovers the attack on his hideout, and arrives in town seeking vengeance.

SPIRITED AWAY

The Blue Flame Distillery has put out a bounty to find its stolen tinctures and bring those responsible to justice, potentially exposing the region’s tangled alliances.

THE ECSTASY OF VERMILIUM

A long-buried evil sleeps in the depths of Manta’s Mine, and the company is close to breaching its sacred boundary, all the while a group of tomb raiders tries to beat them to it. Unless the antiheroes can stop this, his evil will be unleashed.
