We chose a walnut brown tone inspired by the relics of ancient wizards. Its deep, rich color carries the presence of aged wood while maintaining a balanced, neutral look that fits seamlessly into any space.

This project started with a very simple question.
“Let’s make a decent lamp.”
However, as the development progressed, we realized that merely creating a bright and well-made lamp wouldn’t be enough to move people’s hearts. A lamp is a functional product, but at the same time, it is an object that changes the mood and emotion of a space.
Then, an image suddenly came to mind.
It was a wizard’s staff, something everyone has probably swung around at least once in their childhood.
What if that staff actually emitted light?
In particular, we thought that if an object holding a story and universe like our favorite scenes with Gandalf’s staff as he set off on his journey with the ring, or an elf staff resembling forests and nature, could illuminate a real space rather than just being a simple prop, it would be a special lamp in its own right.
This product was born from the desire to create not just a “lamp that illuminates,” but a lamp that illuminates imaginations and memories together.

The very first thing we did was hand-sketch to establish a design concept.
To prevent the staff shape from looking childish or exaggerated, we constantly pondered proportions and silhouettes that would naturally blend into modern spaces. Afterward, we reviewed materials with actual commercialization in mind. We compared various materials such as steel, aluminum, plastic, and wood, considering texture, weight, workability, durability, and mass-producibility.

Ultimately, we concluded that ABS was the most realistic material for mass production and stable quality control. Once the design and material were somewhat finalized, the process of finding an outsourced manufacturing factory to co-create this product followed.

While the manufacturing environment in South Korea might have higher unit costs compared to China, we determined it was far more reliable in terms of design realization, quality control, and communication. Currently, the prototype has been completed through outsourced development, and we plan to proceed with mass production at the same factory after the funding, leading all the way to international shipping.

The biggest dilemma was the clash between design and mass-producibility.
Detail is the lifeblood of a staff design.
However, the initial design structure was impossible to implement using a mold-based manufacturing method.
During the process of creating and testing silicone molds for the mockup, we hit a realistic limitation: design modifications were inevitable for mass production.
Considering mass production, the details had to be simplified, but the most important element of this product was the sculptural beauty of the staff's head, the lighting part. We could not give up this core detail.
The solution was to separate the manufacturing methods by part. Because the head of the staff is the core element that defines the product’s identity, we used SLA 3D printing during the development stage to preserve the original sculpted details as faithfully as possible. For final production, the head will be resin-cast using a silicone mold, allowing us to retain those details while achieving a more suitable and consistent production finish.

On the other hand, the lower body part was designed to balance detail and mass production efficiency by utilizing silicone molds. This approach makes the manufacturing process more complex and increases the cost burden, but it was a choice we decided to accept in order to protect the design’s perfection.

This is because the goal of this project is to realize not just “what can be made”, but “what we wanted to make”.

Eldencraft is a brand that creates objects where storytelling and technology intersect. Beyond simply creating functional products, we aim to create objects that stimulate people's memories and imaginations and transform the atmosphere of a space.

This project wasn't conceived with a grand business idea, but rather with the aim: "Let's create meaningful lighting that won't age even after long-term use." However, as development progressed, we concluded that simply high-performance lighting wasn't enough. We believe that objects that embody the user's emotions and stories are the ones that will be cherished for a long time.

That's why this product, inspired by the childhood fantasy of a wizard's staff, has evolved into a lighting object that seamlessly blends into modern spaces.

Eldencraft is a team that has personally experienced and managed the entire product development process, from planning and design to prototyping and production method selection.

• Design considering actual mass production from the idea stage.
• Realistic product development that considers materials, processing methods, durability, and assembly structures.
• Execution to produce a product that is actually manufacturable, not just a simple concept proposal.

For this project in particular, the current form was reached through multiple revisions and tests, from sketching to design refinement to material research to prototype production and review of mass production methods.

Eldencraft did not select a factory solely based on production cost. Prioritizing design implementation, quality control, and communication stability, we collaborated with a Korean manufacturing facility to develop the prototype.

Rather than the common practice of "saving design for productivity," which occurs in mass production, we opted for a separate production method for each component to maintain design integrity.

While this choice complicates the manufacturing process, Eldencraft believes preserving the product's identity is more important. Even after funding, mass production will continue at the same Korean manufacturing facility, with quality control and reliable international delivery as our goal.

Wizard’s Light began with a simple idea: “Let’s make a usable lamp.” But once we began, we realized that a “good lamp” alone isn’t enough to move people’s hearts. Then a thought surfaced: “What if the magic staff we swung as children could truly light the way?”

This project isn’t just about selling a product - it’s about designing an experience where magic returns to everyday life. If a product defect is found upon delivery, a free replacement will be provided. Product failures caused by manufacturing defects are eligible for free replacement or refund within one year. Shipping fees and customs duties related to exchanges will be handled according to the backer’s country regulations, and these costs are generally borne by the backer.

We plan to introduce ongoing after-sales service and quality assurance policies to support long-term use, thereby contributing to increased consumer satisfaction and enhanced product value.

A Note on Transparency and AI Usage (Updated) As our campaign grows, we want to maintain complete transparency with our community regarding how we created our promotional materials. We utilized AI-generated content as a supplementary creative tool for our campaign promotion.

Here is exactly where AI was used:

In our project video, AI generated four animation sequences appearing between 0:15 and 0:36, alongside certain magic effects during the appearances of the wand and the logo.

On our campaign page, AI was strictly used to generate three image sections: the custom accessory renderings above the patent application section, the stretch goal images, and the "one staff two looks" images in the add-ons section.

All other elements of the project were produced independently.

We want to assure you that we used our own Wizard’s Light product designs and visual assets as the source materials for these tools (specifically Google Gemini and a ChatGPT paid subscription). We did not intentionally use or upload third-party copyrighted artwork without permission. We fully comply with both platforms' Terms of Use, which grant us full ownership and explicit rights to use the generated content commercially. Furthermore, our team thoroughly reviewed, selected, edited, and composited the resulting materials using tools like Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects to ensure the final output is our original creative work.
