What Peeps think so far!
Tim Archer: I am speechless. I can't find enough superlatives to adequately describe this ridiculous, fantastic, amazing lunacy 😃 Andy, I have never in my life seen something so cool. I had been thinking that I didn't have enough room, that I probably would never use it and that it would sit in my pile of STLs unsued. But I decided to print one bit. ONE BIT. Just to see what it was like in the flesh. I am sitting here blown away. I will MAKE room, I will buy filament, and my goodness, I am going to print this in its full and complete glory at 0.08. I am going to have a ****** Cathedral if it kills me 😃. The MS Paints review said it best when he referred to you as 'Industry Mad B*****d'. You are. It is. And please, keep it up becasue this is just 3d printing on not just another level, but another stratosphere!
Russell Moog: As a DM, Helwick fills so many rolls on the table. The modularity means it's able to be used again and again. As an artist, the joy of painting something that's is foamcraft level detail, is a joy to paint. Helwick is just "hella" good! Arkumart.Crafts
Bee Johnson: Welcome to Helwick, is a return highly anticipated. Attention to detail, such that the more you look the more you will see. From the practical of hidden hinge tubes and inbuilt stability from pin and cove joints. To much more subtle and enchanting of hidden gems of runework and secret doors. Don't get my started on the lighting; amazing and well made places. Sign me up for the following campaign. Andy Green is a grandmaster of his craft. I can not recommend his sculpts highly enough.
Jonathan Nance: This is by far the best terrain I have ever printed and I am constantly inspired on how to use it in my games. It serves as inspiration for a multitude of stories, encounters, set pieces, and entire campaigns for me. I will absolutely be using these pieces for years and years and I know my players will be excited for what's to come every time they see these pieces out on the table.
Skjalm Arrøe: Terrabloks' Helwick terrain is an absolutely stunning set of not only the buildings but also the detailed underworld beneath the city. Holding the prints in my hands and looking at all the details made it instantly clear that this is serious next level models.
Michael Mead: Helwick strikes one off my bucket list. As a child I always wanted to create my own 3d world that a d and d game could be run in and with the power of 3d printing and the attention to detail and creative power of this campaign of creation I can finally strike that one off. So here's looking forward to see what comes next and thank you for your investment of time and talent to creating this world of endless imagination.
Brent Henneberry: The most well thought out and carefully planned printing terrain going right now. It's clear to see that love and care went into this
Jason Toon: Welcome to Helwick by Terrablocks is more than just a model; it's a stunning testament to the art of 3D printing and creativity. From the moment I began the printing process, I was captivated by the intricate details that bring this fantastical landscape to life. Each piece was designed with care, ensuring that every corner and curve reflected the rich lore and vibrant aesthetics of Helwick. As I meticulously assembled the components, I couldn't help but appreciate how well they fit together, creating a seamless world that sparked my imagination.
Painting the model was an absolute joy, allowing me to infuse my personal touch into the already exquisite design. The quality of the 3D print made it easy to highlight textures and colors, transforming each individual piece into a work of art in its own right. I spent hours perfecting the hues, layering techniques, and finishing touches to ensure that the final product matched the grandeur of the Helwick world.
Building Helwick was a rewarding experience filled with anticipation and excitement. I felt like an architect of a medieval realm, and with each step, I could see the masterpiece taking shape before my eyes. The attention to detail in this project is truly remarkable, as no element feels out of place or overlooked. From the majestic towers to the lush landscapes, every inch of Helwick invites exploration and storytelling. I can wholeheartedly say that this journey into the realm of Helwick was not just a hobby; it was an adventure that has left me eager for future projects.
Bruce Gulke: I've been 3D printing for over eight years, mainly terrain for fantasy gaming, and I have to say Helwick is probably my favorite project that I've worked with in that entire time. There's plenty of town/building products out there, but combining that with two levels of undercity/dungeon terrain is something I'd never seen before (in fact, I was deep into working on a city setup from a different company when I discovered this Kickstarter; I abandoned the other project to focus on Helwick). The level of detail is amazing, and it's very modular so reuse isn't an issue. Highly recommended for RPGs or skirmish games and I'm looking forward to what comes next.
Travis Vengroff: "Terrabloks creates intelligently designed terrain that was MADE to be printed. The level of detail and care in the STL files is unmatched." -Travis Vengroff, Dark Dice
Cecilia Porta: Do I know anything about 3D printing? No. Have I ever 3D printed anything before? No. Am I aware of what I am doing while printing Helwick? Again, no.
Will this stop me? F**ing not. I have never seen such an accurate project, something so well made that made me think that I wanted to learn something new and step up my D&D games. This is on a completely different level from any project I've seen on kickstarter, the amount of care, accuracy, the support towards backers. Whatever Terrabloks plans I'm surely gonna support.
Painting & Scenery Tutorials
Partnering with the lovely and beautiful @Lefty_paints_terrain we are creating a series of detailed long form videos on the Terrabloks Youtube channel. The first of which is almost complete and will hopefully be uploaded before the end of the campaign.
Much of what I do has been designed in a way that makes painting terrain an enjoyable and therapeutic process, key elements in every material I sculpt are designed with painting in mind and how to achieve the optimal results with little effort for the painter.
I hope to see you there, my sausage fingers may even make an appearance from time to time :) <3<3<3
The Devil In The Detail
This is scratch built digital terrain, 'Actually' sculpted cobble by cobble, stone by stone, timber by timber, slate by slate & engineered from the ground up to be entirely and completely support free.
I have tried to make everything as easy possible, I have made extra effort to get the truly hand made and realistic look, with minimal effort from yourselves, your washes will run deep and find every crevice, crack, bump and crease. Your dry brush will find the tips and sharp edges an actual delight. I have engineered all of our models so they are completely support-less and the fit and finish requiring the most minimal of clean-up.
Helwick Part IV - Elvis has left the buildings will be released before the end of the year!
About Me
I started my career nearly 40 years ago now, and as a traditional sculptor, fine art illustrator and airbrush artist, times were very different. timelines were longer and attention to detail was an absolute must.
Well timelines are tighter, everyone seems to be trying to find the easiest and shortest path and AI is thieving everyone's work, but I will endeavour simply because I love what I do, and sincerely hope you do too!
I am Andy Green and I am The Devil in the Detail <3<3<3
NOTE: I DO NOT USE AI, and I never will! All the programmes I use are pre 2020, even though I still pay the licences.
Delivery
I will supply all files via MyMiniFactory upon Kickstarter release of payment, (usually 2 weeks from the end of the campaign). I will also include .3mf files as well as STLs. Any issues, please contact me and I will make sure you are taken care of. <3
Miniatures used, I believe are a variation of Games Workshop, Cast n' Play and Titan Forge. We are not associated with any of the above.
