You play as a Wicken, mystical warriors that harness the powers of the creatures they slay. Combine abilities from across a fantasy multiverse and use them to defeat your Wicken opponents.

Choose a Wicken; each comes with unique creatures and mechanics.
Slay your creatures to gain their power, or kill opponents' creatures to steal theirs.

Wickens: The Deckbuilding Game features familiar mechanics with a unique twist, making it easy to jump in, but increases in strategic depth the more you play.

Unique Deckbuilding Mechanics

Wickens is a highly interactive deck builder, featuring double-sided cards and an innovative card-sleeving system. Defeat creatures to flip them over and gain their ability to add to your deck. Slay your own creatures to wield their powers, or battle your opponents' creatures to steal theirs for yourself.

Thousands Of Card Combinations

By combining mechanics from yours and your opponents' decks, there are no limits to the synergies and strategies you can discover. Build your deck on the fly, unique to your own playstyle, and win on your own terms.

Multiple Ways To Play

Wickens offers countless hours of re-playability. In addition to competitive 2-player duels and multiplayer Free-For-All, Draft Mode comes included with the Starter Pack; a much faster gameplay experience with more intense card interactions. The Solo & Co-Op Expansion adds brand new cards for a dungeon-crawling challenge you can take on by yourself or with a friend.

A Unique Art Style For Each Deck

Each deck features a different artist who created all the artwork by hand with original designs. Their styles were chosen to perfectly represent each deck's themes, lore and card mechanics. Across all decks, there are over 110 original card illustrations.

Each Wicken comes with their own Starter Deck and Creature Deck. Choose a Wicken that suits your playstyle best.
Defeat each opponent by reducing their health from 50 to 0, and become the last Wicken standing to win!

Each turn, draw 5 cards from your deck and gain 3 mana to spend across a Defense and Attack Phase. Players take turns to play cards and use abilities.
Your starter cards are weak, so gaining new abilities and building a stronger deck is the key to victory.

A strong deck comes from defeating creatures. They attack you at the end of each turn, and can sometimes have abilities that slow you down. Defend yourself from their attacks and deal enough damage to kill them, allowing you to flip their card over, rewarding you with a new card to add to your deck.

Attacking and defeating creatures from your opponent's deck allows you to use their cards for yourself. Steal key abilities they need for their strategy and weave them into your own, creating unexpected card synergies while crippling theirs.

As you build and adapt your deck, you'll unlock a range of different card effects:

Defense cards protect you and can help prepare for the turn.
Attack cards deal damage to creatures and opposing Wickens.
Emblems grant a permanent ability that lasts throughout the game.
Effects unleash powerful, single-use abilities that don't stay in your deck.

By slaying the right creatures and combining mechanics from both your deck and your opponents', pull off devastating card combinations to defeat your rival Wickens.

Wickens uses card sleeves as a mechanic. Each Wicken comes with 50 premium-quality, long-lasting sleeves for a 40 card deck, ensuring you always have spares.

Competitive

Challenge your opponent to an intense 1v1 duel! Designed specifically for competitive play, this ruleset puts your skills and deckbuilding mastery to the test as you battle to prove yourself the ULTIMATE Wicken.

Free-For-All

Invite up to 4 players to join the battle! With more Wickens in the mix, the amount of potential card synergies and combos increases exponentially. Will you form alliances to gain a competitive edge? Or will you dominate the board with a game-breaking deck?

Draft

Get straight into the action! Draft cards before the fight commences to create a customised Starter Deck, then unleash your creation at your rival Wickens in a fast-paced battle. Playable with up to four players using the three Wickens from the Starter Pack.

The Solo & Co-op Expansion adds 13 new cards and a totally different way to experience Wickens. Descend into a gruelling dungeon-crawling challenge against the creatures from your own deck.

Battle across checkpoints, build and refine your deck, and overcome progressively challenging trials. Stage Hazards block your path to victory, and a mysterious force defends creatures and strikes from beyond the portals.

We are Deep Etch Games, a family run indie game studio formed from a deep love of all things gaming. We are a small team, but are extremely passionate about making the best gaming experiences possible. Wickens is our first published game, and we are really excited to finally bring it to your table!

I'm Sam, the designer of Wickens! From a very early age, I have made and prototyped countless games to play with friends and family. Wickens was one of these that stood out as being truly unique, and is inspired by many of the games that I love playing. After many years of playtesting, balancing, designing decks, and showing the game off to the board game community, we have decided to publish Wickens ourselves.

I'm Roger, co-founder of Deep Etch Games. If it looks beautiful and fun, Sam did it. If it involves numbers and is boring, it was probably me! I have been helping creators make games for over 25 years. And now I get to help my son do the same, which is super awesome.

Shipping is not included in any of the pledge levels. Shipping fees and any applicable taxes will be added during the final pledge management. Shipping will be from the UK. Postage, VAT, customs, and any applicable tariffs will be calculated during the survey stage.
