Warconicas is a fantasy tabletop game with real miniatures that fits on any table.
Each player fields a team of champions and a tower. Tear down your opponent's tower or wipe out their team, and the match is yours.
No fixed board, no rulebook to wade through. A match is decided in 20 to 45 minutes, on the kitchen table, on a train, or on the counter of a bar.
A companion app handles the bookkeeping: round calculations, effects, status values, and the full battle log. Roll your own dice or let the app do it, entirely up to you. If you'd miss the sound of real dice hitting the table, keep them.
Short enough for a game between other things. Deep enough that losing still stings.
How a match plays out
Pick your team
Choose one of the teams. Each brings its own champions and its own tower. No meta to chase, your style is what counts.
Set the playing field
You agree together on how large the field will be, and the game follows from there. Every figure has a fixed movement range, so a large field works fine, it just makes for a longer match. A tight field means fast, brutal encounters.
Set up
Both sides place their champions and their tower. No board needed. Kitchen table, bar counter or coffee table will do.
Move and attack
You decide who moves, who attacks and who they go for. The app shows ranges, effects and damage instantly and keeps the books straight. Dice are yours or the app's, your call.
Win
Tear down the enemy tower or wipe out the enemy team. In 20 to 45 minutes you'll know who walks away from the table. There's still time for a rematch.
The teams
Every team has its own character and its own approach. Some hold their ground and let the enemy break themselves on it. Others charge and go for the tower before the other side has even sorted itself out.
Three teams are ready at launch:
Steelbreakers
Four champions and their tower. Dwarven stubbornness in steel and stone. They hold where others would have fallen long ago. Breaking through takes patience, or raw force.
Led by Clugol Feueraxt.
Rote Hand
Three champions and their tower. Orcish force that doesn't ask, it runs you over. Few in number, but every one of them lands hard. Speed and pressure before the enemy can react.
Led by Rogmak der Zerschmetterer.
Heldengruppe (working title)
Five champions and their tower. An unlikely alliance where everyone brings their own history. Stubborn, mismatched, and together stronger than you'd expect.
Led by Lothar der Konfessor.
The teams are deliberately different in size. Three hard hitters against five who cover for each other is a very different match from four who simply refuse to move.
If you own more than one team, you can mix champions and build your own line-ups. The app already supports this.
No two matches feel the same
Every champion has their own values and their own effects, and those effects don't fire whenever. They fire in specific rounds.
One champion comes into their own in rounds 2, 5 and 8. Another in rounds 1, 3, 7 and 10. Who peaks when changes the whole shape of a match. A team built for early pressure plays nothing like one that banks on the late rounds.
Combine that with the different approaches of each team and the result is simple: running the same line-up twice doesn't feel the same.
This is exactly where the app takes the work off your hands. It tracks which effect fires in which round, runs the round calculations, and knows the rules. No shelf full of rulebooks, and nobody at the table flipping pages while everyone waits.
The craft behind it
The miniatures are made together with talented artists who bring shape and character to every figure with real skill and patience. That artistry is the heart of Warconicas, and I want to keep it visible and protected.
My goal is to grow that collaboration and work with many different artists, so that every team and every champion carries its own handwriting. My part is building the world, writing the rules, and preparing every figure for printing.
Some images in this campaign are concept and work-in-progress pieces. They show the direction, not the finished product. What ends up on your table is designed by hand. The craft matters to me, and so do the people behind it.
The app
The companion app doesn't replace the game on the table. It takes over the work nobody enjoys.
It tracks hit points, effects and status values. It knows which effect fires in which round and runs the round calculations. It tells you who's up next. It keeps a full battle log, so afterwards you still know how it came to that. And it explains rules at the moment you need them, instead of burying them in a manual nobody reads.
Dice are optional. If you'd rather roll your own, you enter the result and the app carries on from there.
The app works offline. A match needs no connection, just one device on the table.
Who's behind this
Warconicas is made by me, Sammy.
I've been buried in fantasy worlds for over ten years, and there's nothing I enjoy more than inventing my own. That's what Warconicas became: my world, built so anyone can play in it.
The thinking behind it is simple. Good fantasy shouldn't fail on price. Or on space. And least of all on the time it takes before you can even start.
I'm building this as a solo creator, together with the artists who design the figures. Everything you see here is where the project actually stands.
What comes next
Warconicas is in the middle of development, and I'm showing the road there openly.
The app is running and currently being refined in detail. The first champions are designed and printed. More figures and more teams follow as soon as this campaign makes them possible.
That's what crowdfunding is for: not selling a finished product, but taking the last step together.
Follow the project here on Gamefound and you'll get a message the moment the campaign goes live. Until then there are regular updates from the workshop, honest and without the sales pitch.
Follow before the campaign starts and you’ll also get the Workshop Book, a digital look behind the scenes that comes with your pledge.

These terms apply from the actual campaign launch onward.
While the campaign is running, you can withdraw your pledge yourself at any time.
After the campaign ends and during the pledge manager, the deadlines and conditions stated there apply. Enquiries go to the contact address listed on the project page.
